Hey Everyone!

I’m glad to say that my skin is finally getting better and better. That means I get to be more experimental with my skincare! I am truly a huge fan of Aveda products. Their Dry Remedy™shampoo has literally healed my hair after so much color and treatment damage and their hair products actually work. Even my boyfriend uses their products now on his hair! But hair isn’t the only thing that Aveda is known for, they have skincare ranges as well! In my last post, I visited the Aveda Experience Centre at Ngee Ann City for the Aroma Sensory Journey and Hairstyling Ritual where an Aveda daymaker chose the specific products that suited me best!

bathina

I confess, I’m obsessed. When I pop the cap open and smell Bathina, it takes me back to my Uni days. I wore this scent during my 2nd year of Uni when my friend gave it to me as a gift. I started wearing it after my shower daily and after that, I loved it so much, I kept wearing it out. For a while until the bottle finished, it became my classic and signature scent. That says a lot since I’m quite picky with..well how I smell.

Benefit’s Bathina is just one of those scents you can’t forget. It’s something that is perfectly sweet and flirty but still complex and complicated. It smells amazing, and to this, it’s for sure an understatement. No joke, girls. So when I saw the new bottle, you can probably say I was thrilled. The old bottle was just a pink tall glass bottle that was pretty generic. Now, it’s looks like a pink genie is going to pop out of the bottle and grant you three wishes. Now that’s an improvement.

Lancôme launches a new mascara today – the Lancôme Grandiôse Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara! I was given this mascara to review pre-launch and I only had time to do it today so I thought I would instead voice out my honest first impressions of it. This mascara is where  Lancôme really bends rules because there’s a unique twist to it.

l2

If you haven’t heard of this mascara yet, the Lancôme Grandiôse Wide Angle Fan Effect Mascara boasts the ability to do all three most prized effects – lengthen, curl and volumize. Lancôme has come up with the 1st patent pending “Swan Neck” wand that helps to access all lashes from corner to corner, offers full lash coverage from root to tip and produces an evenly fanned out lash fringe. The formula of the mascara is also innovative in that it is enriched with Lancôme’s exclusive Native Rose-Cell Extract.

I am attracted to Sephora like bees to honey. It is probably my favourite store, ever. My boyfriend literally has to steer me away from that store and I’m sure you all feel the same way! Although Sephora brand products are not the first thing I choose to look at, I always do notice how innovative they are in their products. They are extremely on trend, probably much faster than other brands and they’ve got an extensive range. Whereas other brands have their regular mascaras, Sephora launches a split mascara wand that hugs the bottom and top of your lashes. Similarly, now they’ve taken another step for innovation and have launched new nail polish removers for two problems that we always face – removing polish off our feet and removing glitter nail polish! In this post, I thought I’d do a review on both.

I am a total Aveda fan at the moment and I’m sure you have seen how their Smooth Infusion products have totally transformed my hair. Seriously, I love how their products feel so natural and they work! If you don’t know yet, the art and science of pure flower and plant essences is the core of Aveda. Its beauty products are alive with the life force of plants and Aveda goes to exceptional lengths to be respectful to the earth. Ever since a hairstylist founded Aveda in 1978, Aveda’s beauty products –haircare, skincare and aromas-have been professionally developed and clinically tested, delivering high performance products that balance beauty and well-being for each individual.

Smelling good and fresh is so important, especially in this hot and humid weather. For me, perfumes are great but they always fade on me and aren’t great solutions to smelling fresh throughout the day. Plus, you don’t just want to pile on fragrances on top of a stench – that never works because you’re not eliminating the cause of the odor.

r2

I’ve been recently coming back into the habit of spraying on a deodorant right after a shower and it’s a practice that I really believe everyone should get into. It can be so embarrassing to smell and you have something important to rush to in the evening like a date or meeting even if you can’t help it. To always be reassured, my current favourite to do the job is the Rexona Shower Clean FRESH Anti-perspirant Deodorant. It not only eliminates odor but it controls sweat too – which something perfumes cannot do.

Today I just wanted to let you in on a new skincare range I’m trying out! As you know, I am still on the road to recovery with my acne and I need something that is great for oily & really sensitive skin like mine. I decided to try out the Curél Sebum Trouble Care skincare range because the range claims to control both skin sensitivity and sebum production. I did some research beforehand and I found out that a dual function is important because if excess sebum on the skin is not properly removed, the sebum turns into a harmful substance that irritates the skin surface and inner layers, worsening skin sensitivity overall. That’s why you need a range that does both. Another cause of sensitive skin is a lack of  ceramide which helps your skin retain moisture and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier against external irritants. Of course skin sensitivity can also be caused by diet, hormones, and a change in pH level too.

I am sure we have all heard of mainstream nail polish brands like O.P.I, Essie and China Glaze, but what about indie nail polish brands? Indie nail polish brands tend to be better for you since often they are handmade, 5 – free (meaning that they do not contain camphor, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde or formaldehyde resins) or 3-free and sometimes cruelty free as well. They are like secret gems in the nail polish world made by passionate and creative people! You can’t find indie nail polish brands just anywhere.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

In fact, I don’t know of a place that you can in Singapore except an online store called www.beautysofly.com where I got all these nail polishes I’m going to show you today! It’s an amazing site that has a load of indie nail polish brands you should check out as well as a variety of mainstream brands too. I love the variety on there and shipping is quick and efficient! Let’s get started and explore my favourite glitter ones!

Ever since I had my hair dyed and basically damaged, I am always in need of great styling cremes to get my hair back in shape. I get loads of compliments on my hair but little does everyone know that I have to maintain it too. I even had a period of time where I had to constantly curl my hair because I didn’t want everyone to see the damage. That’s why I think the true test is when you can wear your hair naturally straight without worrying. I don’t always feel like curling my hair daily so that’s why I need cremes to help me out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I have been loving the Aveda Smooth Infusion styling creme which is amazing for days when you just wanna wear your hair naturally straight after blowdrying! The Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight styling creme progressively eliminates unwanted waves and fends off frizz with every use while giving strands heat protection which is a very welcome bonus. This creme actually has naturally derived plant fibers that invisibly attach to each hair strand to loosen the waves as you blowdry and help hold your straight style in place. There is also a humidity barrier of organic cassava root that helps fend off frizz. The cool thing about Aveda is that they are very into natural and eco friendly ingredients that are very healthy for your hair.

Today, I just wanted to give you a quick update about my journey with IDS clinic – it’s been a good four months already! IDS is a skin clinic that I have been regularly visiting to keep my acne issues under control and I have been really loving their professional service. You can read more about it here in my last post when I first visited. They have a very comprehensive range of products and for the first few months, they really helped to lessen the amount of acne I had. Trust me, it really was quite bad. Not only did I have small bumps, I had large cystic acne as well. It’s been a real journey and right now, it’s gotten a lot better thanks to the products. However, to be totally honest, my skin isn’t perfect just yet. My current favourite products from the range is the IDS Cleansing Gel (best make-up remover ever, if you have great skin you need to buy this anyway), IDS Scrub (very fine scrub that helps to take away dead skin cells and blackheads) as well as the IDS spot (which is a tinted acne treatment). I love the IDS C+ and Pore as well as they’ve really been effective in lessening my crazy skin. I want to update you on my detailed and full journey after my acne is fully recovered, but what I really want to talk about today is the amazing treatment I had yesterday at IDS.

Today I’m going to be doing a review on the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks. They’re a recent hit that I’ve been trying lately. These fluid sticks are basically liquid lipsticks or lip lacquers – a pigmented formula that is a mix between a gloss and a lipstick. Dior claims that this is a one-coat do it all hybrid lipstick with the hold of a classic lipstick and the shine of a gloss.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First of all, if you haven’t fallen in love with Dior packaging, you must be uber immune. I love Dior makeup. I love the packaging and I can’t hide the fact that whenever I’m using Dior, I just feel insanely happy. I don’t know why, it’s just beautiful. It’s the kind of make-up that makes me want to just hold it in my hand and stare at it for hours on end. Okay, maybe not hours but you know what I mean. That being said, the fluid sticks come in a gorgeous metal, mirror like packaging with the head of a lipstick and a boudoir handle. It’s amazingly gorgeous. The applicator is a curved doe foot with a scoop that helps to pick up the product and something that I do find easy to use.

I have to say that this post has been ridiculously overdue. Why? Well, these brushes are something that I can’t live without and even though I’ve shouted them out instagram, basically told everybody I know to get them and  have just fell in love entirely, I have yet to write a proper blog post explaining my love for them so here it is. 13rushes is an incredible brush brand, with an incredible passion and an even more incredible product.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It has been a proper 7 months or so since I first laid hands on my first set of 13rushes brushes so that being said, I pretty much know how these babies work. 13rushes is a totally cruelty-free brush brand, meaning that no animals were harmed in the making of them. They are totally synthetic, extremely soft and fluffy and will make you possibly squeal with delight when you receive them in the mail. The founders of 13rushes are amazing people, YuHui and Charlene, and they are so passionate have put in so much effort to the creation of these brushes that it really shows. But to be honest, I was skeptical at first. I’ve had such bad experiences with synthetic brushes that many of my other brushes were goat or squirrel hair. I initially thought that animal hair picks up color the best and synthetic brushes are horrible at blending powder products.

I’ve been getting used to using an eyebrow pencil lately and have been really liking the strong brow look. I usually use an eyebrow powder but at times I feel that it can’t do super sharp lines and it’s pigmentation is obviously lacking too. It’s good as a natural brow but for something with a little kick, I’ve been using a pencil. Probably the most popular eyebrow pencil is a particular one from M.A.C called Spiked. I’ll be doing a little tutorial on how easy strong brows can be!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First of all, the M.A.C Spiked Eye Brows Pencil is pretty amazing. It comes as a thin pencil that is thankfully automatic so you don’t have to sharpen it. It also has quite a narrow tip so that drawing specific lines is quite convenient. Spiked is a chocolate brown that is quite dark and more suitable for very dark brown to black hair tones. Although it’s really whatever floats your boat. A general rule of thumb is that your brows should be no more than 1 or 2 shades lighter than your hair color.

Today I’m going to be doing a review and tutorial of a gorgeous eye palette – the Lancome Hypnose Palette Star Eyes in Brun Au Naturel! I have been loving this lately and I also have another shade in Taupe Au Naturel. They give the prettiest and most naturally enhancing eye looks in a simple compact form that is easy to carry to work or wherever you’re headed!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The palette boasts an innovative “wet” eyeshadow technology that allows the shadow to have a range of intensities with a multi dimensional and even texture! They’re pigmented and although they have matte shades, they aren’t chalky which is really important. The palette comes with 5 colors that you can use for day to night make-up and two types of applicators which do come in handy on the go.

Today I will doing a review on a recent purchase in London – the Rimmel Apocalips! I first heard about these amazing lip lacquers from a fellow youtuber @sunnydahye who insisted I tried them. The recent withdrawal of all Rimmel products from Singapore didn’t allow me to so when I saw it here in London at my local Boots, I made a quick grab to add them to my basket. I thought they’d go on too bold for me to be honest swatching them at the store but I was really surprised at how smooth and lightweight they are.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There are just about 7 or 8 shades of these Apocalips and I got the pretty much the boldest picks of the lot – Stellar and Apocaliptic. There are nudes, a neutral and a couple reds and plums as well. As you know, my standard lip is a good hot pink so I’m always on the hunt for my next favourite when it comes to this shade. These were 6.49 pounds and I had a 3 for 2 deal at Boots which was great. I love the packaging – in this kind of black diamond mountain like appeal as if it’s “earth-shattering” and the applicator is cool in that it has a pocket for the product. This ensures that you don’t have to keep on dipping back into the tube for more which is an issue I always have.

I have to be honest with you, my skin is pretty bad right now. Acne has always been an enemy to me and mine’s not a result of improper cleansing, it’s a matter of hormones which kind of makes things worse. I was born with PCOS which doesn’t really do much except that there’s always a little bit of hormonal imbalance. I took a huge blood test back in Australia and they found out that I had it.  I could have bouts of great skin (where I take all my pictures etc) but the next day I could be blooming with acne buds. It’s something that has been bugging me my entire life and I don’t know when it’s going to stop. Products do work for a series of days and then stop working. Right now, it’s pretty bad and has been since a few months back but I guess you wouldn’t know how much pressure I feel to have good skin doing what I do so it’s not something that I want to express to the entire world online.

I have been a long time fan of LUSH fresh face masks. I remember in Uni, I used to buy one a week and my favourites were probably brazened honey, love lettuce and catastrophe cosmetic! LUSH Singapore invited me down for a special event to see how one of their fresh face masks were made and I have to say, it’s exciting stuff! Today I want to share with you my experience during my third visit at Kerring Skin which is located at 60 Orchard Road, #07-07A International Building. We first started off with a veggie peel and cold steam. They said that my dead skin was starting to take over which explains my hormonal breakout so they wanted to remove it with a peel and cold steam. I love the cold steam, it’s so refreshing and it’s probably my favourite treatment from the past three visits.

Today I thought I might do a foundation review! It’s been a while since I’ve done one because my skin has been breaking out so badly. Thankfully though, it’s on the road to recovery. It’s like unpredictable weather really and it can go crazy in a matter of days and heal up in just the same time. Melbourne weather. I’ve been trying out the new Lancôme Blanc Miracle Bright Light Creator liquid foundation and I’ve been really impressed by it’s coverage and lightweight feel.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Lancome Blanc Miracle was first launched in 2011 and was extremely popular because it gave you Aura-Bright radiance and was long lasting. In fact, it was the the number one best selling whitening foundation in Asia! You might think that it’s just another foundation, but Lancôme has really put a lot of effort and research into it’s new formula. Now in 2014, the Lancome Blanc Miracle is now re-formulated offering a higher SPF protection at SPF 50 PA++, a spectacular brightening effect, sensitive skin friendly with natural ingredients, and a “fit and fine” texture. It’s a lightweight and comfortable foundation that gives you great coverage without feeling heavy.

My skin has been really awful lately. I know it doesn’t look like it but my camera has been good to me and has decided that it shouldn’t pick up every single flaw. The month of feb has been really stressful for me. I’m working everyday and on the weekends and my sleep is postponed till the am.

I need like space to breathe sometimes but I’m pretty sure it’s just me and my timely hormonal breakouts. With my skin lacking…a lot of things..I decided to take a trip to Kering Skin at International Building in Orchard again to see what they could do! Sometimes no matter how many products you wanna pile on, I guess skin is also a reflection of your lifestyle so I’m trying to find time to slot things in. Hopefully, I get enough sleep! I told the ladies at Kering Skin that I wanted to try something different and something that would help me take away my acne scars and breakouts! My breakouts come out of nowhere and they are so annoying! Thankfully there’s makeup to cover them up but it’s not always the solution!

I’ve realised that Singapore has been really starting to jump on the eyebrow bandwagon with many people opting for different procedures to enhance their eyebrows. Eyebrow embroidery has been a very popular service lately. It is an in between an eyebrow dye and tatoo and only permeates the first layer of skin so in that sense it is semi permanent. Curious, I went to The Prestige Eyebrow and Lash Specialist located in Pacific Plaza, #03-08, 9 Scotts Road to check it out.

p2

Eyebrows frame the face and when done right can make you look slimmer, younger and even more symmetrical. It is always important to have your eyebrows groomed! My eyebrows are naturally not that sparse so I was interested how they could transform them. The Prestige is really amazing. I mean, look at my before and after! My eyebrows look amazingly natural and much more defined! I thought I might walk you through the process in case you are interested in what eyebrow embroidery is since everyone is talking about it lately.

I guess I just wanted to tell everyone..that I’m back! If you were right in front of me, you’d probably look at me funny and all for good reason. To be honest, when I went brunette I just didn’t feel like myself. All of 2013, I just felt like I was trying to be somebody else so today, we say hello to the well…original me. I guess going black for me means a lot to me. For one, I don’t ever have to worry about looking like a two toned squirrel with my roots again and secondly, I don’t have to damage my hair anymore by retouching it every month. But frankly, I went back to black because it’s just me and I don’t have to feel pressured like I have to dye my hair six different colors and make it ombre like everyone else. So today, we say hello again to the individual, unique and orginal me even though it’s just me going back to my natural hair color! Yay! :)

Finding a lipstick favourite in my jungle of a collection is pretty difficult but I’ve found myself using one time and time again so today I was like, why aren’t I telling you about it?! It’s the Burberry Lip Velvet in Redwood and it happens to be right now my all time favourite subtle matte finish lipstick.

redp2

First of all, it is instantly classy and chic. I mean look at the packaging – even the lipstick is printed with the signature Burberry pattern and the case is embossed with it. I love how the formula is so smooth and creamy. Not that wet creamy though, just kind of like chocolate. For a matte lipstick, it really is far from drying and the pigmentation is amazing. My lip velvet is in Redwood which is a beautiful dark neutral brick brown that I really love sporting these days when I have more “serious” things to attend to. I reckon it’s a lovely work lipstick too because it’s not too loud but still defines the lips really well!

Beauty Collagen supplements are a huge hit here in Asia and especially in Singapore! They’re consumed in either drink, tablet or powder mix form to help the skin regain elasticity and suppleness. In fact, collagen helps increase our own skin’s collagen production which is responsible for how firm and elastic our skin is. I’ve wanted to try it out for the longest time but the smell of collagen drinks originating from fish collagen really turned me off. Thankfully, I’ve found Recoliv which is from bovine origin (and thankfully odourless) and decided to jump the bandwagon with this to see what all this collagen fuss is about!

I still remember reviewing the very first one on the market – the Rachel K CC Cream – and now it’s a category of make-up. If you don’t know what CC creams are, they are just a more refined version of bb creams. That means you’re looking at more skincare ingredients, finer texture, more coverage – basically bb creams 5.0. A lot of brands are trying to differentiate their cc creams though and I find more korean versions gearing towards cc creams that have “color adapting technology” – meaning that they come out white but “turn your into your skin color” once rubbed in. However swanky and cool, I don’t really believe it. This “technology” is usually caused by micro capsules that contain pigment and break once rubbed into the skin. It’s not brand new news either with Revlon first coming out with it when I was still in High School.

It’s that time of the month again! Time to touch up my roots and give my hair a new revamp of color. I simply loved my experience at Organic Hair Professional so I decided to give them another visit to see how well their organic hair dyes perform. I mean, I’ve never tried an organic hair dye before, much less knew they actually existed. Smelling strong chemical laden hair dyes have always been the norm so I was really excited for this visit! By the way, I also just wanted to share with you how I book my appointments – it’s through this nifty website called Tab a Salon at www.tabasalon.com!

SK-II is probably my all time favourite skincare line right now. I love the stuff. Not only are they highly raved about in Singapore (and probably everywhere else on the planet), I love their products because they work. You’ll see results right there after using it just for a week or two!

sdf

I also have some great and exciting news!! I’m happy to share with you all that I have been appointed a blogger ambassador for SK-II on Clozette!

I don’t know if you saw sneek peeks on Instagram (follow me @roseannetangrs), but I’ve been filming a series of 3 really fun videos with them. A hint is that I’ll be doing make-up on myself, bridal make-up on a bride-to-be and lastly, I’ll also be showing you a few style tips when it comes to accessorising yourself! My three tutorial videos will only be launching on Clozette next month in November but the video site is already up and running if you wanna see some of the other ambassadors featured too! Stay tuned for my videos here.

I love this foundation. It is so good. I’m sure you know that I’ve tried countless bottles of foundation. There were a few misses, hits but a few rare I love yous. This has gotta be an “I love you”. Today I’ll be doing a review on the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat! I’ve been a long time believer in YSL’s cult product – the Touch Eclat (YSL’s pen highlighter) – so I was very much keen to try this foundation out. Plus, I was at an event and I was talking to the beauty editor at Cosmo and when asked what her favourite foundation of the moment was, she quickly replied with this particular bottle! And after trying out for a month, I have to agree.

Today is the start of YSL week! Well, that’s what I’m going to call it anyway. I’ll be reviewing three of my favourite items from Yves Saint Laurent make-up in three seperate posts! I love YSL make-up. They have the sophistication and class I love mixed with high performing and dependable products. I’ll be reviewing specifically some of the more popular make-up items from the iconic brand – being the YSL Touche Eclat, Le Teint Touche Eclat Liquid Foundation and the YSL Glossy Stain in 104!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I thought I’d start off with the YSL Glossy Stain. It’s been raved about so much so I was super excited to unbox mine and see if it really has earned it’s claim to fame. Basically YSL says the Glossy Stain provides ultimate wear, color and shine. It is a long-lasting stain formula for the lips and is made of pure water soluble pigments fused in a transparent texture for non-sticky, long-lasting and hi-shine gloss.

Today I thought I would review a new hair salon and one that is pretty special and unique. It’s the Organic Hair Professional. They have quite a number of salons in Singapore already and the best thing is – it uses almost all organic and natural hair products! I knew I was in the right place when my hairstylist told me that he loved working here because he felt he could finally breathe and he doesn’t get sick from all the chemicals anymore too! With the current state of my hair, I for sure didn’t want to dip them in any more chemicals after the colouring process and thought I should visit a more healthier alternative.

I’ve been sporting red lips like nobody’s business – just like or so it seems – the rest of the world. When I walk around Orchard road, I’m seeing more people with red lips than ever before so today, I decided to do my guide to getting those perfect red lips. I love red lips because they just stand out from the crowd. They’re able to make your entire look come alive and turn tired faces into energetic ones even though we might be faking it. For this post, I’ve chosen a few of my favourite tips and my favourite red lipsticks (with lip swatches too!) to show you.

I’ve been plagued by oily skin ever since I can remember. Midday, you’d probably notice my nose becoming a shiny discoball and not to mention my t-zone. It’s hard to change what you’ve been born with, but I reckon you sure can help it along. In fact, research has proven that our skin tends to produce more oil because it’s actually dehydrated! That’s why ever since, I always make sure my skin has a hydrating product to quench its thirst day and night. The new L’Oreal Hydra Fresh Skincare range is something that I’ve been trying out recently and I really like it. Here’s a little review and tutorial! The Hydra Fresh range includes four stars the show – Hydra Fresh Creamy Foam, Spa Water, Mask-In Lotion and Supreme Emulsion.

If there’s anything I’m crazy about when it comes to make-up – it has to be foundation. Foundation is an uber important makeup step because it sets the base and well “foundation” for your make-up. Except for the fact that you may have absolutely flawless skin, the other parts like your lips and eyes won’t look half as good if you have a foundation that doesn’t work for you. I’ve been trying out the Lancôme Teint Visionnaire lately, the newest edition to the Lancome makeup family, and I am solidly impressed.

2

First of all the packaging is fantastic and not to mention pretty innovative. I haven’t yet seen a foundation that looks like this. When I first got it, I thought it just had a gigantic cap but on closer inspection, it was actually the lid to another concealer! That’s why this is called the Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo. It contains both a precision corrector and your perfecting foundation. I’ve read a few magazines that have featured this baby and all say that you should start with the concealer first and then your foundation to achieve an even more naturally flawless complexion. This is contrary to what I’ve been doing – since I always put my foundation first and then my concealer so I don’t end up rubbing off the concealer when I buff and blend my foundation.

There are so many face masks on the market right now and I understand that it’s pretty hard to find a good one that works. Lots of them have the same ingredients, claim the same things but I still wonder if they’re just good for teenage sleepovers. Always on the hunt, I decided to try out one that’s a little different from the conventional. We’ve all heard of sheet masks, clay masks and even gel sheet masks but have you heard of one that’s totally made of jelly? Today I’m going to be reviewing and showing you how to apply the éPure Membranous Jelly Masque that has rave reviews on the net!

When we think nail polish, sure we think first the major brands of polish like O.P.I, Essie and China Glaze. It’s not uncommon to forget that some of our favourite make-up brands make pretty good nail polishes too. I am in love with the Lancome Vernis in Love nail polishes and for good reason. If it’s splurge day and you want to pamper those nails, then these are something that you should definitely check out.

2

These nail polishes have an amazing formula that make me kind of wish I didn’t spend 35 dollars every week on my nails. They claim to have a fade resistant gloss, have mistake free application, intense color and a long lasting formula. Guess what, for once, I have to say that all the above are true! For one, the brush is a pro-wide brush if that’s what they call it – which means it spreads out to cover the entire nail. The brush hairs aren’t made of some cheap material either, they look very soft and luxurious with no stray hairs.

Wow, where do I even begin with this trip. When I was 18 doing YouTube videos with an awful camera stacked on a bunch of books, I had no idea that one day someone was going to fly me to Bangkok on an all expense paid trip to try out the country’s best spas. But, God proved me wrong.THANK YOU GOD for this amazing opportunity to go to Bangkok. I mean, seriously, me? Wow. Just wow. A few weeks before the trip, the Thai Embassy called me up to ask if I’d like to be flown to Bangkok for their Find your Fabulous Media Trip to try out the best centres offering beauty treatments in Thailand. Um, yeah I do! I packed up my bags and got on my Thai Airways flight in the wee hours of the early mornin’ to make my way there! I guess it’s like that time of the month again. No, not that one – time to dye my roots. Of course back in the naturally black hair days, it wasn’t a problem but now I finally know how it feels. Other than my roots, I’ve always felt like my highlights were a bit too strong, especially the ones near my face. They made me look like a forest fox. Instead of going to the salon, I thought why not try a box dye – one that you can get at Watsons, Guardian or any local drugstore. And hey, it’s good for your wallet too because we know how expensive salon dyes can get!

I can’t remember how long I’ve wanted to try this. Probably ever since I fell in love with the Clinique Chubby Sticks and immediately classified them as possible dupes. Or maybe it seemed as if every train station was covered with them and Emma Stone’s face. Whatever it may be, I finally bought them at the airport so I could get them Duty Free when I was on the way to Bangkok (which I can’t wait to blog about later). So it’s the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain a dupe of the Clinique Chubby Stick? I’ve found that the packaging may be dupes of the Clinique Chubby Stick but it’s formula feels and even smells quite different.

I can’t wait to tell you my latest find – The Face Shop Aura CC Cream. Boy, is this stuff good. I’ve been trying to get on the CC Cream bandwagon lately just because it’s all the rage now. I remember reviewing the Rachel K CC cream a long time back, loved it and and now it seems like it’s everywhere now. Incredible how fast things can grow! Of course with the bb cream craze, I was a little skeptical. Most CC Creams now boast color correcting properties and a majority of Asian brand CC Creams try to differentiate themselves by having color changing technology – cream that comes out white and changes to suit your skintone. Basically what is happening here is that there are little sacs of color that you break when you blend the product out so the product appears to change color. Personally, it’s a gimic that is so last century and something that a few foundations already had before the CC Cream craze hit. This does not have the color changing technology but it’s sister, The Face Shop Smart Capsule CC Cream does of which I also bought and will review later.

Giorgio Armani cosmetics only recently landed back on Singapore shores this year. They were previously available at the airport but now you can get their lux products in Singapore at the DFS on Scotts. I’ve noticed the somewhat large variety of international make-up brands making an entrance into Singapore this year including Tom Ford and Laura Mercier. Eventhough we associate Armani to be more like a fashion house than a cosmetics brand, it’s quickly following the footsteps of Chanel, YSL and Dior.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Many would agree that the star of their show is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation that have been pawed by the press and even online. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time coming and today, I’m finally dishing out my review! It’s supposed to give you make-up that looks like skin, be as light as silk and provide decent coverage. The oil-free formula has a Micro-fil technology that allows the foundation to glide on the skin with a silky texture. But, it’s not cheap spend though, retailing for about $73 in Singapore. Today, I thought I might put it to the test and see what the hype is finally all about!

Happy Thursday. I haven’t raved about a good bb cream in months. There were none. All were a little too gray, made me way too shiny and just didn’t provide the coverage I needed. Well, until I came across this one. It was really a spontaneous purchase at the Holika Holika counter at Isetan at Wisma and I finally don’t regret it.  I bought it for about $32 which is a really good price actually. I first laid eyes on the Aqua Petit Jelly BB in Sunnydahye’s video – she does crazy good asian make-up and kpop tutorials  and I’ve been wanting to jump on the asian make-up bandwagon since forever. And fine, I was a sucker for this cute little packaging. The name was too cute to resist either – i mean..aqua..petit…jelly? Why Yes, I do want to put that on my face. Someone save me before I start rolling around in it and tossing it in the air. Okay.

I love NARS cosmetics – their blushes are amazing and so are their eye-shadows and multiple sticks. It’s no surprise that I gravitated towards their foundations too but retailing for almost a hundred dollars each (although now priced at $68 because of the recent price drop) when I was back in Melbourne, it moved to my “i want, but can’t have yet” list. Well, that stood until I got to get it only $35 bucks at the Shiseido private sale! Yeah, I was pretty eggscited. Countless of forums discuss the difference between the sheer matte and sheer glow foundations and I picked the sheer matte simply because I’ve been needing the coverage lately from late nights. Also forgive me if I look a little different today. For some reason, sometimes I wake up with single eyelids or double eyelids and today just happened to be a single eyelid day, lol.

It’s that time of the month again! Well, no..not that time of the month but it’s certainly time to get a facial! Facials are an important to any skincare routine and is recommended by skin experts to be done once a month (or whenever you need a little pampering).  I was invited by Asian Skin Solutions to come down to try out their facial services and intrigued by the way they’ve dived into specialising in asian skin, I couldn’t wait to try them out to see whether it actually makes a difference.  Asian Skin Solutions have discovered that Caucasian and Asian skin is structured differently and that they both have different skin problems that can’t be solved by just one solution. In fact, it’s one of the few salons that specialise in Asian skin here in Singapore.

If you’re having a blush emergency, pick up the phone and call…Fine One One! I’ve been recently into cream blushes, something I never really enjoyed until now. I love how they’re totally on the go, they don’t need an additional brush to slap on and they give an irreplaceable natural glow. Here’s my review of a fairly new one that’s hit the market – the Benefit Cosmetics Fine One One!

2

The Fine One One actually claims to be a brightening stick more than a cream blush. I think the most appropriate category to put this in is a cream blush stick. And seriously, they need more of these around. Open the stick up and you see that it’s much like a stick or lipstick. Use the rotating wheel to get more of the product out like a push pop. Fine One One is made up of three colours – a bright orange, sweetheart candy red and a pearly highlighter – that together create a beautiful peachy glow.

They say that scents are collections of memories. A whiff of something can instantly bring you back to a moment in time. I reckon it’s like wearing a memory. If you are in need of a new perfume, I’m proud to announce that L’Occitane has just come out with four new scents available Tuesday this coming week in stores which are all worth a whiff! They smell amazing! It’s the L’Occitane Collection De Grasse range which I had the honor of previewing a few weeks ago!

Grasse is actually a town in France were local growers cultivate jasmine, rose, orange blossom and violet flowers. It’s actually undeniably the world capital of perfumery, a place that unites precious ingredients from near and far. In fact, the greatest perfumers in the world learned their skills in the laboratories of Grasse for centuries! Karine Dubreuil is the perfumer for L’Occitane who has worked for various major perfume houses. She is the nose behind many famous fragrances already and created the compositions for the L’Occitane Collection De Grasse. They’re a union of complimentary ingredients and that’s why they smell so good!

Everyone does monthly favourites, weekly favourites, but how about the stuff that you keep on going back to time and time again? These are my favourite products that I can’t live without. I haven’t been able to find good substitutes in Singapore for them and I feel like they’re the best products I don’t mind going to the store again and again for them! Let’s start shall we?

#1 Daiso Sponge Detergent:

Getting a good brush cleaner is absolutely essential to making sure you have perfect make-up every time. Clumpy foundation on a dirty brush leaves you with streaks. I don’t know about you, but I remember how hard it was getting foundation off my brush – it just wouldn’t melt off with your standard counter brush cleaners. Now introducing you the Daiso sponge detergent! It’s 2 dollars and it’s all you need. Seriously, all you need. Foundation just bows down to the stuff and melts right off leaving your brushes looking absolutely clean and new! It’s the only brush cleaner I use and will use. How can you beat 2 bucks right?

But, the salons I’ve vistied these days always go a little too crazy with the scissors and probably 90% of the time, I end up regretting it seeing my locks on the floor!

A few weeks ago, I had to get my hair done because my producer for Toggle TV insisted I chop off those dry ends because I was filming the next day! I’m sure we all love getting surprises in the mail, but how about monthly? And even better, they’re all beauty products. Bellabox has always been probably the most well-known brand of sampling boxes, being based in both Australia and Singapore. Plus, they understood that beauty products are expensive and they never wanted to regret buying another bottle. Thus, they started Bellabox. I’ve been itching to try them out, and finally am here to open up a Bellabox right in front of your very eyes! So exciting! It’s April’s Bellabox by the way!

I’m sure we’ve all dreamnt of a lipstick that doesn’t need touching up and that stays on even after we’ve eaten. And guess what I’ve found, the perfect solution. It’s the new addition to the Revlon lipstick family, the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede lipsticks. Matte lips have been really in lately too so I was happy to try this baby out!

The lipstick comes in a cute cylinder/clear casing. As you rotate to draw more lipstick out, it has a clicking sound. Overall, it’s great that you can see the color of the lipstick clearly especially when you’re grabbing between many in your make-up case. No gripes about this one! The one I’m trying out happens to be the one in Finale. It’s a very wearable raspberry red that’s super pretty. In fact, let’s try it on! eternal grace

I remember when I was sitting in class back in High School and almost every single friend of mine would ask what I was wearing. It was my beloved ZARA perfume I got in Dubai when I was 15 and it was my very first. My Dad gave me holiday money (score!) and I ended up getting my first concealer from The Body Shop and my first perfume from..Zara. You can tell that I was totally not a clothes kinda girl from the start. Anyway Zara discontinued it and I’ve been on the hunt for something similar for a very long time.

It was in London when the Philosophy Eternal Grace perfume and I first met. It was a long day trying to find the boyfriend a Christmas present making my way through Selfridges and I ended up in the beauty hall across the candy aisle. Amongst other cult favourites stood Philosophy and looking at the popularity of Grace, I decided to give all three a whiff. Eternal Grace was clean, crisp, subtle, sweet and charming. It smelled just like my Zara perfume when I was 15. I was overjoyed! But I didn’t buy it that day and I regretted it ever since so when I saw it at the Philosophy counter in Singapore, I handed over the mooh-lah in an instant. I have no regrets despite adding yet another perfume to my collection. It is the perfect citrusy floral scent for everyday and smells amazing. You have no idea. It’s seriously a must-have, a long lost love now found and my favourite.

Although The Body Shop has been renowned for it’s body care and environmentally friendly products, I never really saw it as a make-up brand until they came out with these amazing Colour Crush eye shadows. Newly launched in Singapore, The Body Shop Colour Crush eye shadows come in 30 different shades, all single shadows which make them look just like smarties! They offer both pearl and matte shades and have an extensive colour range from the safe colours to the more wilder pinks, blues and greens.

My ultimate favourite one is this vivid pink because of course you know that vivid pink is totally my colour! The name goes by Berry Cheeky which is a hot berry pink that is really pigmented. I know it doesn’t look like it but I’ve actually been battling acne for a long time. My skin has attitude and breaks out in different periods of time for what seems like no absolute reason. It can have periods of peace and then have periods of war and you can see the war coming with small tiny bumps spread across my face. Thankfully, it has prepared me for battle so here I am sharing some tips to help keep your skin clearer including what works for me and what doesn’t.

1. Spot Treatment – Proactiv Repairing Lotion

My all time favourite acne treatment that doesn’t leave me scars is the Proactiv Repairing Lotion. It works because it contains benzoyl peroxide that eliminates the bacteria on your skin that causes acne. I used the Proactiv range before and just like any skincare range, it works for a while and then doesn’t.  However, I’ve stuck to the repairing lotion for a long time and its the one thing that has helped clear acne without leaving scars, smaller overnight and even stops growing acne from coming out. What a miracle worker. I’m probably on my 4th bottle.

immortelle

I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my skin lately (thank you) and I’ve pretty much fallen in love with the L’Occitane Immortelle range. It has really added a beautiful glow to my complexion so I thought it was only necessary to share it with you all.

The idea behind Immortelle is it’s special main ingredient – a flower from Corsica, France named Immortelle. Even when the flower dies, it still remains as vivid as when it was alive. Over ten years ago, L’Occitane revealed and patented the anti-ageing, microcirculation, collagen production and protection against free radical powers of this flower and it has been praised by women ever since. Story over, I think it is absolutely amazing still that it looks alive (but is actually pretty much gone). Makes for nice interior decoration too. The other main ingredient is Bellis Perennis which limits, reduces and inhibits melanin synthesis (pigmentation).

For starters, I’m horrible at painting my nails. If I could get an A for every time I’ve been out of the line and a medal for smudging before it’s dry, I’d be a golden girl right now. So don’t make fun of me okay? Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of OPI nail polishes so when I found out that beautysofly.com was selling OPI for 10 bucks each (instead of the $22 you get outside), I went pretty estatic. Really into reds and now into glitter and gold, I picked up two nail polishes from the OPI Sky fall collection – Golden Eye and Skyfall – plus my very first Seche Vite top coat (finally).

intro

Putting on eyeshadow that’s not a shade of brown isn’t commonplace for me. Especially lilac. So when Bobbi Brown introduced me to what’s in store for Spring 2013 and their Lilac Rose Collection, I wasn’t convinced that a pastel shade of purple pink could be so inviting. I was wrong. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection is beautiful and despite what seems like cool tones, they still work on warmer tones like me. The Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Collection was inspired by sweet candy and jellies that Bobbi Brown saw in a jar and it reminded her that lilac could be a universal color for all skin tones. But enough talk, here are some of the stars of the show!

I finally got my hands on the most famous baby of 2013, the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I am in LOVE with Urban Decay eyeshadows as you probably would have known judging from my tutorials and I was so excited when I got my paws on this one.

naked2

The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette features six essential shades – five being matte and one being a frost shade. This is the ultimate palette for neutral eye wearers like me and the matte shades help even mature ladies get the best for their buck. In fact, for more mature women – matte shades help to enhance the eye while shimmer shades enhance the wrong thing such as wrinkles. Nonethless, no matter what shade you are, going matte isn’t a boring idea at all. However, if you’re the more colorful type, you might want to use these colors in the crease that will help contour the eye as a mix of matte and shimmer on the eye can go a long way.

The world of creative falsies has always been foreign to me. I mean, when would I find the occasion to wear lashes with red and green feathers or even to the more simple diamonte ones? Probably never. But, going to make-up school helped bring out the crazier side of me and that’s when I learned of Paperself lashes. If you think feathers is a bit too cray cray for you, then how about paper cut out eyelashes? That’s right.

So when eyesbright.com contacted me to see if I’d like to review one of these, I was more than excited. For all of you who are unfamiliar with eyesbright.com, it is one of UK’s leading eye accessories retailers and they provide us not only with cool falsies like Paperself, but also a myriad of different contact lenses – from cat eyes and panther eyes to halloween contact lenses to UV electric blue lenses. They also do face and nail and lip tattoos! SO, if you’re looking to make your next costume better than anyone else’s, you can make it complete by checking out what Eyesbright has to offer. I mean, seriously, what they offer is so quirky and cool, I would hop onto their site just for pure entertainment.

Benefit Fake Up1

I was recently invited to the launch of Benefit’s brand new concealer, Fake-Up! Benefit is the Queen when it comes to faking it. Whether it be eyelashes, radiance or even a flawless complexion. Now, they’ve found a product finally worthy of the name and that’s this concealer. P.S I had an amazing time at the launch, loved the skit they did below!

whataskit

The new concealer comes in extra chic packaging and an absolutely beautiful tube and the stick form makes it easy for girls on the go. What makes this concealer different from the rest? It’s wrapped with a “hydrating core”. Basically your pigment comes from the core of the product and a moisturising balm wraps around the pigment. So, when you glide, you get a mix of moisturisation and the concealer.

Applying perfect eyeliner can be a difficult task for the newbie in make-up to some of the experts. It’s something that requires practice and patience. But if you’re out of both, here is a really easy way to put training wheels on your eyeliner. All you need is a dark eye-shadow like a matte black or brown that will be your eye definer and a sharp synthetic angled eyeliner brush. Use these two tools as your training wheels. Simply draw on the eye shadow where you would put your eyeliner. The synthetic angled eyeliner brush (I recommend the Ecotools one) will help you draw precise lines with the shadow.

Cream blush has always been a love it or hate it product for me. If applied to heavily, I look like Krusty the Clown and for some reason it never wants to stay on your cheek right? So today I’m going to teach you how to properly apply cream blush so that you get the exact color every time.

Cream blush is simply a blush in cream consistency. Almost every big name make-up brand has a cream blusher and for good reason. They give you a healthy glow especially great for photoshoots when you want to a healthy and glowing finish on your model.

creme1

The trick to applying cream blush is to apply it only after your foundation. Or, if you have flawless skin, straight on your skin. Never apply it on a powdered or set face because powder and cream (like oil and water) don’t mix and you will end up with a cakey mess. Then, you will need two fingers to apply your blush. One blush to dot the cream on your cheek where you want it and the other to blend. That way you don’t apply too much and you can build the color up. I painted my nail a different color so that you can see that I’m using two fingers.

Lip liner is one of those love it or don’t know it kind of products. Most of us don’t even use lip liner and reach straight for our lipsticks right? I know I used to. But I find that for bold lips – whether it’s red, pink or even orange –  nothing beats a good lip liner to really define your lips and make sure that your lipstick doesn’t move or fade.

The best lip liners are smooth, easy to apply, sharp and pigmented. You need to be able to get pigment by a very light trace of the pencil. Here’s a simple tutorial on how to apply your lip liner. Of course the way you do this is just like eye liner in that you have thousands of different ways that you can draw the line but here’s how I do the job:

Although it’s been a while since Burberry beauty landed on Singapore shores, I remember still feeling pretty excited that this classic luxury brand had finally made it’s own make-up line following in the footsteps of Chanel, Dior and YSL. Skeptics say that they can’t possibly make as good a product as they can with their fashion, but with YSL’s touche eclat, Chanel’s vita and matte lumiere and Dior’s lipsticks and nail polishes, it’s only about time till they come out with their own cult product.

star

Today’s star of the show is the Burberry Complete Eye Palette, my very first Burberry beauty product, in Smokey Grey (No. 0 1). I love the packaging of these beauties. The trademark criss cross pattern is printed not only on the beautiful mirrored casing, but also on it’s sleeve and onto the powdered product itself. It’s simple, classic and beautiful and the chrome texture is just the right thing to differentiate itself from any other make-up brand.

When I first came over to London, I was excited to see pretty much two brands – Barry M and SLEEK. Sleek has always been written about in blogs, talked about on YouTube and after getting a Sleek Acid palette online a year ago, I couldn’t help myself to a few Sleek products here. Plus, there was a Superdrug deal (the local health & beauty store) on all beauty items going for 3 for 2 (buy 2 get 1 free) which made these originally £7.99 palettes only about £5 each (about 10 sing dollars). How great right!!

Sleek make-up is actually the drugstore line of NARS, one of my favourite high end brands and it’s really to no surprise.  I’ve been really impressed with the quality of these products. They pride themselves in trying to cater to all skin tones and aim to be fresh, trendy and iconic in the eyes of both you and me and make-up artists. But enough talk, let’s get started!

Finally, it is time to review my Cetaphil buddies! I’ve used them both to the last drop so I thought I would do a review of both the much talked about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and the UVA/UVB Defense Sunscreen.

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Unlike most cleansers on the market, Cetaphil is a much trusted global brand that is both fragrance and soap free making them awesome for people with sensitive skin. Because it’s approved dermatologists, it’s helped many people, even my friends with acne and my relatives with a few skin conditions.

Let’s first start with the famous Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. This cleanser claims to be fantastic for senstive skin, is recommended by dermatologists, softens while cleanses and is able to even remove light make-up. It also won’t clog pores, is pH balanced (did you know there’s a optimum pH for great skin?) and is also fragrance free.

It’s silly, but it’s true. Sometimes with all the lip colours out there, we just don’t know which one to whip on. Do we go pale like Kim Kardashian or pink like Nicki Minaj?

Well, here’s the answer. Simply go 1 or 2 shades darker than your natural lip color to find your most flattering, natural shade. Simply smack your lips together tightly and see the color your lips produce when you let go. That, my love, would be your go to daily lip color. If you want your lipstick to last longer, grab a lip liner and fill in your lips first before applying your lipstick.

If you hate bb creams because they never match your skintone, then you’re in for a treat, finally! In fact, the Bobbi Brown BB cream is one of those products you return to after a while and start loving again. I think in a cold country like London, the Bobbi Brown BB Cream’s glowy finish performs much better than humid Singapore and with a very rare warm undertone, it’s a gem in this crazy BB race!

The Bobbi Brown BB Cream is SPF 35 PA+++ which is a reasonable range as most BB creams are at SPF 25. Bobbi Brown also claims that this baby covers imperfections and evens the skintone, helps control oil, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and brightens dull skintone over time. I can’t say much about wrinkles but obviously being SPF 35, it should shield you against UVA and UVB rays as it also claims. The BB cream also comes in a uniquely extenstive range of shades which I think is this BB cream’s winning point. You in fact have 5 shades to choose from, all in natural skintones of our skin. Nothing blue or overly white, something that makes me extremely happy.

I think I’ve probably been hearing about SK-II Facial Treatment Essence ever since I was 10 years old. Everyone knows this baby from countless ads about it being a miracle water and the best product for achieving crystal clear skin. The story goes that the secret ingredient to SK-II’s success, Pitera, was discovered when a scientist noticed in the 70s that the women who worked at a Sake brewery had soft and youthful hands. Years later, they isolated that main nutrient rich ingredient as Pitera and have used this as the star of the show for the majority of SK-II products.

When I was twelve years old, my friend would bring her Lip Smackers lip glosses to school from the States and we would sniff all of them cooing at it’s yumminess when they didn’t have them in Singapore yet. Lip Smackers lip glosses were amazing and my favourite flavour was the vanilla. It just smelled like you just made a batch of Mommy approved vanilla cupcakes. How good is that smell. I’m in love with Vanilla. I’ve been in love since I was little when all of us would spray Bath and Body Works Vanilla and Brown Sugar body spray on ourselves before class, light vanilla Yankee candles and of course eat vanilla birthday cakes. If you’re just as big a fan of vanilla as I am, you will LOVE the Organix Vanilla Silk Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum.

Fancl to me has always been one of those brands I’ve wanted to try  for so long, but never got around to doing it. From the super bright store lights, to the beautiful sales assistants dressed to the T, I’ve always been curious at what they had to offer. I mean c’mon, Japanese beauty products belong to a whole new world and I happen to be a fan of the whole thing. Foaming foundations are now the new in the world of make-up. We have cream, liquid, powder even mousse and now it comes in a can. I mean, who would have known right? The first time I spotted a foaming foundation was the Maybelline Pure Mineral BB Mousse. I thought it was really cool and innovative but I expected the foundation to have poor coverage and to be extremely light. Little did I know I was wrong. When I saw the Maybelline Dream Nude Air Foam on shelves in Australia, I grabbed it off the shelves to review.

Maybelline claims that this product is 100% lightweight and offers nude perfection (whatever that means) and gives you effortless application because of the fine pigments. A concern I had was if it would break out on sensitive skin. I have uber sensitive skin these days and I’m pretty prone to break-outs and I’ve heard that foaming products have a chemical in it that isn’t so good for your skin. I’ve been wearing it though and have not seen any major complications.

I’ve always kept my eye on Marc Jacobs perfumes. First there was Daisy, which has always been a hallmark fragrance for me. It’s funny how certain smells can remind us of certain moments in our life and Daisy reminds me so much of first year Uni that I will never wear it again. I know it’s a bold statement to say but it’s certainly special. Then, came Lola which I thought was a bit too mysterious and musky for me and when I saw DOT on the counters, I became throughly excited.

Dot is a little different. It is heavier and sweeter than Daisy but lighter than Lola. It represents the in-between and is a much fruitier than floral scent. It is sweeter with top notes of red berries, dragonfruit and honey suckle, heart notes of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom and base notes of vanilla, driftwood and musk. It is thus a fruity, sweet and musky fragrance. I like it. I can’t say I love it because it smells familiar and not to my memory completely unique and unheard of. I think to me, Daisy was  really a unique and classic fragrance. Along with Chloe. But this one reminds me of those Victoria Secret or Bath and Body Works bath sprays you spritz on after a shower with hints of Sweet Pea. It really does smell nice but perhaps so can anything. Smell is a matter of personal preference anyway so you might as well give it a whiff the next time you’re near one. It also gives a refreshing “after-smell”.

There’s nothing like hot pink lips. Or, any kind of pink lips for that matter. It’s not as bold as a sexy, classic red and neither quiet as a flowery nude. I don’t know how many times I saw these babies on instagram, being tweeted and being ripped off the shelves at Priceline. Despite telling myself time and again that I didn’t need a new lipstick, I just had to. Plus priceline had a 2 for 1 deal and buying them at a regular 20+ dollar tag was way too out of my league for a drugstore purchase. I have to say that these are absolutely wonderful, now let’s take a look at why.

The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters state that:

So basically, you’re looking at absolutely moisturising lipsticks that have hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula and are said to boost moisture by 156% which is huge. What’s unique is that it has a gel formula and provides sheer to medium color with buttery shine. I like it already. I don’t tend to like my lipsticks super buttery though if that makes sense. I’d a rather a lipstick that feels natural on my lips than one I can “slip and slide” with.

It’s coming out in Singapore if it hasn’t already and I have to say it’s one of my all time favorites. I love it!

The Brush:

The brush reminds me of a zebra which it shouldn’t because it’s yellow and black instead of black and white. And it’s not a brush, it’s a comb. It has black zebra stripes which are holes that fill in with the mascara and you use the non-curved side to apply the mascara which I know is a new behaviour. The first time I used it, bimbotic I know, I used the yellow and obviously nothing happened. So use the stripey side, please. Comb mascaras are actually underrated. They do better for me in terms of defining, curling and lengthening!

What it’s supposed to do:

The Beauty Clinic I.P.I Lightmax face masks have stable vitamin C-AA2G, arbutin (known for whitening) and mulberry bark extract. We should all know that whitening doesn’t mean getting two shades lighter but it means fairer and more radiant skin. Every now and then you stumble across a make-up brand that may not be plastered on everyone’s hall of fame. Today I’ll be talking about Sportsgirl Make-up. I gave this a whiff last semester and plucked it off the shelf immediately. This actually does remind me of New York. My brother used to live right across Wall Street and I spent quite a few summers in the Big Apple looking over busy streets, strolling down Central Park and laughing at all the oddities at Times Square. Sniffing it once more reminds me of the sophisticated working woman in the latest khaki trench coat and posh heeled boots. It’s my love of the moment, and cliche as it sounds, the apple of my eye.

Exams are just around the corner and not only is it time to bring out the tim tams from the kitchen closet, highlighters and different colored pens out, but it’s also time to take special care of your skin. The minimal amount of sleep, the less than honorable diet of comfort food and the stress can make zits pop up faster than you can eliminate them. I always make sure I have face masks ready to brighten up the skin so I can fake a few hours of sleep when I’m out and about.

A few weeks ago, I did a giveaway on my facebook page about one of my all time favorite masks – the Leader’s Clinic Clinie I.P.L Whitelux Masks. A few days later, Cossy.com.sg asked if I would like to try out the Leaders Clinic Insolution Masks. Impressed by the Clinie line, I was more than happy to try out what they had to offer. Here’s an informational haul from the awesome package that they sent me and read on till the end to find out how you can win a box to call your own!

LUSH will always have a soft spot for me. I love walking into their stores and being greeted by what I call cakes of multicolored soaps and those classic black tubs that face masks, moisturisers and cleansers call home. In fact, I can pretty much tell if a LUSH store is just around the corner just by sniffing the air, it has a classic smell and  I love it. Today I’ll be doing a review of one of their best -sellers – the Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser. Just like any standard review, I’ll be talking about the packaging, the product, it’s claims and applying it so you can see the before and after effects of its application. Did you know LUSH is coming to Singapore very soon? I’m so excited.

Going to the drugstore can sometimes be a little daunting. There are tons of products stocked on the shelves and with much lighter price tags, it can only be either a joy ride or a roller coaster figuring out what to place in our shopping basket. Today, I’ll try to make that job easier by showing you my top 10 current favourite drugstore products are so your trip to the store can be that much more fun. Make-up Junkie or not, we’ve all been there when our wallets need to stop the diets and start piling on the weight for the winter.

One of my favourite make-up products of all time has to be the eyeshadow duos that NARS provides. They’re pigmented and you can clearly see why the two colors are married in the pan as the color combinations are well thought out and they should be, looking at the price tag. On my facebook page, I recently posted a picture of me off to a 21st, and I was requested quite a bit to do a tutorial:

So here I am with a tutorial and a little review of the NARS Eurydice Duo, one of my easy to do looks for any night or dinner out. It’s a duo I highly recommend. I won mine from a YouTube giveaway on TheSPNation! I usually judge my eyeshadows based on the packaging, colors, pigmentation and texture. Here’s a product description:

Hey Everyone,

Every now and then when I visit the drugstore, there will be a shiny new foundation that’s just come out. This one in particular has been on the shelves for a while now but that doesn’t make it not suitable for being relatively new. A foundation that boasts to be the perfect fit for your skin and coming from one of my favourite brands, Maybelline, I just had to get it. In this review, I’ll be talking about the claims of this foundation, the texture, colors, and overall look. It seems that Maybelline also recently changed the name of their colors. I’m usually a nude but I think they changed that color to a ‘nude beige’. I can say now that this foundation isn’t one of my favourites.

Hey Everyone!

Like a cream blush, liquid concealer has always been one of those products I’d rather only use if I had to. I love cream concealers and balm concealers because I think they are much easier to use, whip on and pop into my makeup travel bag.  However, with a liquid concealer, I have to whip out an extra brush, spread and then dab only to find that it seemingly does not last as long as my other balm or cream concealers. Yet, when the eye-bags hit from a sleepless night or two, there’s not much choice and the liquid concealers seem to work the best for this purpose.

Today, I’ll be giving a review of one of the first concealers I’ve ever used. Popular in Singapore and other Asian countries, ZA is a drugstore makeup brand that is commonly found at Watsons stores. Their ZA Perfection Concealer has won many accolades, been on the shelves for a while and is a liquid concealer for sure worth looking at.

Hey Everyone,

Time to add another post to my Ultimate Lipstick Review series. Probably one of the most overhyped products there are, are MAC lipsticks. I remember being crazy about them and now I’ve ended up with 12 or so lipsticks that I totally could do without. But despite the jazzy names and colors, is there really substance to these lipsticks? Honestly, in comparison to other lipsticks I’ve tried, they really lack. But, things are easier said than done so let’s look at one famous MAC lippie in Plink and forget about the YouTube hype that made me buy these lipsticks in the first place.

You can probably tell that I’m on a drugstore liquid foundation rampage. Actually, that rampage has been going on for quite some time now. There’s just something about foundation that makes me happy. I think it does the best job in transforming a face, it instantly takes away scars and redness, making your complexion flawless (well the good ones do at least). That and concealer and blush are probably necessities in ever makeup vanity. Today I’ll be adding into the archives a much loved foundation, the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation.

Packaging

Smart packaging. There’s no extra cap to drop and lose because the bottle has a twist function that allows for the foundation to be pumped out. I love pump bottles so much better because you can control how much of the foundation you need for the face. About 2-3 pumps is sufficient for mine.

Hey Everyone!

I have to say that one of the best feelings in this world besides laying on your bed after a long day is whipping on a nice, cold face mask. To add to that, I’ve been getting a lot of requests lately on what I’ve been doing for my skin. I’m blushing but most of you have loved how my skin has looked in my past few tutorials so I thought I might do a review on what I’ve been using lately, a very special sheet mask with not one step, but two.

Before I left for Melbourne, Bidanpo, a Korean skincare company known for their oriental medicine infused masks, gave me a few Bidanpo Mediental 2 Step Fusion masks to use and figuring that it’s a pretty cool mask with two steps, I thought I’d give it a try and I’m glad I did.

So we all know that Roseanne Tang is sort of on a bb cream craze lately and because of this craze, hopefully we all know what a bb cream is. If you still don’t, it’s a makeup and skincare product in one that doesn’t provide as much coverage as a liquid foundation can, but sure feels a lot lighter making it pretty perfect in the summer heat. Today, I’ll be doing a review on a much talked about bb cream online and offline, the L’egere Multi White BB Cream. I’ve wanted to get my hands on this for a while now and even considered purchasing it online –  but when I flew back home to Singapore, it was on the shelves and soon present in my shopping basket.

Hey Everyone,

Oddly enough, I’ve been really into taking care of my skin these days. Normally, I’d remove my makeup, maybe slap on a scrub or cleanser and call it a day. These days, I’m slowly venturing into nicer exfoliants and even serums. When I saw the Philosophy Microdelivery exfoliating wash was  on sale on the Urban Outfitters website, I had to grab it. Applauded everywhere, this baby was a purchase I simply couldn’t resist.

The Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating was comes in a medium sized bottle and claims the following:

1. Exfoliating facial cleanser that provies immediate resurfacing benefits

Having a schmexy dark lipstick in your collection can really amp things up, or shall I say “vamp” things up. Although I do need to work on the puns,  I do like Benefit products and one product I absolutely love are their lipsticks. Smooth, silky and very pigemented, these lipsticks for sure pack a punch when it comes to putting on a bold lip. Let’s take a closer look at their Silky Finish Lipsticks!

Packaging:

Benefit Silky Finish Lipsticks come in a sleek black metal tube. It’s like lipstick in a can. Lightweight, simple, there’s not much else to say about the packaging except to stare blankly at its no friills design. The lipstick is also tubular shaped meaning it doesn’t have that pointed slanted tip that most lipsticks are known for. Sometimes it gets tough around your cupids bow but other than that, there’s not much to yay or nay at these tubes of awesomeness.

Hey Everyone,

After about more than a month of studying for exams, I am now taking the exams so I haven’t been able to dedicate myself fully to the YouTube department just yet. I hope you don’t mind the influx of more general beauty basic posts as well as my current lipstick frenzy. Cool stuff will follow once I finish these dreaded papers. *Faints*. Next time, I want all my exams in one week. I had my running shoes on at the start of exam season, but now I’m just crawling through.

On a lighter note, thanks to my previous looks of the day on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/roseannetangrs), I’ve been getting a few questions about the lipstick that I’ve been sporting day in and day out this winter. We’ve all heard of it I’m sure – it’s the much loved, talked about and beautiful YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick. The gem I own is in Beige Ultime and today I’ll be doing my review of it.

There is always that one lipstick in your collection that makes you feel powerful. For me, it’s a lipstick that I’ve always cradled and that is the Chanel Rouge Allure in Super. The Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks are my ultimate favourite lipsticks. They are smooth on the lips but they feel light enough to be worn everyday. They do not carry a heavy scent yet their pigmentation is for sure something to yell loud and proud for. In fact, I like comparing them to being on Cloud 9. Little do we know that if you are a black haired beau, hot pink lipsticks will look great on you so read on!

The Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation has always been a product on the shelf that I’ve fo sho been curious about. I’ve wondered whether it had good enough coverage, if it was indeed a matte foundation and silly enough, whether it was slick enough to slide off. Until I bought it. I have to say that the first two mentioned traits are pretty true, but the latter will have to pass. Today, I’ll be doing a review about the much talked about the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and whether its supposedly tried and tested claims hold true.

What are the product claims?

This could be the most disgusting post that I’ve ever made. That’s because it showcases my two zits. I know, that’s gross Roseanne but trust me, it’s totally relevant to this review. Today I’ll be reviewing a much talked about acne treatment – it’s the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. In this review, I’ll be taking to new freshly baked zits and I’ll be applying them for two nights. Any longer than that anyway you’d think the medication wasn’t very affective I reckon right? My sincere apologies in advance for the images to come.

There’s just something about Japanese makeup that makes you want to run around in a flurry of pink, diamonds and kawaii. It’s the whole aura of funny colored lenses, much too flattering eye-lashes and voluminized hair in every color but your own.

When we think Asian makeup, that’s probably the image we’re able to muster up almost instantly. Face it, it’s the packaging and the girls at the purikura photobooths that have us wishing we were 2D. Personally though, I’ve never really bought into this packaging mainly for well two reasons. Number one being that I never felt that I could ever be priviledged enough to fall into the steretoype of having my index and middle finger up as my default pose ready to turn anyone into a bunny rabbit in photos and number two being the fact that I wasn’t skilled enough to read the packaging in the first place.

I apologize for the lack of blogging lately. I’ve been totally swamped by good old university work – mouth covered in chocolate and eye-bags the size of god knows what. Despite that, I’ve been on Lush’s tail to try every face mask they have. I’ve reviewed the Lush Brazened Honey Face Mask, and I’m here yet again to do another one. This time it’s the Catstrophe Cosmetic.

If you love blueberries and love them enough that you want to look like Willy Wonka’s Violet Beuraguard when she impulsively chews some gum that eventually turns her into a blueberry, then I’m very pleased to say that this is for you. Although the feeling will be temporary, you can relish in the fact that for that temporary 10 minutes, you will look like one. Congratulations.

Hey Everyone,

I admit that I’ve been reviewing BB products quite frequently of late but I have to say that they’re really interesting. They are a foundation, a make-up base and a cream that goes on as light as a feather. However, not many people celebrate these often “walk-past, and don’t look back” products. Nor do they know how to apply them. In this review, I’ll be giving my own thoughts after a good trial period of a new baby in the market by Rachel K, the Rachel K Color Control Blemish Balm with a tutorial showing you how to apply bb creams in general.

The packaging looks like some extraterrestrial lipstick ready to be launched into space. It does look like a lipstick for older women:

What’s this lipstick particularly about?

Hey Everyone,

I remember saying to myself not too long ago that I believed drugstore foundations weren’t as good as high end foundations. But, before you bring out the pitchforks and torches, this is probably one of the first drugstore foundations that marked my turning point into a new drugstore loving era. This is the Maybelline Superstay 24HR Foundation and if I were to sum it up in three words, it’s flawless, it covers, and it’s comfortable. There’s a reason why this is the second bottle that I’ve purchased.

The story to this foundation was a little funny. One of my best friends, Danielle, is one of those ladies who loves being tan. Even if I beg her to take the lighter foundation because I know it’s her color, she always insists that she’s the darker shade. It was one of those “I Told You So” moments and after quite a while bantering back and forth, I bought it from her. She’s quite a good saleswoman and she wanted to make up for lost profit. I’m not afraid to say that I am in love with this foundation and perhaps Danielle should buy the wrong color more often. I will make small comparisons with the Revlon ColorStayFoundation, because that’s my other favourite drugstore foundation.

Along with my MAC brushes, my NARS blushes are probably one of my most prized posessions in my make-up collection. In fact, they pretty much have a drawer to themselves. With racy names like “Orgasm” and “Deep Throat”, NARS created an international stir but a justified one at that for their blushes are simply amazing.  With beautiful shades and lasting colors, it’s pretty much what every blush should strive to be like.

I have in total six single NARS Blushes and one NARS Duo in Albatross and Torrid. I’ve also attatched ratings to each blush in the form of a scale of cute little red hearts. A magnificent, must get blush is 5 hearts and a blush you can skip is 1 heart. Note that although I’ve said that I’m in love with NARS blushes, the blushes with low ratings simply don’t suit my skintone but the formula remains the same. You’ll see what I mean.

Here’s a great mask that I used tons when I had exams last semester and one that I’ve recently re-discovered again. As you know, LUSH has a variety of masks available that treat various ailments like acne and dry skin but I tend to look for masks that do a bit of detox work after full week with makeup on. During that time I was in the middle of studying for exams. Think lots of junk food and late nights with my regular make-up routines on and in full swing. The Lush sales assistant suggested I use the Brazened Honey face mask to detoxify and exfoliate the damage I was causing from the late nights and possibly clogged pores so I bought this and it has to be one of my favourites from the LUSH mask range. Here’s my review of the LUSH Braznened Honey Face Mask.

Along with your foundation, concealer is probably the next best thing to covering up flaws. Actually, it is THE thing. It’s like tangible photoshop and with a simple pat of your fingertips, a much aggravated blemish can seemingly dissapear. As my guy friend put it, “it’s like magic!”. Correct. It’s simply the key to looking flawless. It’s the “lie” behind make-up but nonetheless a necessary life-saver.

So, this is a review of the MAC Studio Finish concealer. This concealer is no doubt my all time favourite, my holy grail, and the magic behind my seemingly flawless complexion (that really isn’t). Trust me, I really wanted to zoom up on my zits and acne scars just to show you how bad they were and display it in all its glory, but I couldn’t let myself subject you to that much horror so I decided to give that opportunity a miss. It’s quite unecessary but I have shown you the after picture and hopefully you’ll take my word for it that it really is unedited.

I might skip on the UDPP that day, but I’ll never skip on this. It’s the key to create a bare canvas upon your lids so that your eye-shadows show more true to colour and at times more vivid. Wow, your discussion yesterday was amazing. I really appreciated your thoughts about the issue!

Today I’ll be doing a review of the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. Bobbi Brown foundations are supposed to be gold so let’s see how this one holds up!

The foundation comes in a pump bottle which is convenient and doesn’t waste too much excess product. The product itself is surprisingly watery and thin, not like most foundations I’ve tried. At first pump, it seems like it wouldn’t provide any coverage, thinner than a tinted moisturiser but you’ll be surprised! The best way to use this would probably be a paddle brush if you need the coverage, if not a good clean stippling brush does a good job in blending everything together because it’s such a thin consistency.

Overall, I’m one happy reviewer. I loved the line for it’s fresh and clean feel and the packaging while their fruity scents made my morning and night routine enjoyable. The effectiveness of each product was pretty good. I used this line during exams and with an average of about 4-5 hours of sleep, I should have had more blemishes. Hello Everyone!

I hope your day is going stellar. Today I’ll be doing a review of a pretty stellar product – the highly raved Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. If ever you think of the brand Bobbi Brown, the shimmer bricks are probably one of the first products you can call up. These babies aren’t just blushes, or face powders, they’re shimmery highlighters that are supposed to add radiance and a healthy beam to any look.

Let’s look at the Packaging:

It’s packaged in a sturdy, commonly high-end case with a mirror and the brick much like a mineralized skinfinish, but baked in strips. The Body Shop has a very similar product as well, I think it’s called shimmer strips. The best way to use this is to take a fluffy white haired brush, just like the MAC 168 because it’s easier buffed onto the cheeks rather than patted on with say a smaller blush brush.

I have to stay that reviewing face masks are a challenge. You can’t use them everyday, you put them on once and you can’t really see the difference at times but I’m going to do my best for you. Here’s a review of the Leader’s Clinic Masks which were sponsored to me way back and I didn’t find the time to do until now. Because of the amount of masks given to me, I think doing them slowly in parts, highlighting three at a time is best. Hey Everyone,

The Urban Decay Book of Shadows isn’t just a makeup item, the whole lot have easily become the collectibles of the makeup world, making these babies pretty special. Perhaps it was the exclusivity, the mad rush to book a palette, the fact that it was a Disney and Alice in Wonderland collaboration that made the previous book of shadows so successful. Yet, the NYDC palette didn’t really rock the boat and I was surprised to see it still in stores when I came home from Melbourne but knowing that they are limited edition, I quickly swept one off the shelf.

I don’ know what it is, but I keep thinking to myself, “was it just an impulse buy or is the new Urban Decay NYDC Book of Shadows Vol. III really worth it?”

Hey Everyone,

I decided to make a combined post announcing my 4,000 Subscriber Giveaway and my drugstore favourites!! I know, I know, I vaguely recall saying that I’m all about the department stuff but I have recently discovered that many products at the drugstore have really impressed me. MAC got a little boring and my bank account started to lose digits so I decided to try out some YouTube holy grails and I have found a set of my own.

1. Tresemme Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner

I’m not gonna lie, I get a lot of questions about my hair. What do I put on it? What do I do to it? The answer is..really..nothing. But I absolutely must have a good shampoo and conditioner and if I don’t use conditioner, you do not want to see me. The two things I use in Australia thanks to the dry weather are the Tresemme Moisture Rich range and I find that these babies do make my hair silky soft and pretty. :) They’re about eleven dollars for big bottles so they aren’t too bad in the price department either. The only other shampoo and conditioner I’ll use is by Sunsilk and that’s the brand I use in Singapore because Tresemme isn’t available.

I think everyone on onsugar Singapore has one of these babies in their make-up stash thanks to Sophia (www.retailtherapy.onsugar.com), so I thought it would be fun to give my two cents worth about the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars to see if you agree. I first saw the paints on YouTube via xsparkage or petrilude and I’ve always wanted to get my hands on them to really see if they are all the buzz. So, when I saw them selling at IMATS, I picked up three or what was left of the red tones since I figured that would be the most wearable of the lot. OCC also supplies lip tars in wacky colours like purple, green and bright yellow.

Hello!

Confused at the counter? Don’t worry, I’ve tried my best to give you a guide to each finish and a few swatches of my own M.A.C lipstick collection and honestly, It’s pretty simple really.

In order of how pigmented the finishes are from least to greatest:

1. Glaze

The only finish I didn’t purchase any lipsticks from. Why? Little to no color pay off and a quiet sheen. It’s too sheer, it’s a bit useless actually but it does have a bit of moisturizing power. It’s like a tinted moisturiser. They look hot in the tube but it’s like the chiffon on top, maybe its that lipstick you use when you don’t want to wear anything that day and just want a little boost or as an addition to another lip color. Here’s a swatch from (www.beautyliciouslove.com), an external blog so you get what I mean:

This review has been sponsored by The Beauty Club (www.thebeautyclub.com.au) but of course, it’s 100% honesty to the maximum.

Beautiful packaging with the wand being very similar to the Rimmel Sexy Curves. I haven’t tried that mascara before though.

I had high hopes for this one, more because it was loved by TheCurrentCustom. But, I was a bit dissapointed. At the beggining, I absolutely hated it but I realized that all mascaras start a little wet right off the batt and you need a little more time so that the product dries a bit for it to perform at its best, but even its best disappointed. I mean, I still like the stuff. When you have eyeshadow on, it gives your lashes the dimension you need. Eyeshadow off..um. Yea.

Hey Everyone,

*This is a sponsored review, I did not purchase this product, Elizabeth Arden was kind enough to give this to me to review. So I know this is pretty much overdue compared to my video launch already, but here it is in blog form for all of you who are too lazy to hear me rant. so here we go:

Powder foundation to me was always hidden back in the recesses of my makeup never try list because I always thought that it could never ever achieve the same effects and coverage as a liquid. Looking natural versus Barbie was never a hesitating choice, I wanted to look like barbie minus the blonde hair and never walk out with a single blemish on my face. I was happy with liquid until as always my onsugar newspaper had a little article by the lovely Sarah Chaudry and Diana Salleh about how much they loved this stuff and since EA was kind enough to sponsor me, I was totally eager to give this one a homerun try. And, I am glad I did.

Hey Everyone,

I don’t know about you, but I have crowned my brushes as the diamonds of my collection and if anything messed them up not only would I cry, I would probably come after them with pitchforks and flaming torches. They’re my babies, cuddled in brush guards with clear nail polish sweeped across their silver names, so I figured, hey, it’s time I do a review!

Overview – General Thoughts:

I remember when I first saw MAC brushes on Youtube and just like many, I asked the number one question out there:” Do I really need a MAC Brush?”. And the answer is: Honestly, no. There are thousands of brushes out there -whether they come from drugstores, online from ebay or even Sigma but I think the most important thing to remember is that MAC brushes are basically luxury items and just like you running out there to dump a few thousand at Prada instead of a few at your local market, your neglected Auntie is probably perplexed at why you would pay $60 instead of $1 for a brush. And, MAC brushes aren’t worth thousands of dollars don’t get me wrong but they are at the high end area of the cosmetic brush market. But honestly, no one is going to see your brush down Orchard Road unless you feel like flailing your brush collection at people and who knows, they might even give their spare change.

Hey Everyone,

I don’t know about you but I have always been on the search for that special eye pencil that won’t drip, smudge or budge especially when applied on my water line and tight line. I’ve tried countless pencils – Revlon Colorstay, Maybelline, Clinique – but they have all been kicked aside as the disappointments of my make-up collection. I have only recently found MAC Technakohl in Graphblack and more so an answer to all my problems – Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils.

* Disclaimer: I was not sponsored these products and this is what I truly think of them.

Hi. Roseanne is in love.

We all know what it is and where it came from and its achievements that have piled up from a number of youtube gurus and the make-up obsessed are numerous but is the MUFE HD Foundation & Powder really worth it? Well, lets digest how awesome this foundation is… slowly..

HD Foundation – So what’s the lowdown?

The Make Up Forever Foundation is a foundation that conceals, keeps your face fresher for longer, doesn’t cake, while emanating an aura of flawlessness. It even won Allure 2008 Editor’s Choice and is best known for diffusing fine lines while keeping it oil-free. But how does it do it? Simply put: Mica & Silica. The Make Up Forever HD foundation kicks everyone else’s buttocks because it has Cyracide Mica (otherwise known as light diffusing particles) and although it sounds dangerous, its the key to creating a soft focus effect, blurring blemishes and sweeping pores under the bed. However, I think its the silica thats the star of the show. If you have acne prone skin, don’t worry because there are three different kinds of silicone in this foundation that have a molecular structure that is too large to absorb into the skin sort of like: you = particle and you know those skinny jeans you bought a few years ago – yea thats the pore.

Hey Everyone,

So a month ago, I was sponsored by The Beauty Club to do a review on the Biotherm Aquasource range meaning that no, I did not purchase these products :) It was really either this or the Clinique 3 step skincare system because a few of my friends used/still use Biotherm and they said that the range really cleared up their acne. And seeing that I wasn’t doing well the harsh way by using proactiv, why not the kinder approach? That was probably my number one desire and I have used this range for over a month, so here are the three stars of the show:

Step 1: Biotherm Biosource Hydra-mineral Cleanser Toning Mousse

Hey beauties,

I know for all of you out there who watch my youtube videos, you’re probably thinking i’m a crazy cat for being such a make-up shop-a-holic in aussieland haha and spending ridic amounts of money on make up but don’t fret, I have a reason :P I’ve never really bought MAC or other high end brands until I got to Australia, actually at all because I told myself that when I go to uni, that I would allow myself to do this and I’ve honestly never been happier.

The thing is, although I think drugstore make-up is great, the quality in certain products from higher end brands cannot really be surpassed. For example, powders from MAC including the MAC MSFs and the Blot powder are unbeatable. I’ve tried other drugstore products in powder but I could never get that flawless look with them. I can really see the quality in higher end products, I’ve realized, and these higher end products make very good investments. I use em everyday, so I can lean in on a littler pampering :P And c’mon, the morning make up routine for me is so much better when I know i’m using the brands I worship on youtube. It makes my morning. I haven’t been unsatisfied with a single high end product keeping to the fact that I think every penny is worth it when I buy them thus far..well mainly because I stalk them on youtube for a LONG time before getting them.

Hello :)

I just wanted to post a review about NYX Lipsticks which I am absolutely loving at the moment. I don’t have any picatures because I forgot to take them and now they’re packed in a bag and my sister’s friend has just moved into my room so I’m gonna post my recent video on here which is basically what I want to say:

Wow. I don’t have much time here…1 more full day! Tomorrow! Omy gosh, its really surreal.

One band I’m LOVING is The Script! I just discovered it although they’re famous for The Man Who Can’t be Moved:
