Hey Everyone!

hi

It’s always a good thing to hear about new products a little earlier than everyone else, especially when they haven’t hit the stores yet. So, here’s a new one for you –  the Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle and Pore Reducing Cream (let’s refer to it as the PWPRC)! This new cream from Kiehl’s will only be available in stores next month (in May) and is a brand new anti-ageing and wrinkle fighter cream!

wrinkles

But you’re probably thinking  - Roseanne, you’re far from getting wrinkles, you’re only 22! True but did you know that the loss of elasticity in your skin begins in our twenties? Maintaing elasticity is fundamental to preserving our supple faces – it keeps us from forming facial lines. The Kiehl’s PWPRC is unique because it uses two ingredients – Copper PCA and Calcium PCA. I mean have you ever heard of copper skincare?

smooth

Kiehl’s found out that to protect and improve the skin’s elasticity, you have to organize and protect the skin’s elastic fiber network, protect and strengthen the skin barrier and restore hydration at the same time. It’s a multi-pronged approach. The science behind using Copper as a key ingredient in this skincare product stems from the fact that Copper and Calcium are both micronturients that are required by the human body to function. They then paired this with PCA that is naturally found in our skin, so it’s overall absorbed even better by our body. If we want to get even deeper into the science of things, Copper helps to simulate our DNA to produce more elastin, binds to lysyl oxidase that helps in the linking of elastin and it is lined to the remodeling of elastin through the regulation of key enzymes. It’s also an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from stress and pollution.  Calcium on the other hand, is critical for cell turnover and regulation of the lipid barrier process that helps the skin to absorb nutrients better. Overall, it’s a great combination!

hydration

Science out of the way, the textures of the cream are extremely rich and thick. This is for those of us who need a heavy duty moisturiser, it almost has a texture similar to Lanolin creams you can find in Australia. Saying that, it looks like it can for sure improve our pores and deliver intense hydration – which is actually great for pores and blackheads because it looses them up. I still need to try it out more to get a verdict in! There’s the PWPRC cream and also the eye cream!

eye

So what’s the research stats? Within 4 weeks, a consumer study found out that 81% reported fine lines and wrinkles were visibly reduced and 89% said that their skin texture appears smoother.  A clinical study found a 49% reduction in puffiness and 38% reduction in dark circles too. Thats definitely something to look forward to come May.

I just wanted to also comment that Kiehl’s is having a price cut! And a permanent price-cut for even their top best sellers! Expect about 20% discount for the items pictured below. I’m throughly excited to say that their Calendula Toner, Ultra Facial Cleanser and Cream and Creme De Corps are all at lower prices! Gotta check them out now at Kiehl’s stores!!

pcut

Kiehl’s has always been on my need to try out list and I’m finally getting into the mood of it! I’m using the SPF 50 now and loving it so I will do a review soon!

Stay tuned to more updates :) Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!

Hey Everyone!

To be honest, the first time I saw Cetaphil was  when it was stacked up in my parent’s bathroom. My Dad swears by the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser which was recommended by his dermatologist  for helping cure his skin condition at the back of his neck. He has been using it every day and has seen massive improvements . Yet it wasn’t probably the first time I heard about it either. Cetaphil has long been a holygrail product that is not only effective but affordable .  I remember way back  when the first time I used it and I fell in love with it’s non-soap formula. Like an old flame,  I’ve fallen in love again so when Cetaphil contacted me to be their Cetaphil Facebook Expert Tips Ambassador, I couldn’t be happier.

As Ambassador, I will be  giving webisodes of my Skincare tips  answering your questions on topics from how to remove make-up properly to protecting your skin daily. Join me on the Cetaphil Singapore Facebook Page if you want to be part of it all! So here’s a haul of Cetaphil’s best sellers so you can get the low-down on these babies and how to win a  full set of Cetaphil Products later of your own!

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser  (237 mL)

The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser ought to be the star of the show. It has been talked about so much and it really is like nothing I’ve tried before. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin cleanser is not only suitable for all skin types, it can cleanse both the body and face (which is why my Dad uses it for his body and I use mine for my face).

It’s a very versatile product and because the gel that you pour out is so gentle, it doesn’t cause skin irritation and can be used for even the most sensitive of skin. The cleanser also happens to be soap-free and pH balanced (did you know that our skin has an optimal pH and that most cleansers aren’t pH balanced therefore stripping away natural oils?) – bet you didn’t. And better yet, it can be used with our without water making it great for removing foundation.

Although you’ll have to wait till I do a full review, I’ve loved it for a while now. When you pour it out onto your hand, it is a cloudy smooth and silky gel. It’s as if the cloudy bits make it so silky. As you apply the cleanser, you can really feel it gliding and it is unlike any other cleanser – it’s just soft and smooth..and well a little hard to describe. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser is also fragrance free which is great. Cetaphil is not only recommended by dermatologists, it’s affordable and accessible by people like you and me.

2. Cetaphil DailyAdvance Hydrating Lotion (85g)

The Cetaphil DailyAdvance Hydrating Lotion although it claims to be for dry to very dry skin can also be used for normal skin. Not only is it a face moisturiser, it also is great for your body too just like the Cetaphil cleanser. It’s core offering is it’s Epidermal Replenishing Complex that hydrates skin for 24 hours and it’s quickly absorbed.

The lotion is more luxurious and creamy than what is expected out of a lotion. It absorbs quickly and I like to use it for my arms and can’t wait to use it more in London when the winter comes and I’ll be scrambling for moisturisers!

3. Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense Sunscreen (550mL)

I’m always on the look-out for the next best sunscreen. These skincare products are one of the most important but is often overlooked. When we think skincare, we think of cleansers, toners and moisturisers but to seriously care for your skin, we are always in need for a good sunscreen. The Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense sunscreen is actually SPF 50+ which is a pretty high SPF, great for whether like Singapore..or Australia where the suns rays can be pretty potent. It is also suitable for all skin types, provides broad spectrum  UVA/UVB protection, is easily absorbed and leaves no white residue. Even better, you can use it for body too the next time you’re at the beach.

I’ve been using this daily but I haven’t come up with a consensus just yet, you’ll have to wait for my full review . It gives you a fantastic glow and after you properly work it into the skin, the white residue quickly disappears which is great for make-up fanatics like you and me!

Did you know this sunscreen ha s ablend of 7 UV filters? Pretty noteworthy.

Hey Everyone!

Fancl to me has always been one of those brands I’ve wanted to try  for so long, but never got around to doing it. From the super bright store lights, to the beautiful sales assistants dressed to the T, I’ve always been curious at what they had to offer. I mean c’mon, Japanese beauty products belong to a whole new world and I happen to be a fan of the whole thing. Not only do they offer skincare, they also offer supplements to just about any womanly ailment out there, whether it’s fiber  to slimming to hormones for skin clarity. I find that pretty cool.

But if you’re unfamiliar with Fancl, Fancl is a very popular Japanese brand here in Asia created in the 1980s which believes in the philosophy of “Mutenka”. “Mutenka” is a holistic approach to a lifestyle that advocates “fresh, pure and safe” and one that is free of additives and stressful elements. That being said, their products are also free of potentially harmful perservatives and other additives. It is an innovative beauty and skincare company that has now expanded to Inner Care beauty products like TenseUp Ex, Bitoki, HTC Collagen, and over 400 other beauty products. How awesome!

This is my first time trying out Fancl Products, so here is a haul and my first impressions of the lot! I got these babies thanks to Fancl’s invite to their Fancl Ballet of Beauty. It was an awesome experience which I’ll tell you all about later!

1. Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil

The Fancil Mild Cleansing oil is I think the star of Fancl’s skincare line. To be honest, when I was a noob at make-up and skin-care, I thought people who slathered oil on their faces to cleanse were crazy. But little did I know that oil can actually serve to cleanse better and effectively remove make-up better. Fancl’s Mild Cleansing Oil uses unique nanotechnology to break makeup down so that it can be rinsed off easily. The oil contains meadow foam oil which cleans out your pores and says goodbye to whiteheads and blackheads. It removes all traces of make-up effortlessly, clears out keratin plugs, minimizes pores and improves skin texture.

After using it for a while, it really does remove make-up well. You’d have to be careful not to wet your face first because I think it more effectively removes make-up with direct contact with it. Simply pump some of the clear oil into the your hands and rub the makeup off in circular motions. The stuff instantly removes any eye-makeup including mascara and my skin feels much softer after use. I’m liking it so far but I’m curious as to why Fancl products are all so small! These babies also have expiry dates. This one in particular will only last you 120 days!

2. Fancl Facial Washing Powder (SGD$ 26.00 for 50g)

When they brought out the foam at the event, I was suprised that the creamy and dense foam was created with the Fancl Facial Washing Powder. I’ve also seen ads on this around and thought it was a cool product. After all, usually foaming cleansers are already foamed up and you don’t have to do any work. But remember the philosophy of Mutenka? This baby doesn’t have those additives (SLS and SLES) that other foaming cleansers have. That’s why you gotta do the hard work yourself.  Because it is such a dense foam, it is able to lift out impurities without making your skin feel tight.

Fancl also wishes that you don’t use any cotton or cotton wool buds. They suggest using your clean fingers. Because the foam is so dense, you don’t even need to touch your face when you apply it. Just move the foam gently on your skin without touching it with your fingers. It’s weird and I would show you, but I decided not to since they didn’t give me the puff to foam this baby up! That’s right, the Fancl Washing Powder comes with a foaming puff that you use to make the foam so that it becomes dense and creamy. I’ve been just trying to use my fingers and I’m failing miserably.

But it’s still an interesting and cool product! I just need that foaming puff and I can’t wait to use it more!

3. Fancl Lotions – Fancl Lotion (SGD $29.50) & Fancl Milky Lotion (SGD$29.50)

After removing your make-up and cleansing, the next step is to apply Fancl Lotions. Fancl offers two lotions – the Fancl Lotion and the Fancl Milky Lotion. The Fancl lotion protects the skin from daily stress factors like UV rays and dryness while restoring natural functions for softness. The moisturising agent within the lotion enhances penetration and delays the release of moisturising agents which prolongs the duration of …moisturisation. So basically, not all the goodies in the bag spill out, they spill out slowly.

The Fancl Milky Lotion however has the added benefit of sealing in moisture and nutrients. The Milky lotion has veiling agents which are wrapped in Lecithin capsules which prolongs moisture retention within the skin. It also can protect the skin from external irritants. I haven’t tried these babies yet to be honest, but I’ll get around to doing it!

#4 Fancl Overnight Hydrating Pack (Limited Edition, SGD $56, available from 24th August 2012 at Fancl Counters)

This Limited Edition product is an overnight leave-on mask. I love overnight masks, I think they do wonders after a good rest. You wake up to your skin feeling uber soft, I love it! This one in particular nourishes and infuses your skin with moisture as you sleep. It is a silky veil that supports skin repair and protects skin from moisture loss as you sleep. It has four key ingredients. These include Silk Peptide  (has a similar structure to our own skin and seals it so that moisture loss does not occur) and Rooibos extract (South African herb rich in minerals and can control sebum oxidation), Acetyl Hyaluronic Acid (Keeps skin moist and soft) and Amino Capsules (delivers these nutrients into the skin quickly).

It feels super silky and soft on the skin. Just pump a few pumps and spread evenly. Go to bed, and you wake up with super soft skin. It’s like magic!

I just wanted to thank Fancl for putting on such an awesome event to get to know us at the Fancl Ballet of Beauty! Can you spot me?

We even got to have our skin tested out by the beautiful Fancl girls. Apparently I have well-moisturised skin with 72 points, good collagen count and not bad in skin clarity!

Yay! I’m proud of myself and this thing is awesome!

Before dinner, all of us took Fancl’s Calorie Limit. It’s a all natural health supplement that helps you maintain your weight no matter how much you stuff in. Well, take that lightly, I’m sure it sort of still matters! But hey, how cute are these supplements!

This was totally unexpected, but we had a duo of ballerinas visit is while we dined. They danced beautifully. I have great respect for ballerinas. They have so much discipline and it’s a lot of hard work. Hats off to them!

To end it all, the ballerina was part of the Fancl demonstration and danced off!

So there you have it! I’ll probably be doing a more detailed review of the mild cleansing oil and the washing powder!

Hope you like this post!

Hey Everyone!

Switzerland is probably known for chocolate, a stack of beautiful mountains and of course natural solutions for skincare. Ujene Skincare is an international icon from Switzerland made with only the finest and purest Swiss ingredients  so when they contacted me, I couldn’t resist checking them out. In fact, so much detail goes into this skincare line that every ingredient can be traced back to its source and origin!

The Puriste Collagen Collection aims to do three things – plumps, firms and lifts instantly. The main ingredient in all of these babies is something called OVILUXE. It is a top grade stuff that is natural, bio compatible, cell adhesive and 99% purity triple helix collagen. With OVILUXE, your skin becomes a moisture-magnet , plumping up with vital moisture within your skin. It is also free from parabens, formaldhydes, PEG’s, mineral oils, paraffins, essential oils and synthetic fragrances and dyes amongst others. So if you have sensitive skin, this is probably a holy grail product for you! Here’s a showcase of the collection and my first impressions!

1. Ujene Skincare Puriste Collagen Serum (SGD$130)

Serums are great additions to your skincare because they provide concentrated amounts of special ingredients to treat your skin. The Ujene Skincare Puriste Collagen Serum is 10% of Ujene skincare’s star of the show – OVILUXE – that can help revive and give you even a “natural face lift”. This serum in particular also contains Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and other natural botanical extracts like Aloe Vera and Ginseng that provided anti-oxidant nourishment and aims to firm, refine and brighten your complexion.

Serums should be applied just after cleansing and toning and before your moisturiser and after skin care like sunscreen. I absolutely love the eye-dropper. It makes it easier to apply. I feel like because serums are so concentrated, you only need 1-2 drops for your entire face. I simply spread across my face the really nice gel texture and then I pat it into the skin. This one feels a bit sticky at first but does dry nice and smooth.

2. Ujene Skincare Puriste Collagen Day Cream (SGD$120)

The  Ujene Skincare Puriste Collagen Day Cream uses skin stimulating natural lipids to help your skin achieve both hydration and cell renewal. Not only does it contain OVILUXE, it also contains Aldeluxe which is proven to boost Collagen production up to 300% in only 7 days and protect against UVA and DNA damage. Stocked with antioxidants, it helps stimulate turnover of dead skin to reveal a more youthful and plumper complexion.

The texture of the day cream is amazing. It is a luxurious and light texture that blends beautifully into the skin without feeling heavy or oily which is an important trait of any day cream because you want to be able to apply your make-up over it. We’ll have to see about the skin-care effects though! In fact, the whole thing about what Collagen I and Collagen III does is a bit different. Collagen Type III is termed the “youth collagen” because when we are 4 years old, about 90% of the collagen in our body is Collagen Type III but when we are 50 years old, we start producing Collagen Type I so that’s why Ujene uses Collagen Type III to make our skin youthful.

3. Ujene Skincare Puriste Collagen Eye Gel (SGD$70)

The Puriste Collagen Eye Gel deeply moisturises skin around the eye and is a blend of eye actives, OVILUXE and claims to reduce eye-bags in just 14 days. Your skin around your eye should look plumper, smoother and lines should just disappear. Antioxidants like Vitamin C ensure that your eye is well protected from free radicals and other  harmful environmental elements.

To be honest, eye creams and eye gels don’t do much for me. I don’t normally have large eye-bags or swollen eyes nor do I have wrinkles around the area. Could be that I’m just 21, but I’ll hover over the fact that it’s  just not part of my package. Nonetheless, it does absorb nicely into the skin without greasiness and would be a great addition to anyone who do have puffy eyes.

So there we have it! If you have sensitive skin, need firming and plumping via premium Collagen with the science to back it up, you might want to give it a try!

Hey Everyone!

My friends say that halving an avocado and scooping it with a silver spoon into thy mouth is one of the best feelings for them in the world. It’s in our sandwiches, even in our sushi, and now it’s being bottled by Crabtree & Evelyn. But honestly,  it’s no surprise. Avocados happen to be one of the most nutrient rich foods in the world – packed with caretonoids (the stuff that helps your eyes) and rich in omega three fatty acids that not only make you smarter but can also make your skin glow with natural and healing properties. I say the perfect solution to brains and beauty? Just maybe.

Crabtree & Evelyn contacted me to see if I’d like to try their new Avocado, Olive & Basil collection. With that combination, I couldn’t help but say yes. Here’s a haul! The collection boasts revitalizing botanicals from the Mediterranean and with avocado, olive and basil, you can be pretty much sure that it will help soothe and moisturize like no other combination can. Olive oil has been used for centuries for it’s antioxidant rich properties to heal and ensure that skin is soft and supple. Let’s get moisturized!

1. Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Skin Revitalising  Body Lotion (SGD$35)

The collection’s revitalising body lotion is formulated with shea butter and avocado to provide you a really nice smooth experience. It conditions dry skin, uses basil extract to soothe and avocado butter to moisturise.

Body Lotions tend to be much lighter than body butters. It’s a great after shower product that you can use everyday. I tend to whip this on at night after my shower and it leaves just the most beautiful smell. The whole collection smells really fresh.

To use it, simply squirt some of the product into the palm of your hand and slather away!

As you can see, the texture of the product is quite light. It’s a creamy consistency that doesn’t feel heavy when applied. A very smooth talker overall!

2. Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Skin Nourishing Body Butter (SGD$60)

The body butter from this collection features a very luxurious and deep conditioning product that again uses avocado and shea butter as well as beeswax, yes you read that right, beeswax to rejuvenate and produce exceptionally soft skin.

The product comes in a cute tub. Simply use your fingers to take some of the product out and slather away! I tend to use body butters during the dry winters in Australia because my legs tend to be super dry hidden under layers. For that purpose, I usually use body butters to solve the problem. Lotions are more like everyday after shower products. Body butters are much more heavy duty.

Look how thick and stiff that butter is! It kind of reminds me of Dairy Queen Blizzards and how they have to hold it over their head before they give it to you.

When spread out, the product has a nice whipped consistency. It’s not sticky and doesn’t dry gross either!

4. Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Ultra Moisturizing Hand Therapy (SGD$33)

If there is one product I really like from Crabtree & Evelyn, it has to be their Hand Therapy products. If you want those “smooth, princess, I don’t do work at all” kind of hands, wear this product on a regular basis and you might be one step closer to sporting a tiara. This is such a luxurious cream, quite a different texture to your lotions or body butters, and is something I think that is unique to Crabtree & Eveyln .

The Avocado, Basil and Olive hand therapy has ultra moisturizing ingredients and is formulated with a blend of vitamins like C,E , and tocotreinol which is rich in antioxidants. It doesn’t only heal the skin on your hands, it’s good for your nail beds and cuticles as well. It is just an amazing product and I highly recommend trying it!

You can see just how thick and luxurious it is coming out of the metal tube!

Just take some and smooth and blend on hands!

5. Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Revitalizing Bath & Shower Gel (SGD$30)

This has to be my favorite product from this collection and if there is anything that you should try, it is this. The shower gel, although a much underestimated product sitting in your shower, is formulated with avocado extract, rejuvenating olive fruit extract and soothing basil extract for skin.

Now, I know you’re probably thinking. Roseanne, how on earth is your favourite product from this collection, the shower gel. Well, this shower gel feels different, it feels like you’re washing up with liquid honey olive oil. Seriously. You really feel the difference. It’s the smoothest run ever. Plus, the fresh smell permeates your whole shower almost like aromatherapy. I love it.

So there we have it! A little preview of the new collection in stores now at Crabtree & Eveyln. Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you get anything. My favourites would be the shower gel and hand therapy!

Much Love,

Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I have some exciting news to announce! I’m ambassador! No, not ambassador of Singapore, silly (I wish).  This post marks my first online ambassadorship with VanityTrove.com! I’m so excited. As their ambassador, I will be responsible for unveiling each month’s trove to you here on roseannetangrs.com. Plus, I’ll be holding random giveaways every now and then and I invite you in advance to attend all of them.

If you haven’t read my previous post on VanityTrove, VanityTrove hand-picks a set of themed beauty products and delivers them to your doorstep every month. It’s a fantastic concept and I totally love the picks that VanityTrove gives out including high end brands like Lancome to Clinique and niche brands like Yadah. It’s absolutely perfect for people looking to try new products every month or to expand your beauty knowledge about what’s swimming out there. And, hey who doesn’t like surprises delivered to your doorstep, either that or you, my friend, have a crush on the mailman. I wouldn’t blame ya. So let’s see what’s in January’s Trove shall we?

First of all, I have to say that the VanityTrove comes packaged really nicely, like one of those boxes you take out from Louis Vuitton. Except, it’s white and pink, not brown, and well not Louis Vuitton. Besides the fact, it’s a hard board box, pink and your stuff is neatly encased in pink tissue paper. What’s not to love?

 The box slides right open!

Every box comes with a personal letter from Victoria Tan, spokesperson of VanityTrove, welcoming the month ahead. It’s really personal. This trove is about rejuvenation, after the hustle and bustle of the festive season. It’s time to go natural and organic this month so it’s totally appropriate that they’re including brands like YADAH, which happens to be a new Korean brand.

But, seriously, enough talk, and let’s get hauling!

1. Leader’s Clinic Face Mask – Aquaxyl Filler 2-Step Face Mask, RRP: 10 sheets for $75 Full Size

I’ve talked about Leader’s Clinic quite a bit! They’re a dermatologist tested Korean skincare brand that boasts top korean celebrity clients. It’s no wonder that VanityTrove was nice enough to include this little beauty in the box. This face mask is part of a best-selling range in Korea and is known for it’s ultra thin silk cellulose material that glides on like a second skin. They’re also made of certified plant extracts, have no artificial preservatives and are Paraben-Free! This Aquaxyl Filler mask in particular is a 2-step face mask with an ampoule that maximizes the potential of the mask when applied first. It aims to brighten, tighten pores and moisturize your skin.

Quick Beauty Tip: Put your face mask in the fridge for a really relaxing session!

You can also check my other Leader’s Clinic reviews and hauls right here:

2. YADAH Beauty Pack, RRP: 1 pack for $10.90 Full Size

YADAH Skincare from Korea is newly launched in Singapore and has launched it with VanityTrove! This range boasts organic ingredients based on natural plant extracts like plant oil, floral water, essential oil, barks and even traditional herbs. The main ingredient in most YADAH skincare products is the Opuntia ficus extract or cactus extract which has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is great for sensitive or troubled skin!

In the beauty pack, you get a YADAH brightening face mask with active ingredients like mulberry, green tea and orange extracts that help moisturize and brighten your skin. You’ll also receive sample sizes of the Pure Green Toner, Pure Green Emulsion, Sun creams, brightening ampoule, and even a cleansing nose pack. I can’t wait to learn more about this brand and I have to say this is a pretty good way to get a taste of basically everything!

Quick Beauty Tip: Confused at the number of products to apply in your morning or night routine? Simply think – cleanse, tone, apply serums or ampoules and then apply your moisturiser – it’s that simple!

3. Olivella Shampoo and Conditioner, RRP: Shampoo (500mL for $17.90), Conditioner (500mL for $26.90) Full Size

Time to revolutionize your showers! The Olivella Shampoo and Conditioner is formulated with 100% Natural Virgin Olive Oil which makes these two babies extra moisturizing. It de-tangles while hydrates effectively and is suitable for normal, dry, and chemically treated hair! Cool beans. I’ve never tried Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner before!

Quick Beauty Tip: Olive oil isn’t only a great hydrator, it’s also a great natural make-up remover. Substitute it with your ordinary make-up remover and it takes away even the toughest of make-up while giving you more than plenty skincare benefits!

4. Angel Lip Tint & Cheek Stain (Juicy Red), RRP: 3mL – $10.90 Full Size

This is probably the coolest product in the box. We all know Benefit’s Benetint and we are probably real familiar with their Posietint and now the new ChaChaTint. To be honest, I’m scared of tints. I tried it once in the girl’s bathroom to touch-up at uni and ended up looking like Krusty the Clown’s late grandma. But, that was before I learned how to use it properly.

The Angel Lip Tint & Cheek Stain is a special tint because the colorants are paraben-free and are extracted from plants – mainly red tomatoes and gromwell flowers! I find that pretty amazing. Safe to say, it has natural and safe ingredients that help to enhance your natural lip and cheek color, giving you a beautifully rosy glow. Here it is on yours truly. I dabbed a bit on my fingers (it’s very watery) and applied it on my lips and cheeks. Pretty right?

5. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, RRP: 50mL for $75 Full Size

This is one of Clinique’s best selling products, and is termed the “ultimate drink for your skin.” It’s a light and comfortable gel that plumps your skin for a full 24 hours and is ideal for all skin types. The formula is known for giving and instant radiance and supple boost the skin and makes a great travelling companion after a long haul flight. We all know how gross we get after those trips! I haven’t tried this product from Clinique before either so I’m defo looking forward to it!

Quick Beauty Tip – Know your skin type first before diving into buying a moisturiser. You always need to wear a moisturiser if you have dry skin but those with oily skin may produce enough to skip this step in their routine.

And there we have it, this month’s January Vanity Trove!

Hey Everyone!

Don’t you hate it when you just want to try a product but you don’t want to spend a hundred bucks buying the full-size? Story of my life. Don’t you wish you could just get a sample of the product? Well, thankfully, there are now websites like VanityTrove that send you a series of samples every month to try to your pleasure. It allows you to try a range of products without dishing out the extra pennies so when they contacted me, I was happy to help them out to tell you more about this beautiful box of surprises.

VanityTrove boasts a great concept. Once you choose from a monthly or yearly subscription, Vanity Trove will hand deliver you a series of samples in a themed box. Whether it’s December and the holiday season or February and Valentines Day, you’ll never know what they’ll send you next. These samples may be from yet to be discovered brands or timeless and cult classics! Nevertheless, they will send you 4-5 hand picked and deluxe sample size beauty products. You can also send these boxes as gifts to friends and family. They were nice enough to send me their December box so let’s open it up shall we?

The box comes beautifully packaged! I was surprised, it was like opening up a high end package. In fact, I’m pretty sure Louis Vuitton packages their wallets and bags in boxes like these and you have to love the pink tissue paper! Hmm…

When you first open it up, you’re greeted with a nice letter from Vanity Trove describing the box. It’s like the Editor’s letter telling you about the theme. The December VanityTrove box is about pampering you with luxurious products this Christmas understanding that you’ll have those late night escapades and parties. They’ve hand picked the perfect beauty products to keep your skin hydrated and fresh-looking all the time!

Each box comes with a list of products that they’ve included in the box and a description of why it’s in there – this is really useful if you have no idea what you’re looking at! It’s nice to see that they put in a good amount of thought into what they’re putting into the box as well.

Well enough of the jibber jabber, let’s see what’s in the box!

1. Snail Street AC Trouble Mask

The 3 in 1 multi BioControl Mask contains snail extracts which helps to control troubled skin. Snail secretions help work on scarring by softening and dissolving existing scar and damaged tissues and rebuilds collagen and elastin.

If you have acne scars, then these masks are supposed to do you wonders if you’re brave enough to disregard the fact that they do contain a bit of escargot. A full size version of this baby with five sheets costs $32.90 but the box gives you two of them!

2. $50 Skin Inc (SkinC) Gift Voucher

I’ve always eyed that shop at the basement of ION that is SkinC and wondered what they’re all about. That shop is full of small little vials apparently and each vial does a different thing for your skin and provides a different supplement. You mix and match the supplements and basically customise your skin routine that way. Pretty interesting stuff and I look forward to putting this voucher into good use!

3. Dann’s Daily Coffee Beans

It might be a little silly, but these coffee beans smell amazing. Call it my half satisfied coffee addiction but when you first open this box, the aroma of these coffee beans hits you like monday morning at the office. They’re organic, alkaline coffee beans that give a full bodied smooth flavour. I reckon VanityTrove understands that we probably aren’t equipped to process these beans so if you bring these beans to Dann’s Daily, you can get a free cup of coffee. Their cupcakes are steamed as well.

I was happy to see these two babies included!

4. SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion

This is a cult product and has made me curious for too long. It contains AHA, BHA, and Pitera (the star of the show) to remove residual dead skin cells and improve the texture and tone of the skin. It prepares the skin for moisturiser and serum and gives the skin a healthy glow. A full size will set you back SGD $114.

5. SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser

If the lotion isn’t enough, there’s always the facial treatment cleanser. This baby is one of the most raved about skin products in the world. It’s a very thick and luxurious cream cleanser that moisturises and soothes with Wild Rose Extract and Pitera. A full size is SGD$89 for 120g.

and there’s more!

6. Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Extract

This little bottle makes you younger. I don’t know if it really does or not, but it claims to have “youth proteins” that eliminates the signs of ageing. It’s a pretty well-known product from Lancome to make your skin baby bottom smooth with ten years of research and a bunch of international patents to it’s name, I probably wouldn’t doubt it. A full size is SGD$ 245 for 75mL

7. SkinC Reinforce Ceramide Serum

This little vial contains four different types of ceramides to enforce the skin’s protective barrier. This prevents dehydration of the skin and protects it from harmful environmental factors like UV rays and can even help with eczema! Cool beans. A full size is SGD$128 for 35 mL.

8. Lancome Virtuouse Mascara

I’m excited about this one! I’ve heard so much about Lancome mascaras. This is supposed to help with volume and length for a bolder look while helping with definition for 12 hours. The brush and formula work together to dramatically thicken and lengthen lashes! A full-size is SGD$50!

And there we have it! I have to say that VanityTrove picked some awesome high-end brands to try out that I would have never tried out. Despite wanting to try the SK-II Facial Treatment Lotion, I probably wouldn’t be able to fork out S$114 for something that I haven’t tried out and that may or may not work out. This service is pretty nifty for people like me actually.

And it’s time for a Giveaway!

Hey Everyone!

Exams are just around the corner and not only is it time to bring out the tim tams from the kitchen closet, highlighters and different colored pens out, but it’s also time to take special care of your skin. The minimal amount of sleep, the less than honorable diet of comfort food and the stress can make zits pop up faster than you can eliminate them. I always make sure I have face masks ready to brighten up the skin so I can fake a few hours of sleep when I’m out and about.

A few weeks ago, I did a giveaway on my facebook page about one of my all time favorite masks – the Leader’s Clinic Clinie I.P.L Whitelux Masks. A few days later, Cossy.com.sg asked if I would like to try out the Leaders Clinic Insolution Masks. Impressed by the Clinie line, I was more than happy to try out what they had to offer. Here’s an informational haul from the awesome package that they sent me and read on till the end to find out how you can win a box to call your own!

 About Leaders Clinic:

If you haven’t heard, Leaders Clinic has been established in South Korea since 2001 by a group of dermatologists who developed a professional skincare line based on treatments used in their clinic for skin troubles most common to women. In fact, these masks are loved by many Korean celebrities (they have such beautiful skin, it’s not even funny) and have won 5 patents, and a national innovation and scientific honor by South Korea. 500,000 of these masks sell monthly in Korea and now Cossy is the sole distributor of the Insolution line in Singapore! Sweet!

A little bit about the Leaders Insolution Line:

The masks from the InSolution line are developed by skin specialists so its for sure dermatologist tested, plus it’s backed up with huge amounts of research and development. Why InSolution? Basically, it means it solves inner skin troubles with an active ingredient that is proven to help target problems of dry, pigmented, irritated, tired, troubled skin according to the mask you choose to apply. Even better, the masks are paraben (preservative) free, have natural ingredients like Azalea extract and sooth the skin with chamomile extract. They are modifications of the Clinie line using new skin research and the line contains two types of masks – the skin renewal masks which prevent skin troubles and the Skin Clinic masks which help improve the overall health of your skin.

About www.cossy.com.sg

Since Cossy is wonderful enough to sponsor this giveaway and post, I thought you’d like to know more about them. Cossy is in fact the first Singapore website to feature health and beauty product deals and features 100% quality guarantee, 30 days free return (how rare in Singapore!) and fast and free shipping. If you’d like more information, give Cossy a visit at www.cossy.com.sg/about/us.php. Their Facebook page also has weekly giveaways so remember to join them at www.facebook.com/cossysg  ! These InSolution masks will only be available at www.cossy.com.sg and will be available at SGD$2.80 per mask which is 44% off the retail price of $4.99. Score, what a deal!

But enough talk, let’s get to the haul!

Cossy was nice enough to sponsor me all of the masks from the Insolution line (I know, right) and even a box of the Mela-Tox for a giveaway! Let’s explore the Insolution line range, shall we?

1. Vita Bright Skin Renewal Mask

The first mask is the Vita Bright Skin Renewal Mask which brightens overall skin tone and promotes clearer skin and the active ingredient is AA-2G which is associated with a Vitamin C complex that will help your skin look beautifully moist and will inject a healthy dose of vitality to dull skin complexions.

2. Collagen Lifting Skin Renewal Mask

The Collagen Lifting Skin Renewal Mask helps with skin elasticity for a younger looking face and helps spur the promotion of collagen within your skin. The marine collagen present in these masks help hydrate the skin and firms it up for that desirable springy baby face!

3. Teatree Relaxing Skin Renewal Mask

The TeaTree masks help relax the skin, reduce symptoms of troubled skin and takes care of pores. The organic tea tree and sprout complex helps calm the skin for that picture perfect complexion.

4. Aloe Soothing Skin Renewal Mask

The Aloe Soothing Skin Renewal Mask uses Aloe and Cactus extract to hydrate the skin and helps calm and balance irritated skin. These masks are also great for sensitive skin and are for those really dry days!

5. Wrinkle Filler Skin Clinic Mask

The Wrinkle Filler Skin Clinic Mask actually helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improves skin elasticity using Trylagen and Adenosine, which helps improves fine lines.

6. AC-Dressing Skin Clinic Mask

This one is a little special. It uses snail secretion. But you know, I’ve heard of sheep placenta and I heard that stuff is the bomb. My mom swears by it actually so hey, I could give snail secretion a chance. The AC-Dressing Skin Clinic Mask uses snail secretion filtrate to basically sooth skin irritation and redness while helping reduce minor scars of troubled spots. Sounds good to me.

7. Aquaringer Skin Clinic Mask

The Aquaringer Skin Clinic mask uses Alps glacier water and Amino Acid Complex to give long lasting hydration and diminishes dead skin cells! The Alps Glacier Water helps to inject hydration, the adenosine present reduces the appearance of fine lines and the NMF or Natural Moisturizing Factor takes away those nasty dead skin cells.

8. Mela-Tox Skin Clinic Mask

The Mela-Tox Skin Clinic masks are for all those lovely ladies who want to look like those beautiful Korean girls in the dramas. It helps improve the complexion of the skin making it more radiant, fairer and youthful. It brightens dull complexions, which would help me the most during exams and does this by suppressing melanin production which is what is to blame for pigmentation problems. It’s also moisturizing and helps eradicate facial blemishes.

I could use that. Why don’t we open this baby up to see what these it looks like inside:

Just like the Leaders Clinic Clinie masks, the textures of these facemasks are sort of collagen-like, like no other really! It feels like silk, most masks feel like paper but nada, one of the things I love about these masks is the feeling of this baby!

Let’s put it on for a few first impressions!

The fit is not bad at all!

After 15 – 20 minutes, time to take it off!

Dun dun dun…

I’m impressed! Look at my skin glow!

First Impressions:

The mask felt really nice and very soothing my skin. It has a very cooling and calming effect. It does however have a slightly sticky like feel a few minutes after you take it off but 10 minutes later, it absorbs into the skin nicely. I think the fit of the mask is great and I love how it’s not paper but sort of like a collagen cotton feel. Great first impression overall.  A few tips – leave this in the fridge because it feels oh-so-good when you put it on after a long day. Also, leave it on for 15 -20 minutes and it’s suggested that you use it for a month, 2 or 3 times a week!  Overall, I can’t say much about the overall skin benefits for now because this is the first time I’ve tried it but I do like the glow after and how nice it feels on the skin.

But, you’re probably wondering, let’s get the giveaway so here it is!

Hey Everyone,

Today, I’ll be talking about butter. Not really the kind you slathered on your pancakes this morning but rather the ones that The Body Shop makes which happen to be one of their signature products.

The Body Shop Body Butters have been around for ages, and scented with scrummy fruits like my personal favourites including Pink Grapefruit, Passionfruit and Papaya. I love those smells! Acting as an all over body moisturiser, these creamy products provide softening and moisturising benefits to the skin. When I came to The Body Shop office in Singapore to collect the prizes for the upcoming contest (I know, awesomeness!), the lovely Fiona dropped some magic into my bag. What’s the magic? Body Butter Duos. In fact, the Body Shop has recently upgraded these Body Butters and have stocked their shelves with new Body Butter duos! In this post, we’ll take a first look at these one-pot wonders.

The Body Shop Body Butter Duos are special mainly because they provide two levels of moisturisation because one side is for dry skin with a very creamy product while the other side is for normal skin with a more lotion-like product. That way, you have the best of both worlds. You can use the creamier product for your ankles, knees or even for the winter weather while the lotion can be used daily or whichever way you prefer. The body butters come in three variations (and I think one more) – Floral Acai, Macadamia and Sweet Pea and are retailing for SGD $32.90 at any Body Shop Singapore store.

What about Ingredients?

Besides having their respective extracts from each concotion, there are a few community fair trade ingredients known for their moisturising properties that all the body butter duos have in common,  that being:

1. Shea Butter (From Ghana) - known for it’s moisturising properties and The Body Shop sources this from Ghana in Africa from 476 women in 11 villages!

2. Beeswax (From Cameroon) - This is doesn’t come from no honey beehive, it’s sourced from the Adamaoua region in Cameroon

3. Cocoa Butter (From Ghana) - known for getting skin on the road to supple heaven. The Body Shop sources their cocoa butter from Kuapa Kokoo in Ghana, a co-op that works with 40,000 small scale farmers to enable projects like schools and village wells. Can they make me chocolate too? :)

4. Brazil Nut (From Peru) - happens to be a versatile oil and a really rich skin moisturiser and I thought they were only for munching on! These come from Peru that helps over 250 people that can’t get an income otherwise.

5. Babassu Nut Oil (From Brazil) - forms a protective and soothing coat when applied and has a velvety feeling on the skin. From a co-op n Brazil.

6. Soya Oil (From Brazil) - acts as a great base for hair and body products, organic, from farmers aiming to purify the land, what’s not to love?

Smell-o-Matic:

I’ve given these body butter duos a whiff and my nose definetley approves, even the Macadamia is a welcomed suprise. Floral Acai is a sweet and very light and almost playful fragrance that smells like a mix of a sweet berries that comes from the acai berries and tropical flowers. I can’t really put my nose on it but that pretty much sums it up. Macadamia is more of a vanilla musk which I think is more suitable for the nightime and well, Sweet Pea? I haven’t given mine a whiff because you’ll see why as you scroll down below ;) However, I am quite familiar with the Sweet Pea, it’s a wonderful fragrance and I used to spray it all over myself before I started using perfumes. It’s one of my all time favourite scents so its quite a pleasant suprise that The Body Shop was able to make a body butter duo variation of it.

My First Look Thoughts?

I think the duo power action is ingenious. I’m not a fan of moisturisation sometimes because I moisturise and everything is good and well for a day and the next day it looks pretty much the same. It’s probably because I’m using the wrong formula. With this, things become a little easier and I gave the floral acai one to my Mother because God only knows why I need so many. It comes in the classic Body Butter casing that is exactly the same but now it is seperated by a ying-yang looking barrier that seperates dry from normal, east and west. Alright, I’ll stop the puns. I get it, I get it.

On closer look, they look pretty similar but just simply placing your finger on the lotions gives very different results. The side for dry skin is indeed so thick that when I place my finger onto the product, I almost only leave a thumb print. Yes, and if you press a little harder, you can get some product. It’s not like hard-rock King Arthur can’t get the sword outta the stone – hard but it’s for sure not lotion like. It’s like a very stiff egg white, and even more realisticaly, a thick face primer although I don’t suggest you use this on your face. You get the point though – thick and super creamy.

The other side though is much like a lotion and reminds me of a full fat yoghurt. A lot like a full fat yoghurt. Note the full fat, these luxurious body butters are for sure not on a diet eventhough I’m seriously faling mine. But anyway, I can see myself using this side a lot more daily while the other side is more for dry ankles and dry spots I get sometimes. Both consistencies are creamy.

You can see the texture differences when they are both swatched on the skin. You know because we beauty bloggers can swatch anything. When blended into the skin, they blend well and don’t leave a sticky or slimy residue which is actually really nice. It has a slight cooling feeling and the product with a few easy massages are welcomed by the skin and are easily absorbed. The scent is quite strong as well so if you’re walking around freshly applied, you probably will be smell-a-ble.

Elbow picture! This picture was harder to take than you could ever imagine, sort of.

And lookee here! A Blog Giveaway! Yes!

Hey Everyone!

Very recently, Dermalogica Australia sent me an email regarding a new skincare line called Clean Start. I was familiar with the line already from allthatglitters21′s video of her updated skincare routine in which she featured these products that were also given to her.

When I saw the email, I was like Oh em gee, It’s Dermalogica! I very happily took on the challenge to review this entire skincare line. Here’s the haul post. If you’re unfamiliar with how things get done here, I make two posts. The haul posts tells you everything about the line and the products that were given to me. Wait about a month and out comes the review post like a bun in the oven. Let’s get started.

Dermalogica created a new skincare line created for teens by teens meaning that the development process, marketing and experimenting of the products were tried and tested through teenagers, making a very customised skin-care line. It’s fresh, innovative and savvy. The new line understands acne and acne problems in teens and attatcks the problem through its sleek, colorful, clear packaging and easy to use products. Most of the products smell very fresh and fruity which is also an attractive asset. It’s a new skincare line formulated for teens by teens, yelling loud and proud a skincare “created by us, for us” feel.

“Your skin deserves the good stuff, which is why we don’t put artificial fragrances, dyes or mineral oils in our products – nor do we test on animals. Get your healthiest skin ever at cleanstart.dermalogica.com”

So, what will I have to try out for the next month?

1. Clean Start – Wash Off

It’s basically a gel cleanser that you put in your hand with a little water and foam up before applying it to your skin. To prevent acne breakouts, wash off has Salicylic acid to clear trapped oils and wipe out breakout- causing bacteria, botanical extracts to regulate oil production and orange peel oil to energize and re-fresh. Smells like yummy fruity oranges.

First Impression: The gel foams up into a thick foamy paste which is smooth on the skin. It’s a little resistant in rinsing off but after, my skin for sure felt hydrated and toned down. Hard to describe, but pores looked smaller and my skin looked a little brighter. I know, from a first try, that’s a really good result right there but we will see how it holds up in the next month.

Suggested Retail Price: $39 for 180 mL

2. Clean Start – All Over Clear

A spiffy toner in a spray bottle, very smart. I’ve always thought of wanting to put my toner in a spray bottle, reckon it would be easier to apply. I never liked toner though, always thought the stuff broke me out. It’s a very refreshing mist that you spray over after you have cleansed the skin.  It has Sesame Seed extract which controls oil and shine, Licorice, Burdock and Argan extrats to hydrate and shield skin and Lemongrass which revives the skin while toning.

First Impression: What a refreshing mist! It took a while to sink in the skin but I quickened the process by lightly patting my skin. Not much but hydration.

Suggested Retail Price: $36 for 120 mL

3. Clean Start – Ready, Set, Scrub

It’s a dual fighting duo – a scrub and mask together. All you have to do is take the mask and spread it evenly over the face and it’s supposed to deliver smoother, clearer and fresher skin. It’s also has purifying flays like Bentonite and Kaolin that pulls excess oils away. After waiting five to seven minutes with the mask on, use warm water and in circular motions gently scrub away. The scrub particles are made of Silica which polishes the skin to a smooth and brighter finish. Rinse with water. Cooling menthol also eases redness. Smells like fruit loops. :)

First Impression: You only need a pretty sheer layer for things to get going. The particles are very fine but they do a nice job in the exfoliation department. Takes quite a while to rinse off because they were generous in the silica particles. A cool minty feeling accompanies the rise off and in between the 5-7 minutes when you are waiting for the mask to set.

Suggested Retail Price: $39.00 for 75 mL

4. Clean Start – Bedtime for Breakouts:

It’s a clear overnight acne treatment that is supposed to purify, exfoliate and clear to ensure that you wake up in the mornin’ with less congestion, fewer breakouts and reduced redness. Apply over breakout areas or potential breakout areas to say good riddance to zits overnight! Active ingredients include salicylic acid, cooling cucumber and licorice that helps subside redness and plant extracts to keep the oiliness at bay.

First Impression: The gel was kind of watery and it’s clear so I really don’t know if it will work. It stings a little which is a good sign, can’t say more than that right now.

Suggested Retail Price: $40.00 for 60 mL

5. Clean Start – Brighten Up SPF 15

This is like the BB Cream or tinted moisturiser of the range. It hydrates and brigthens with a SPF 15 formula that gives a natrual tint for fresh looking skin and an all day glow. Active ingredients include birch leaf which refines and purifies pores, willow bark to clear congestion and is a formula that not only contains sunscreen but is skin-smoothing, non-greasy and streak-free as well.

First Impression: Light coverage, smooth formula and easy to blend. We’ll see how it holds up though.

Suggested Retail Price: $45 for 60 mL

6. Clean Start – Welcome Matte SPF 15

It’s a day moisturiser with added benefits of SPF 15. It has oil-controllers to minimize shine while keeping the skin hydrated, salicylic acid that exfoliates and cleans out pores while the sunscreen helps to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

First Impression: Very light, and not that matte. But we’ll have to see. Don’t think the SPF is enough for the Australian or Singaporean sun!

Suggested Retail Price: $45 for 60 mL

Here’s a swatch comparing the two formulas:

7. Clean Start – Smart Mouth Lip Shine

Elle from allthatglitters21 said it smells like an “orange creamsicle” and boy oh boy it does. It’s a super smoothing, shine-inducing lip shield that moisturizes and conditions to deliver soft lips. Active ingredients include: vitamin E, cocoa seed butter and shea butter.

First Impression: The smell is quite heavy, orange + vanilla ice-cream that may not be appealing to everybody. It’s very smoothing though and I like it so far.

Suggested Retail Price: $30 for 10 mL

Cool Nozzle thingy:

And there we have it! *Crosses fingers* wish me luck!

xx Roseanne

Hello!

This is a bit overdue on my terms but the first week I was back, I had a nice lunch with Virginia who distributes Leaders Clinic products to Singapore at Cedele (one of my favourite places to eat – Chicken and Wild Mushroom Soup to die for and their Mushroom and Feta Tart). She thought I might be interested in trying a few of their products out to give my own opinion about their masks and things so here’s your informational haul :)

About Leaders Clinic:

Leaders Clinic Clinie is a very popular skincare company in Korea, formed by a group of well-known Korean dermatologists who created their own mark in the skincare company scene. In fact, they’re so popular that they average about 500,000 masks sold monthly and are undoubtedly the hottest clinical brand in Korea. Not only Korea either – it’s loved in Japan, China and Hong Kong and I managed to snap a picture yesterday when I was in Hong Kong at Mannings (Guardian):

There they are!

And their most well known product are their masks. A few of Virginia’s reviewers have even said they beat SKII, they’re great for people with sensitive skin and all skin types. Leaders Clinic besides offering masks, offers other skincare products like a new suncare lotion also in this haul and other collagen products.

They’re a bit pricy though I have to say - $4.95 per mask and sold at Guardian stores currently in Singapore, but Virginia says it’s all part of the parcel because these masks are different. Let’s see why.

1. The Ampoule Masks contain 1 Ampoule per Mask

That’s expensive. Don’t know what an ampoule is? It’s essence more concentrated than a serum and has to be kept in a glass container just like how perfume has to be kept in glass. Highly concentrated stuff.

2. The material is different – Silk Cellulose

It makes sure that the mask isn’t eating up the essence and your face is absorbing most of it. More bang for your buck and it allows your skin to breathe like a ‘second skin’ to help it absorb whatever is inside the pack faster and more efficiently. Sounds good to me.

I received six types of masks, multiples of each but for the purpose of the haul, I will only be showing you one of each:

1. IPL Whitelux Ampoule Mask

Whitening will always be in the asian market and Leaders Clinic won’t miss out on this. It’s infused with whitening ingredients, Vitamin C-AAG, Arbutin and Mulberry Bark extract that kicks out uneven skin tone for brighter and radiant skin. It’s not about being shades lighter, it’s about achieving brighter, more radiant skin when it comes to whitening. With Whitening Ampoule.

2. N.M.F Aquaringer Ampoule Mask:

Sounds scary, but it delivers nutrients and hydration to balance oil, purify the skin and tighten the pores. The NMF stands for natural moisturising factor which exists in the human body to prevent moisture loss. Yes, I’m copying from something right now. Ampoule included!

3. Vita Whitebeam Essential Mask

If you’re not up for ampoules, essential masks have the concentrated essence within the mask. This one makes your skin clear and bright with Vitamin C and Tocopherol. It actively reduces melanin production which is the stuff that makes you more tan when the UV rays hit you. Ow.

4. Tea Tree Healing Solution Essential Mask

We all know that Tea Tree does the job (not really for me actually..) to decrease redness, acne and blemishes. That’s what this mask is all about. We do the hokey pokey and we turn ourselves around. Thats what its all about. Sorry, I just had to say that. Remember that song? Anyway. It has Tea-tree oil, pine needles, and other natural extracts to soothe sensitive and problem prone skin. The aroma is supposed to help calm you too. Multi-tasker!

5. Platinum V-Lift Essential Mask

Man, we can really do a lot to our faces can’t we? :P Say goodbye to saggy skin. I have tried this one, it’s a tingling sensation, quite nice. I felt the tightening effect but I think I need to use it more to get a proper feel about it. What’s doing the work – Nano- Platinum (o.0), Trehalose and Pomegranate. Yea, I only got Pomegranate. It firms and lifts and the Nano-Platinum includes fine grains of platinum by nano-technology which improves the firming and lifting part. cool.

6. Collagen Infusion Essential Mask

C’mon, what’s Korea without Collagen! Collagen is important because it’s essential for the skin’s elasticity, firmness and suppleness. We lose collagen as we age so why not put it in a mask.

In fact, let’s take a closer look. Marine Collagen..

Very syrupy in texture…

Feels very nice. Honestly though, the holes in the mask are way too big and I’d like for the mask to be resting also on the undereye, but that means no mask for my temples. You get the idea. Maybe my eyes are just a little too small? You can see my skin through it.

Roseanne, How in the world are you going to review all this?

Lots of time. Basically, a before and after basis so you’ll see me without makeup, or anything before the mask and then a picture with the mask on, and then a picture after the mask. I initially thought Virginia didn’t give me enough masks for me to notice results but she said you should see results already after the first 1 or 2 tries. How to use it? Put it on and leave for 15 – 20 mins (different to other masks that are on till they dry…but these are sheet masks so its different).

Not yet sold in the market, but a potential product is the Collagen Peelaser. Not a Pee-laser please, but a Peel-aser. It’s a cleansing cream, very thick. Basically whip some on, massage the makeup off and rinse. Always remember a two step process though! Off comes your makeup, and then you use an additional cleanser to actually clean your skin after.

Another potential product is the Kids Care Sun Lotion by Leaders Clinic. For sensitive skin and it’s awesome that it’s SPF 32, most stop at SPF 30! I have felt this and swatched it and it comes off a little thick honestly, and not the most blendable at all, but I’ll give it a second chance..

Virginia was also nice enough to give me this, a salon mascara from Taiwan. It’s from Jenova and it’s a Transplanting Gel and Natural Fiber system!

You should first apply the Transplanting Gel which looks like a normal mascara and then you apply the Natural Fiber which looks..just a little wrong and mossy. It doesn’t stop there though. You apply your own mascara on top of those layers. It’s supposed to give you really voluminous lengthy lashes and I can’t wait to try it!

Thanks so much Virginia for everything. Look forward to a review in quite a while’s time!

Hello Everyone,

I know, I know, I have been absent for far too long. But before you whip out the ruler, I have been concentrating on school, uni, commerce, and subjects. You know the boring stuff of my life (sort of). So it’s justified! I have just gotten fast internet, changed my provider and I don’t particularly feel like doing work right now because I am in a celebratory mood. Yes, faster internet makes my upload time dwindle from 11 hours to 1 hour. What’s not to love?

If you’ve been following my twitter (which you should at: www.twitter.com/roseannetangrs), you’d know that I’m currently using the Erno Laszlo products that were sent to me a few weeks ago but I never put up the haul video because I wanted to wait for my faster internet.

What’s Erno Laszlo?

It’s the stuff Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy used and other A-list celebrities in the 1930s. In fact, this was the stuff that was found in Marilyn Monroe’s bathroom when she passed away. This is they guy who invented sunscreens, ph balances, customized skincare rituals, skincare for teens and skincare for men. Yea, I didn’t believe it at first. It’s one of those things you take for granted like the guy who invented mascara, someone had to do it in the first place right? Awesome.

A bit of lowdown on the company:

1. It’s a high end company. Products sold on Saks Fifth Avenue and based in New York. Prices range from high thirties to two hundreds in US Dollars

2. It has Hungarian roots..speaking of Hungary..I’m actually really hungry right now. Omnomn.

3. It is most famous for its splashing-hot-water-on-your-face-technique which I will explain later. Using water to heal the skin is it’s primary basis.

What did I get?

Sample sizes of:

1. The Active Phelityl Oil ($39 US):

http://www.ernolaszlo.com/shop-by-category-cleansers/c2_12/p6/active-phelityl-oil/product_info.html

This is a pre-cleansing oil. i think the concept is very similar to Shu Uemura Cleansing OIl. It’s supposed to:

I’m a bit wary of this because my skin absolutely goes ballistic when I put any sort of cream or oil product on it. :) You rub this all over the face before you use your cleanser, and don’t take it off before you go on to the next step.

2. Sea Mud Soap (US$39)

http://www.ernolaszlo.com/shop-by-category-cleansers/c2_12/p5/sea-mud-soap/product_info.html

The process for using this is rather lengthy. I have to first:

1. Fill my basin with hot water (Use a sink stopper to stop water form exiting)

2. Wet the bar in the water and rub all over my face

3. Later it up on my face with the water

4. Splash 20 times, the water in the basin and the soap and the oil will form a ‘treatment water’

5. Release water and splash hot water onto face with running water

A bit long, don’t you think?

4. Light Controlling Lotion ($US 39)

Oh no, another toner. Hope it doesn’t break me out!

Wish me luck!
