Hey Everyone!

Today I’m doing a review of a new foundation find – the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40 PA++. I’ll be giving you my honest opinion and a quick tutorial on how best to apply it. Foundation has always been a must-have for me – it corrects uneven skin and redness and provides a neat base for the rest of your make-up. Bobbi Brown thought why not mix the best of skincare with an amazing foundation so they came up with this – the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation.

The coolest thing about this foundation is that Bobbi Brown has tapped into TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) to come up with ingredients like Cordyceps, Bamboo Grass and Lychee Extracts. Cordyceps is a type of mushroom that has super health enhancing properties and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Bobbi Brown has combined these ingredients with signature skin-tone correct pigments in a process called bi-phase cold fusion that allows the skincare actives to stay potent and to fuse seamlessly with foundation pigments. What you get is a super fine emulsion that floats over the skin surface so that your skin looks smoother, firmer and more radiant. As Bobbi Brown says -“This will change your skin – inside and out”. All in all, it’s a very interesting concept.

Here’s the scene. It’s 6 am in the morning and you have a hot date tonight after work. You’re not sure if the smokey eye you wanna wear for tonight is “work-appropriate” so you’re scrambling to gather your make-up in a bag so you can somehow transform your day look into more sultry make-up sure to impress your date. Do you take everything off after work and start over? Well Girls, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to. Here’s how you can transform your day make-up into night look. Truth be told,  I love make-up that has many uses and that’s probably why I love using eye-shadow palettes so much more than single shadows. Even better, one that has shadows for day and night so you can carry it around.

Hey Everyone!

intro

Putting on eyeshadow that’s not a shade of brown isn’t commonplace for me. Especially lilac. So when Bobbi Brown introduced me to what’s in store for Spring 2013 and their Lilac Rose Collection, I wasn’t convinced that a pastel shade of purple pink could be so inviting. I was wrong. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection is beautiful and despite what seems like cool tones, they still work on warmer tones like me. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection was inspired by sweet candy and jellies that Bobbi Brown saw in a jar and it reminded her that lilac could be a universal color for all skin tones. But enough talk, here are some of the stars of the show!

Hey Everyone!

hi

I think one of the challenges with starting any make-up artist career is building a kit. Not only do you need to get your shade, you need to be able to provide for everyone else’s. While you were opening your awesome Christmas presents, I was opening this. My boyfriend gave me a make-up artist’s dream – the Bobbi Brown BBU Face Palette! Best boyfriend in the world award? Pretty much.

The Bobbi Brown BBU Face palette is not available in retail stores, and is only available online. It is inspired by Bobbi’s own make-up palette that she uses when she works and features her correctors, concealers and foundation sticks. It has a great amount of shades and is perfect for a make-up artist because it is portable and provides for people with light or dark skin an anyone in between.  I’ve used her foundation sticks at school and bought one for myself at the airport (go duty free) and love it! But enough talk, let’s open this baby!

Hey Everyone!

If you hate bb creams because they never match your skintone, then you’re in for a treat, finally! In fact, the Bobbi Brown BB cream is one of those products you return to after a while and start loving again. I think in a cold country like London, the Bobbi Brown BB Cream’s glowy finish performs much better than humid Singapore and with a very rare warm undertone, it’s a gem in this crazy BB race!

The Bobbi Brown BB Cream is SPF 35 PA+++ which is a reasonable range as most BB creams are at SPF 25. Bobbi Brown also claims that this baby covers imperfections and evens the skintone, helps control oil, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and brightens dull skintone over time. I can’t say much about wrinkles but obviously being SPF 35, it should shield you against UVA and UVB rays as it also claims. The BB cream also comes in a uniquely extenstive range of shades which I think is this BB cream’s winning point. You in fact have 5 shades to choose from, all in natural skintones of our skin. Nothing blue or overly white, something that makes me extremely happy.

Hey Everyone!

To be honest, I never really wore lipstick until I went to uni. To me lipsticks were such a hassle. I couldn’t eat without eating some and they faded far too much. But little did I realize that it wasn’t particularly lipsticks as make-up items I didn’t like, it was just that I was wearing the wrong one. I continued my lipstick journey with M.A.C, Chanel, YSL, and drugstore brands like Revlon and Maybelline only to find that I might have a slight addiction to them. They make a massive difference to any look, it’s the final polish. Even to that, I haven’t tried a Bobbi Brown lipstick before either. Silly, I know.
