Hey Everyone!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’ve been getting used to using an eyebrow pencil lately and have been really liking the strong brow look. I usually use an eyebrow powder but at times I feel that it can’t do super sharp lines and it’s pigmentation is obviously lacking too. It’s good as a natural brow but for something with a little kick, I’ve been using a pencil. Probably the most popular eyebrow pencil is a particular one from M.A.C called Spiked. I’ll be doing a little tutorial on how easy strong brows can be!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First of all, the M.A.C Spiked Eye Brows Pencil is pretty amazing. It comes as a thin pencil that is thankfully automatic so you don’t have to sharpen it. It also has quite a narrow tip so that drawing specific lines is quite convenient. Spiked is a chocolate brown that is quite dark and more suitable for very dark brown to black hair tones. Although it’s really whatever floats your boat. A general rule of thumb is that your brows should be no more than 1 or 2 shades lighter than your hair color.

Today I’m going to be doing a review and tutorial of a gorgeous eye palette – the Lancome Hypnose Palette Star Eyes in Brun Au Naturel! I have been loving this lately and I also have another shade in Taupe Au Naturel. They give the prettiest and most naturally enhancing eye looks in a simple compact form that is easy to carry to work or wherever you’re headed!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The palette boasts an innovative “wet” eyeshadow technology that allows the shadow to have a range of intensities with a multi dimensional and even texture! They’re pigmented and although they have matte shades, they aren’t chalky which is really important. The palette comes with 5 colors that you can use for day to night make-up and two types of applicators which do come in handy on the go.

Today, I’m going to be doing a review on the NEW Shu Uemura Caligraph:Ink Eyeliner. You’ve probably spotted it at basically every Shu Uemura counter and when I first saw it, being an eyeliner addict, I wanted to have it. To be honest, I was expecting this to be the a really good eyeliner. Shu Uemura happens to have very high quality products and almost all of them I’ve tried so far hasn’t at all been disappointing so when I got my hands on this, I really couldn’t wait. And I am happy to tell you write off the bat, that it’s a pretty good eyeliner.

Eyeliner and mascara are probably some of the most important make-up items any girl could have. Eyeliner thickens the lash line and helps your eyes appear much bigger while mascara adds volume and curls your lashes to open up the eyes. I’ve been trying a few brand new additions to the L’Oreal family – the L’Oreal Gelmatic Eyeliners and the Butterfly False Lash Wings Mascara and I’ve been loving them both so I thought I would share my opinion about them with you all in today. I’ll also be showing you a few fun looks that you can do with colored liners so they don’t seem so intimidating anymore! There’s also an exciting giveaway to win a $300 L’Oreal beauty hamper and an exclusive invitation for you and your friend to a preview lunch of L’Oreal’s next upcoming launch!!

Although The Body Shop has been renowned for it’s body care and environmentally friendly products, I never really saw it as a make-up brand until they came out with these amazing Colour Crush eye shadows. Newly launched in Singapore, The Body Shop Colour Crush eye shadows come in 30 different shades, all single shadows which make them look just like smarties! They offer both pearl and matte shades and have an extensive colour range from the safe colours to the more wilder pinks, blues and greens.

colors

My ultimate favourite one is this vivid pink because of course you know that vivid pink is totally my colour! The name goes by Berry Cheeky which is a hot berry pink that is really pigmented. I just love how smooth the shadows are and how easily they glide on the skin. They have amazing texture and I’m really surprised since I usually see The Body Shop as more body care than make-up.

intro

Putting on eyeshadow that’s not a shade of brown isn’t commonplace for me. Especially lilac. So when Bobbi Brown introduced me to what’s in store for Spring 2013 and their Lilac Rose Collection, I wasn’t convinced that a pastel shade of purple pink could be so inviting. I was wrong. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection is beautiful and despite what seems like cool tones, they still work on warmer tones like me. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection was inspired by sweet candy and jellies that Bobbi Brown saw in a jar and it reminded her that lilac could be a universal color for all skin tones. But enough talk, here are some of the stars of the show!

I finally got my hands on the most famous baby of 2013, the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I am in LOVE with Urban Decay eyeshadows as you probably would have known judging from my tutorials and I was so excited when I got my paws on this one.

naked2

The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette features six essential shades – five being matte and one being a frost shade. This is the ultimate palette for neutral eye wearers like me and the matte shades help even mature ladies get the best for their buck. In fact, for more mature women – matte shades help to enhance the eye while shimmer shades enhance the wrong thing such as wrinkles. Nonethless, no matter what shade you are, going matte isn’t a boring idea at all. However, if you’re the more colorful type, you might want to use these colors in the crease that will help contour the eye as a mix of matte and shimmer on the eye can go a long way.

The world of creative falsies has always been foreign to me. I mean, when would I find the occasion to wear lashes with red and green feathers or even to the more simple diamonte ones? Probably never. But, going to make-up school helped bring out the crazier side of me and that’s when I learned of Paperself lashes. If you think feathers is a bit too cray cray for you, then how about paper cut out eyelashes? That’s right.

So when eyesbright.com contacted me to see if I’d like to review one of these, I was more than excited. For all of you who are unfamiliar with eyesbright.com, it is one of UK’s leading eye accessories retailers and they provide us not only with cool falsies like Paperself, but also a myriad of different contact lenses – from cat eyes and panther eyes to halloween contact lenses to UV electric blue lenses. They also do face and nail and lip tattoos! SO, if you’re looking to make your next costume better than anyone else’s, you can make it complete by checking out what Eyesbright has to offer. I mean, seriously, what they offer is so quirky and cool, I would hop onto their site just for pure entertainment.

Hey Everyone,

How To

Applying perfect eyeliner can be a difficult task for the newbie in make-up to some of the experts. It’s something that requires practice and patience. But if you’re out of both, here is a really easy way to put training wheels on your eyeliner. All you need is a dark eye-shadow like a matte black or brown that will be your eye definer and a sharp synthetic angled eyeliner brush. Use these two tools as your training wheels. Simply draw on the eye shadow where you would put your eyeliner. The synthetic angled eyeliner brush (I recommend the Ecotools one) will help you draw precise lines with the shadow.

Hey Everyone!

We all know that Topshop makeup has been around for a while now. The definetly different packaging of white chalk on black paper, squiggly sketches of make-up products has always caught my attention but I never really dove in for the kill until now.  I’m like a stubborn cat when I’m shopping. When I want to go shopping, I really go shopping. When I want to try something out, I want to try it all. And if I’m not in the mood, my parents have even begged me to buy something. Anyway, enough of being silly, here’s my take, opinion, review, whatever floats your boat of the majority of the make-up products.  Let’s get started.

Hey Everyone!

It’s no surprise how much I am in love with the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – not because everyone else loves it or the fact that there are probable queues outside Sephora right now begging for it – but because genuinely, it’s pure awesome. To me, getting a single shadow from a store is a waste of money. I’ll probably never finish just one color and getting a palette for me is tons more worth the price. I know how ridiculously long over-due this review is, but if you’re thinking of getting the Naked 2 Palette – Girl, you gotta stop thinking, and start saving because I’m going to tell you straight off – it’s worth it.  Here’s my take on this daily baby and my everyday eye tutorial to boot. At the end, I’ll tell you whether you should be getting the Naked or Naked 2. Get the Naked 2.

Hey Everyone!

I believe that my lashes have stage fright. They’re a little scared naturally to be out in the open. In fact, any longer and I might look like a potential Snuffleofogus from Sesame Street. True story. Today I’m going to be doing a review on the Maybelline Magnum Volum’ Express Ultracomb mascara. It’s coming out in Singapore if it hasn’t already and I have to say it’s one of my all time favorites. I love it!

The Brush:

The brush reminds me of a zebra which it shouldn’t because it’s yellow and black instead of black and white. And it’s not a brush, it’s a comb. It has black zebra stripes which are holes that fill in with the mascara and you use the non-curved side to apply the mascara which I know is a new behaviour. The first time I used it, bimbotic I know, I used the yellow and obviously nothing happened. So use the stripey side, please. Comb mascaras are actually underrated. They do better for me in terms of defining, curling and lengthening!

One of my favourite make-up products of all time has to be the eyeshadow duos that NARS provides. They’re pigmented and you can clearly see why the two colors are married in the pan as the color combinations are well thought out and they should be, looking at the price tag. On my facebook page, I recently posted a picture of me off to a 21st, and I was requested quite a bit to do a tutorial:

So here I am with a tutorial and a little review of the NARS Eurydice Duo, one of my easy to do looks for any night or dinner out. It’s a duo I highly recommend. I won mine from a YouTube giveaway on TheSPNation! I usually judge my eyeshadows based on the packaging, colors, pigmentation and texture. Here’s a product description:

It’s mah birthday! So I thought I might blog today. It’s raining though – like the kind of rain that stays for the entire day. Oh man, should have probably blogged about something more fun like what I want to be like in another 20 years or something but instead I decided to give you a review of the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner.

This has been totally raved – like a total rave party gone wild. It’s one of Bobbi Brown’s best-sellers and was a product I wanted to get my hands on for quite a while until Cosme-De.com gave them to me to review for y’all.  (Score!) This my 100% true opinion.  Let’s go!

First off, I hope you are having a splendid Christmas Eve. If you still believe in Santa, disregard what others have to say, he’s coming. He also likes chocolate chip cookies but keep the milk low fat because he’s watching his weight.

Anyway, today I’ll be doing a review of one of my favourite products and probably one that is most misunderstood – it’s the M.A.C Prep + Prime Eye. It’s a lid concealer and one that I use daily. I might skip on the UDPP that day, but I’ll never skip on this. It’s the key to create a bare canvas upon your lids so that your eye-shadows show more true to colour and at times more vivid. Let’s explore what this baby does shall we?

Hey Everyone,

The Urban Decay Book of Shadows isn’t just a makeup item, the whole lot have easily become the collectibles of the makeup world, making these babies pretty special. Perhaps it was the exclusivity, the mad rush to book a palette, the fact that it was a Disney and Alice in Wonderland collaboration that made the previous book of shadows so successful. Yet, the NYDC palette didn’t really rock the boat and I was surprised to see it still in stores when I came home from Melbourne but knowing that they are limited edition, I quickly swept one off the shelf.

I don’ know what it is, but I keep thinking to myself, “was it just an impulse buy or is the new Urban Decay NYDC Book of Shadows Vol. III really worth it?”

Hi :)

This review has been sponsored by The Beauty Club (www.thebeautyclub.com.au) but of course, it’s 100% honesty to the maximum.

Beautiful packaging with the wand being very similar to the Rimmel Sexy Curves. I haven’t tried that mascara before though.

I had high hopes for this one, more because it was loved by TheCurrentCustom. But, I was a bit dissapointed. At the beggining, I absolutely hated it but I realized that all mascaras start a little wet right off the batt and you need a little more time so that the product dries a bit for it to perform at its best, but even its best disappointed. I mean, I still like the stuff. When you have eyeshadow on, it gives your lashes the dimension you need. Eyeshadow off..um. Yea.

Hey Everyone,

I don’t know about you but I have always been on the search for that special eye pencil that won’t drip, smudge or budge especially when applied on my water line and tight line. I’ve tried countless pencils – Revlon Colorstay, Maybelline, Clinique – but they have all been kicked aside as the disappointments of my make-up collection. I have only recently found MAC Technakohl in Graphblack and more so an answer to all my problems – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils.

* Disclaimer: I was not sponsored these products and this is what I truly think of them.
