Hey Everyone!

hi

I think one of the challenges with starting any make-up artist career is building a kit. Not only do you need to get your shade, you need to be able to provide for everyone else’s. While you were opening your awesome Christmas presents, I was opening this. My boyfriend gave me a make-up artist’s dream – the Bobbi Brown BBU Face Palette! Best boyfriend in the world award? Pretty much.

The Bobbi Brown BBU Face palette is not available in retail stores, and is only available online. It is inspired by Bobbi’s own make-up palette that she uses when she works and features her correctors, concealers and foundation sticks. It has a great amount of shades and is perfect for a make-up artist because it is portable and provides for people with light or dark skin an anyone in between.  I’ve used her foundation sticks at school and bought one for myself at the airport (go duty free) and love it! But enough talk, let’s open this baby!

All nicely wrapped, of course I had my paws already on Christmas so the wrapping is all torn up. Oopsies.

sdfsdf

So the Bobbi Brown BBU Face Palette features 11 shades of corrector and 14 shades of creamy concealer. Correctors are used to neutralise under eye circles which explains why they are peachy or yellow based to counteract ashy and blue shades. You apply the correctors first before your concealer under the eyes. Of course there are many other correctors out there like – green to fight off redness and lilac to fight off sallowness. It’s all about the color wheel really. Typically the peachier the corrector is, the more it is suited for correcting darker skin.

corrector

The palette also includes 20 colours of foundation sticks. I love the Bobbi Brown foundation stick and I will do a review soon! I love how it really blends into the skin. When you see the swatches, you’ll see how it blends right in. What I also like about Bobbi Brown is that they really do provide for the more warmer skin tones, including a good amount of yellow. Even their bb cream suits me because it is yellow toned as I myself am quite warm. However, people who have a cooler undertone often complain.

Time for swatches! It’s quite hard to swatch foundation right, especially when it matches so well to the skin. It’s quite cool too. If I ever need to get a foundation or concealer from Bobbi Brown again, I’ll know my shade exactly since I…I guess have all the shades now!

Swatches for the foundation stick. They are extremely creamy when you warm it with your fingers but when you take it from the tube, they are stiff enough to apply. It’s a great product because it knows what you want. When you apply it, you don’t want it to smear everywhere if it’s too creamy but when you need to blend it, it becomes very flexible.

foundationsticks

This palette is my new baby, I’m in love with it and can’t wait to use it and it’s smaller than I expected it to be making it great to bring along!

I’m also back in Singapore already (now this time forever) and it’s time to get cracking. I’m hoping to launch the store at the end of this month so I need to work really hard, I hope I have everyone’s support! It’s going to be fun! That being said, I will have giveaways all throughout January for the store so stay tuned for the blog post about it! I hope you have a fabulous new year :)

Hey Everyone!

I am so excited to share with you my make-up and fashion goodies that I’ve been “collecting” and getting here in the UK! I’m really into affordable drugstore or “high street” as they call it here brands because I know that these are the products that I can’t get anywhere else but in the UK or London!  And, with the store coming along, it also makes for a healthier wallet and a few more savings! :) That being said, the best place to go here in London is Superdrug which is a health/beauty store just like Watsons in Singapore and Priceline in Australia.

We’ve all heard of Sleek and BarryM I’m sure if you’re a beauty blog reader and it was so cool seeing the actual counter at the store! There’s the Sleek Counter and there’s also BarryM as well. Usually we only see these brands on blogs and online shops. But enough talk, here’s what I got!

1. Sleek Face Form Contouring Palette – love at first sight! This has a beautiful blush, matte bronzer and highlighter that’s just the perfect shimmer in an all in one palette. Plus, they have ample quantities of each. Imagine never having to lug around three products anymore. Just grab this and go! Totally review worthy!

2. MUA Nail Constellation (Nail Caviar Pearls) – Who doesn’t want to make their nails like cupcakes with sprinkles on top! Check out my blog post on putting them on. They’re great, easy to use and cheap as well.

3. MUA Professional Brow Kit – I’ve been reading loads of UK beauty blogs lately and everyone seems to be reviewing the professional brow kit from MUA (otherwise known as Make-Up Academy). I like how it has highlighter, wax, the brow definer and even a pair of tweezers. To be honest, the highlighters come off as a bit light though so you might want to be careful there!

4. Vaseline Pink Bubbly Lip Balm - My friend Ting recommended me this lip balm and I am in love with the smell. It’s a limited edition flavour and smells like grapefruit and a bit of champagne. Very classy and of course pretty moisturising too. It also adds a nice sheen to the lips when applied.

5. Simple Intensive Moisturiser - If there’s winter, my body tends to dry up fast and even show a bit of cracking. I know that’s horrible so I need an intensive moisturiser. With no fragrance or extra irritants, I’ll see how this goes. However, it is quite hard to blend in so far!

6. MUA Heaven & Earth Palette - The moment I saw this, I thought it would be a great dupe for the Naked 2 Palette. I love how it is lightweight and actually has great colours and pigmentation. I wouldn’t say it’s an exact dupe as it’s missing a few colours but it’s for sure good effort and beats the price hands down.

7. BarryM Black Nail Paint – The only reason why I got this was because I needed a black nail polish for the MUA nail constellation *cheesy smile*. It’s an average nail polish but I’m for sure on the lookout to try more BarryM. Any suggestions?

I’ve also been caught shopping at Primark lately as well. Primark is a super affordable shop to get all your clothes especially basics, is actually pretty fashionable and trendy, and also has a Men’s and Home floor as well! It’s a great place to take a break from all the swanky boutiques to get your winter cardigans or even cute tops at great prices.

I am in love with sheer, chiffon tops. Of course I won’t be wearing these during the winter in London, but these are essentials for the Singapore weather when I’m back. I love the pearl beaded collar on this!

And then I got a straight cut floral top as well! It has a cut in the back and I really like it!

Of course no haul is complete without some bottoms. I chose lace shorts. These were an affordable 12 or so pounds which I thought was really value for money.

I’m probably known in my family to very easily break shoes. So I also picked up two pairs of those flats. They’re basic, cute and classic and I also scored a pair of ankle heeled boots. I love these and they add a bit of “spice” into any winter look.

Last but not least, I’m actually wearing some of the jewlery from my upcoming online store. Would love your support for it at the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/roseanne.sg  And once we get to 1,000 likes, there will be a mega giveaway across all my channels!

I really hoped you like this haul. I’ve had an incredible month in London so far. I even got recognised at the tube station by one of you which was a bit of a shock, but for sure a pleasant one. Shoutout to Grace! I start make-up school tomorrow!! I won’t be able to paint my nails except on the weekend. I don’t know what to expect but I hope it’ll be good and I can’t wait to share some make-up tips and tricks with you!

Hey Everyone!

I bet only a handful of us would go out wearing neon eye-shadow colors to go shopping. I raise my hand. Maybe it’s the fact that we think we look better in just neutrals but I think it’s probably more-so of what people would think of us. Illamasqua’s Human Fundamentalism collection beckons you to become “who you are and not who you’re told to be”. The collection’s bold and bright colors of commonly unworn shades urges you to turn heads by expressing who you really are. Albeit this blog post is ridiculously long overdue. I was back in Melbourne when this baby was sent to my Singapore address. I thought it was only necessary to blog about this anyway, I mean look at this kit!

Illamasqua is a well known UK brand for bringing theater and media make-up to everyday people like you and me. Think professional, bright shades encouraging non-conformity. The Human Fundamentalism Collection does just that and is described as “an explosion of your alter-ego…to rise above mainstream limitations and exist in a world where individuality is received with celebration not derision.”

Illasmasqua sent me more than a few products to try out so let’s get started!

 Illamasqua Human Fundamentalism Powder Eye-Shadows

The eyeshadows from the Human Fundamentalism collection has a range of brightly hued powder eye-shadows that are definitely screaming different. This is in quite a controversial name, sex, and is a standard matte white eye-shadow. This baby is great for making a base shade to your eye-shadow colors so that they appear even brighter and poster color looking. The shadows are really pigmented, smooth and blendable as described.

The next is an acid yellow green color in Pivot. It reminds me of that Shrek green color and personally, I don’t find attractive. But you never know when you’re going to use a shade like this. Probably for an upcoming Halloween look?

Illamasqua’s Burst eyeshadow is described as a  blue-green, but more of a deep blue – teal. The texture is smooth, soft and again ridiculously pigmented. These are definitely professional tools to any make-up look. All of the shadows from the Illamasqua collection are matte which is cool because it’s like pure, untainted color & pigment.

Packed in the kit was also this baby, the Illamasqua nail polish in Nomad. Nomad is what I would call a darker mint green or an even better description would be a bright jade color. It’s a color I definitely haven’t seen before nor have I swatched on my nails but it makes a good Spring and even summer color. This nail polish is best worn with long nails and rounded tips in my opinion.

It’s a high gloss and highly pigmented nail polish. To me, it’s best worn with long nails and rounded tips in my opinion. Here’s a swatch on my nails!

Something cool which was also included was Illamasqua’s sealing gel. I have yet to try it out but how cool is this? It’s supposed to  turn any powder product into a paste (which is water-resistant) which you can use to paint onto your fase with intricate lines and patters of your favourite eye-shadow. I have yet to figure out how to mix them two together. I probably wouldn’t recommend you dropping this into the pan itself for that would “ruin” the rest of your eye-shadow. Perhaps maybe having an additional palette, putting a drop of the sealing gel on it and then picking up lots of pigment with a clean brush and dabbing it into the gel before application.

FREAK perfume is Illamasqua’s signature fragrance of the moment. FREAK takes the persona of exquisitely rare and mysterious midnight blooming flowers that are forbidden and brought together in a magical, timeless method. It’s really bottled “midnight”. Top notes of this fragrance are Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna. Heart Notes are Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night while Base notes are musty with Frakincense, OUd and Myrrh. I like it. It smells more clean than mysterious but is definetly a night fragrance.

So there you have it! Some thoughts of the Human Fundamentalism collection from Illamasqua! Even though it’s totally overdue, I appreciate the bold colors of this collection but perhaps unsure of whether I’ll wear these out and about anytime soon.

An interesting campaign that Illamasqua is doing is the Fair Price for Beauty campaign. I know I’m back in Singapore but if you’re tired of paying up to 60% more money for beauty products compared to the UK, then you may want to check this petition: http://www.illamasqua.com/fairpriceforbeauty/

Hey Everyone!

I’m down to my final week in Australia and although most of my make-up is packed up and bubble-wrapped and I probably swore to myself not to buy anymore, I came across these two babies and I couldn’t resist. But trust me, I do have a decent explanation for purchasing and that is well, I’ve never tried anything like them before and they are both spankin’ new products . Plus, I’m leaving so I should be putting my paws on everything I can’t get back in Singapore! Here’s a little haul of the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Make-Up foundation and the Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam! I am throughly excited to review both but here are my first impressions of each of them if you’re already on the edge of your seats.

Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foaming Foundation:

The Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam is a foaming foundation. The first time I spotted a foaming foundation was back in Singapore, I think it’s called the Maybelline BB Mousse but I didn’t get it (yet). I was also a bit concerned with the skin care effects of these products. I mean, make-up in a can? I didn’t know if it would harm my skin because of the extra “chemicals” required to make it into a foam, but hey I guess the newest generation of foundations deserve a try right? This one in particular is supposed to be a very lightweight foundation that is able to give a flawless finish by releasing fine pigments, is SPF 16, ideal for normal skin and apparently won’t clog pores. Sounds good to me so far.

I think when I bought this, I really didn’t know what was comin’. The first time I pressed the nozzle, I was really surprised as the foam immediately grew before my eyes. I did also notice that it does oxidize on your hand as you can see the color differences in the next two pictures. It’s a very light feeling, airy kind of thing, unlike anything I have tried before.

When I first applied it on my skin, it was pretty ridiculous. I really didn’t know what I was doing. I am after all applying foam on my face. However, despite the application, the foundation almost disappeared into my skin almost covering a light and natural layer so that I don’t feel like I’m wearing anything at all but it still is able to give me medium to full coverage which was utterly amazing. I really liked it despite my sneaking suspicion that I might probably break out from it, but I guess we will have to see. It doesn’t oxidize that much on my face but it does oxidize a lot on my hand.

Relvon Colorstay Whipped Creme Make-Up Foundation

The Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme make-up will officially be my first creme foundation. It comes in a pot and is a very luxurious feeling foundation, almost like a night cream yet it does have a mousse like silky texture which I really like. As you would know, I’m impressed by the original liquid Revlon Colorstay foundation for it’s perfect coverage, ability to control oil and it’s long-wearing abilities even though it does feel a bit heavy. I expect this one to be much more hydrating and in that sense more natural feeling but still have that long wear and perfect coverage.

Revlon claims this baby to have a silky mousse like texture, will make you flawless and give you all day flexible wear and result in a soft matte finish. It is supposed to be a full coverage foundation that will withstand heat and humidity. I like the last point as I’m going back to humid and tropical weather back in Singapore and for me, glowy and hydrating foundations are the best for that climate because you don’t end up looking like a cakey mess.

When I first applied the foundation, I was really surprised by how mousse like it feels, much more than an actual cream even though it looks so much more like a cream. It is very silky when applying it and it does give medium to full flawless coverage. I did not however see my foundation lasting longer than the original revlon colorstay foundation and it did give me a soft semi-matte finish. I’m excited to try this out more as I am in love with the texture!

So there we have it! My two new foundations that I will be reviewing in the next few weeks! Stay tuned! By the way as you can tell, I changed my layout after hours of coding (and I mean hours – I stayed up till 4am, and woke up at 8am to continue coding the rest of the day) and I hope you like it. You better like it. JOKES. Lol. I wanted it to be cleaner and simpler. The other I reckon was too in your face, so I wanted this to be a place of peace and serenity (if at all). I should sleep.

Have you tried these foundations yet, what do you think?

Hey Everyone!

To be honest, I never really wore lipstick until I went to uni. To me lipsticks were such a hassle. I couldn’t eat without eating some and they faded far too much. But little did I realize that it wasn’t particularly lipsticks as make-up items I didn’t like, it was just that I was wearing the wrong one. I continued my lipstick journey with M.A.C, Chanel, YSL, and drugstore brands like Revlon and Maybelline only to find that I might have a slight addiction to them. They make a massive difference to any look, it’s the final polish. Even to that, I haven’t tried a Bobbi Brown lipstick before either. Silly, I know.

MizSpa contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I’d like to try out a set of Bobbi Brown lipsticks from their online store and suggested a giveaway for them as well. Seeing that I’ve never tried them and you get to try them too, I was more than ecstatic!

For all of those online shop-a-holics whipping out their credit cards at 2am in the morning like yours truly, MizSpa.com is a great online discount make-up and skincare store that sells 100% genuine luxury brands. There are hundreds of types of beauty products including cosmetics, skincare and perfumes. Check them out for great offers and bargains!

But let’s get to the haul shall we? Shipping was safe and secure and arrived in less than the expected time. Plus the packaging is uber cute!

Let’s see what’s in the box!

I love how they’re packaged with wrapping paper and bows! I feel like it’s my birthday..or Christmas morning. I opened it up to reveal the Bobbi Brown Lip Trio that comes with three Bobbi Brown Lipsticks in Nude, Sandwash Pink and Soft Rose. These babies are usually only available in airports or duty free areas. They’re a set of three of universally flattering shades from Bobbi Brown and represent the classics of their lipstick collection.

At the point of opening this up, I was absolutely thrilled. Not only did I get to try just one, I get to try three! Bobbi Brown lipsticks are known to be creamy, semi matte, rich and full coverage. I haven’t heard too much online about them.

They’ve mainly been overshadowed by the hype of Chanel and YSL lippies. We’ll see how they fare on a first impressions basis, since this is a haul.

Here is me without any lipstick on. I already do have a pink-ish muave natural lip color but let’s see if these lipsticks can spice things up.

 1. Bobbi Brown Lip Color Lipstick in Soft Rose

Soft Rose is a beautiful pink rose color with a bit of a peach undertone. It is absolutely perfect for daily wear and makes a great pink and peach swatch on the lips. Bobbi Brown lipsticks are surprisingly (well, they are Bobbi Brown, so never mind) pigmented and smooth. They are so rich but not overpoweringly creamy. I would say these are some of the best lipsticks that I have tried so far. It’s a complex feeling wearing them. The texture is so rich and pigmented but they don’t feel heavy what so ever. It’s like gliding butter on your lips but the fact that they are semi-matte adds the perfect shine. It’s a bit confusing but they are spectacular. Back to the color, soft rose would be my favorite of the bunch.

 2. Bobbi Brown Sandwash Pink Lip Color Lipstick

Sandwash Pink is a muave and more paler lipstick. It also feels and looks slightly more matte, and would be most similar to M.A.C’s matte lippies in Please Me or Pink Plaid. Nonetheless, I’ve been really into muave looking lipsticks lately. I believe this is the color that Barbie wears and really, who doesn’t want to look like her. Again, the texture remains utterly amazing.

 3. Bobbi Brown Nude Lip Color Lipstick

The last is the most more of a neutral brick color although on the website it is described to be a medium brownish pink. If my mom were to pick one out of the bunch, she would pick this one. I remember her only wearing a slight peach brick red and it reminds me so much of her. I wish I could give this to her, but I kind of used it so I’m not sure how much she’d like that. Besides that, it’s a very pretty color. It’s leaning onto a coral which matches spring weather perfectly but at the same time it looks like autumn leaves too. Color gets a little complicated but seriously, the texture is something you need to try.

And there you have it! Bobbi Brown lipsticks are awesome. These are first impressions so I can’t say much about the lasting power of these babies but if anything, the texture is something I would whip out money for.

On Mizspa, this set only costs $26 – click here for the link! . It’s hard to say no to that.Wait, that is really cheap. I’m getting one for my Mom. Lol, this is a bit awkward.

But seriously, what is a blog post without a giveaway!

P.S: I’m seriously getting it for my Mom.

Hey Everyone!

Last month’s Vanity Trove was February –  the month of love, pampering, sweet hearts and flowers. I can’t believe it’s already the second month of 2012, time flies super fast, like super bass. Speaking of super bass, VanityTrove has just sent out their February VanityTrove and as VanityTrove ambassador, I’m here to give you a peak into what’s inside this month’s sweet trove! You’ll be surprised to find that there’s a little bit of Nicki Minaj in it this month! So let’s get started and open this baby up!

First of all, this month’s trove smells absolutely heavenly. The potpourri wafting in the air when you first open the box smells like that old perfume you rediscovered in your mom’s closet and wonder why she never wears it. Its a great start to the surprise!

For all the girls who didn’t get bouquets this month, it’s also nice to find a beautiful pink flower along with a letter of what’s in store!

But enough of what’s on the surface, let’s dig a little deeper!

1. O.P.I Nicki Minaj Nail Polish – Did It On Em’ & Pink Friday

Look how cute these bottles are! They are absolutely adorable and a good thing too because I’ve never finished a bottle of nail polish in my life! The perky colors are uber cute for fun parties, just like Nicki Minaj.

In my trove, I received the Pink Friday and Did It On Em’. Did It On Em’ is a cream green, sort of reminds me of Shrek actually. It’s a super bright green with a yellow undertone, not for safe drivers.

The one I’m really loving is Pink Friday. It’s a bubblegum pastel pink with a neutral undertone that just reminds me of Nicki in a candy coated costume singing. It has a creme finish. Despite being pastel, it still manages to be a loud and bold color. Think of what you could do with something like this though! Take a tooth pick and dot white polka dots or make cute pink strawberries out of them. The possibilities are endless. I love O.P.I nail polishes. They have the best formula. I should probably do a China Glaze vs. Essie vs. O.P.I Nail polish comparison post!

2. Skin Inc Pure Repair+ Whitening Eye Masks

I have been pretty much bombarded with face masks but I’ve always found that the eye pockets are always too big. When I saw this in the trove, I first thought it was a sleeping mask. Little did I know, it’s a whitening eye mask! The Skin Inc Pure Repair+ Whitening eye mask is a multi action hydrogel Collagen Brightening Mask that brightens, replenishes and repairs your skin in 20 minutes. Place this mask in the fridge and I can only imagine how relaxing it is after a long day. It contains plant collagen extracts, ginseng, Vitamin E & C, placenta, lavender, rose, cucumber and chamomile! I can’t wait to try this :)

The mask itself looks like it’s made from a great material. You won’t have to rinse your skin after use either. Just pat lightly after having it on for 20 to 30 minutes!

4. Vouchers & Deals

In addition to all the goodies inside, you also get a bunch of vouchers! The coolest one ought to be the $50 SKIN INC voucher – if you’ve been signed up since December, you would have received another $50 bucks from SKIN INC, good enough to buy you something nifty worth a hundred bucks. I’m going to check out the serums on saturday. They’re all about customizing your own skin routine!

5. You Filthy Thing Filthy Farmgirl: Filthy Valentines

What a name right? Filthy Farmgirl soaps are hand cut and hand made soaps that are 100% natural and vegan friendly without detergents, sulfates or artificial scents. If going natural is your thing, you’ll probably want to check this out! The one I got was Cardamom Rose Filth Valentine. This one contains Bulgarian Rose oil that stimulates collagen production and slows down the age process to keep skin soft! The soap also has cardamom extract that helps detoxify the body! It has a very musky scent!

6. Allerines Premium Tea: Dancing Flowers Green Tea

There’s nothing like a warm cup of tea after a long day. Thanks to VanityTrove this month, I get to unwind to a great green tea with sencha and phoenix eyes, flavoring pink and yellow rosebuds, lime blossoms, daises, peach blossoms and com flowers. I love floral teas. They manage to taste a little sweet without the slightest bit of sugar.

7. Mekalaliving Black Rice Regenerative Shampoo & Conditioner

Black rice, unlike white rice, keeps the bran cover which makes it ultra nourishing for the hair. Each grain that’s gone into these products are packed with vitamins, amino acids, minerals and high amounts of fiber! These ingredients help to strengthen hair follicles and keep your hair thick, shiny, smooth and healthy! MekalaLiving is a well-known spa brand known for 100% natural top quality spa products used in 5 star hotels like Mandarin Oriental and The Chedi.

These babies are free of artificial flavors, colors, chemicals and fragrances and preservatives that can harm your body’s balance. I can’t wait to try them out!

8. RinsieRose Bracelet

RinsieRose provides cute accessories that are supposed to make you happy when you wear them. I like the ribbon, it’s different from your usual metal. Plus, if you’re not too happy with what you got in the trove, you can email RinsieRose to exchange your piece with something else that you really like from the label or be allowed to claim a piece of your fancy from RinsieRose!

So there you have it! February’s VanityTrove brought to you by yours truly!

Hope you enjoyed!

Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I have some exciting news to announce! I’m ambassador! No, not ambassador of Singapore, silly (I wish).  This post marks my first online ambassadorship with VanityTrove.com! I’m so excited. As their ambassador, I will be responsible for unveiling each month’s trove to you here on roseannetangrs.com. Plus, I’ll be holding random giveaways every now and then and I invite you in advance to attend all of them.

If you haven’t read my previous post on VanityTrove, VanityTrove hand-picks a set of themed beauty products and delivers them to your doorstep every month. It’s a fantastic concept and I totally love the picks that VanityTrove gives out including high end brands like Lancome to Clinique and niche brands like Yadah. It’s absolutely perfect for people looking to try new products every month or to expand your beauty knowledge about what’s swimming out there. And, hey who doesn’t like surprises delivered to your doorstep, either that or you, my friend, have a crush on the mailman. I wouldn’t blame ya. So let’s see what’s in January’s Trove shall we?

First of all, I have to say that the VanityTrove comes packaged really nicely, like one of those boxes you take out from Louis Vuitton. Except, it’s white and pink, not brown, and well not Louis Vuitton. Besides the fact, it’s a hard board box, pink and your stuff is neatly encased in pink tissue paper. What’s not to love?

 The box slides right open!

Every box comes with a personal letter from Victoria Tan, spokesperson of VanityTrove, welcoming the month ahead. It’s really personal. This trove is about rejuvenation, after the hustle and bustle of the festive season. It’s time to go natural and organic this month so it’s totally appropriate that they’re including brands like YADAH, which happens to be a new Korean brand.

But, seriously, enough talk, and let’s get hauling!

1. Leader’s Clinic Face Mask – Aquaxyl Filler 2-Step Face Mask, RRP: 10 sheets for $75 Full Size

I’ve talked about Leader’s Clinic quite a bit! They’re a dermatologist tested Korean skincare brand that boasts top korean celebrity clients. It’s no wonder that VanityTrove was nice enough to include this little beauty in the box. This face mask is part of a best-selling range in Korea and is known for it’s ultra thin silk cellulose material that glides on like a second skin. They’re also made of certified plant extracts, have no artificial preservatives and are Paraben-Free! This Aquaxyl Filler mask in particular is a 2-step face mask with an ampoule that maximizes the potential of the mask when applied first. It aims to brighten, tighten pores and moisturize your skin.

Quick Beauty Tip: Put your face mask in the fridge for a really relaxing session!

2. YADAH Beauty Pack, RRP: 1 pack for $10.90 Full Size

YADAH Skincare from Korea is newly launched in Singapore and has launched it with VanityTrove! This range boasts organic ingredients based on natural plant extracts like plant oil, floral water, essential oil, barks and even traditional herbs. The main ingredient in most YADAH skincare products is the Opuntia ficus extract or cactus extract which has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is great for sensitive or troubled skin!

In the beauty pack, you get a YADAH brightening face mask with active ingredients like mulberry, green tea and orange extracts that help moisturize and brighten your skin. You’ll also receive sample sizes of the Pure Green Toner, Pure Green Emulsion, Sun creams, brightening ampoule, and even a cleansing nose pack. I can’t wait to learn more about this brand and I have to say this is a pretty good way to get a taste of basically everything!

Quick Beauty Tip: Confused at the number of products to apply in your morning or night routine? Simply think – cleanse, tone, apply serums or ampoules and then apply your moisturiser – it’s that simple!

3. Olivella Shampoo and Conditioner, RRP: Shampoo (500mL for $17.90), Conditioner (500mL for $26.90) Full Size

Time to revolutionize your showers! The Olivella Shampoo and Conditioner is formulated with 100% Natural Virgin Olive Oil which makes these two babies extra moisturizing. It de-tangles while hydrates effectively and is suitable for normal, dry, and chemically treated hair! Cool beans. I’ve never tried Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner before!

Quick Beauty Tip: Olive oil isn’t only a great hydrator, it’s also a great natural make-up remover. Substitute it with your ordinary make-up remover and it takes away even the toughest of make-up while giving you more than plenty skincare benefits!

4. Angel Lip Tint & Cheek Stain (Juicy Red), RRP: 3mL – $10.90 Full Size

This is probably the coolest product in the box. We all know Benefit’s Benetint and we are probably real familiar with their Posietint and now the new ChaChaTint. To be honest, I’m scared of tints. I tried it once in the girl’s bathroom to touch-up at uni and ended up looking like Krusty the Clown’s late grandma. But, that was before I learned how to use it properly.

The Angel Lip Tint & Cheek Stain is a special tint because the colorants are paraben-free and are extracted from plants – mainly red tomatoes and gromwell flowers! I find that pretty amazing. Safe to say, it has natural and safe ingredients that help to enhance your natural lip and cheek color, giving you a beautifully rosy glow. Here it is on yours truly. I dabbed a bit on my fingers (it’s very watery) and applied it on my lips and cheeks. Pretty right?

5. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, RRP: 50mL for $75 Full Size

This is one of Clinique’s best selling products, and is termed the “ultimate drink for your skin.” It’s a light and comfortable gel that plumps your skin for a full 24 hours and is ideal for all skin types. The formula is known for giving and instant radiance and supple boost the skin and makes a great travelling companion after a long haul flight. We all know how gross we get after those trips! I haven’t tried this product from Clinique before either so I’m defo looking forward to it!

Quick Beauty Tip – Know your skin type first before diving into buying a moisturiser. You always need to wear a moisturiser if you have dry skin but those with oily skin may produce enough to skip this step in their routine.

And there we have it, this month’s January Vanity Trove!

Hey Everyone!

If Urban Decay had a football game, I would be one of those fans wrapped up in Urban Decay scarves and hoodies cheering through a purple megaphone on the sidelines. You can pretty much tell from most of my tutorials that I love Urban Decay. Their eye-shadows are amazing – soft, ridiculously pigmented and who doesn’t love their very many palettes.

So when Urban Decay contacted me from California about a special campaign to launch their Urban Decay Naked2 Palette (the 2nd edition of the very popular almost cult product – the Urban Decay Naked Palette), I was more than overjoyed! It’s been a month since I received it in the mail so let’s see what’s in the box, shall we? I couldn’t tell anyone until Dec. 2nd, but today is December 2nd so yay!

Thank you for the special note, Kat! I love the purple confetti – totally Urban Decay.

I love opening boxes of surprises and there it is! The new Urban Decay Naked2 Palette!!

As you can see, it differs from the first Naked Palette mainly because it’s in a tin box rather than a felt box.

The Naked2 Palette also comes with a small sized lip junkie lip gloss, but overall despite the materials in the packaging, it’s pretty much a very similar size and shape

I have to say that the packaging of Naked2 is seriously sturdy. When you close it, it even clicks into place. It’s heavier than the first Naked Palette but overall a pretty good change. Think much more heavy duty.

There wasn’t a drastic difference in the colors. I think overall, Urban Decay provided a much lighter color palette than the previous with a mix of matte and shimmer shades. I can’t complain though, all of them are absolutely beautiful.

I absolutely love Snakebite which is a gorgeous frost brown with a gray undertone and tease which is a matte gray plum. You do see some familiar faces like Half-Baked again which is a stunning gold and must-have in any neutral palette.

As for the darker colors, YDK is absolutely gorgeous and so is Pistol. I’m looking forward to creating more metallic silver looks for the new year with this. I can’t wait to go tutorial crazy. They also included a standard matte black in blackout.

When swatched, the colors do appear darker than in the pan which means that the shadows are layer-able. Even though it might look as if Urban Decay is providing a lighter palette, that might not be necessarily true after seeing the swatches!

The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette also comes with a two sided brush which is really all you need – a paddle and blending brush. This is really handy for travelling. Unlike most in-house brushes, these brushes are amazingly soft and have a great quality to them, making this palette really handy for travel. I could essentially bring this along and not have to bring any other eye-shadow brushes or shadows when I go on holiday!

Besides brushes, Urban Decay decided to leave out an extra UDPP and opt for a lip gloss that goes great with the looks you’ll make with the Naked 2 Palette. It’s a Lip Junkie in a beautiful pink coral.

A beautiful neutral, lip plumping lip gloss. It’s super smooth, totally expected.

So there we have it! A few first impressions of the brand new Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Thank you so much Urban Decay for giving me the opportunity to look at it before anyone can even buy it and being part of your wonderful campaign! Overall, this palette is amazing. I’m not sure if it’s a must-have if you already have the first palette but if you are really looking for some really beautiful neutral shades like Snakebite and YDK, it’s pretty much a great pick. Plus, you can just see how soft and blendable those shadows are from the swatches. I’m super excited to give these a spin in the tutorial department so look forward to it!

This is me infront of Flinders Station in Melbourne with the Naked2 Palette! Urban Decay wanted me to take a picture of my new bff infront of a well-known landmark in the country I was currently in. They’re going to put me on the UD website soon!

Hope you enjoyed and if you have any questions, let me know in the comments section below!

Much Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I’m finally back in Singapore. I have no make-up on currently, I’m sitting out on the porch in tropical weather drinking an orangina and I’m pretty content. Nothing like a haul to celebrate. Sometimes I tell myself that I won’t be going shopping during exams because I need to stay home and study. For some reason, that never sticks. I always find myself scrambling to the store when I get nervous or a little stressed out and I find that a few items bought can be one of the best stress relievers out there. Here’s my little exam stress haul – a few drugstore foundations, a favorite from Lush and of course a little bit from Sportsgirl.

1. LUSH Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo

To be honest, I’ve been asking for samples of these at the LUSH store for far too long. It’s time I actually bought a bottle. This is amazing. It’s beer shampoo in the most simplest terms and although it sounds like Homer Simpson’s fantasy dream to be drowned in beer, this baby works a charm on my hair. It makes it absolutely voluminous, soft and flowing. It’s like a mini hair miracle in a bottle. Look forward to the review – I won’t be able to do a tutorial just because it’s shampoo and you’ve probably learnt how to do that since you were five years old and for other probably more obvious reasons.

2. Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse

My ultimate weakness these days has to be foundations. I love foundations, I’ve always loved foundations so feeling a bit of the stress, I bought four. I know, I know, bad Roseanne – but seriously who couldn’t pass on a Priceline sale. I’ve had a lot of requests of late after I did my Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Review to do the Dream Smooth Mousse. This is a hydrating foundation, probably one of the reasons I stayed away from it in the first place, having less than fun oily skin. I decided to jump the bandwagon and try it out anyway. It’s much like a balm and cream foundation.

The packaging is pretty cool. You screw open the bottom and the foundation is inside. I honestly think they don’t give you much at all.

And then if you flip open the top, it’s a compartment for the sponge!

When first swatched, it produced a really nice smooth effect (no, duh) but it blended really flawlessly and wasn’t weighty to say the least. I spy a bit of oxidation though which may not be prime in Singapore weather.

3. L’Oreal Matte Morphose Souffle Foundation

Score, I’m finally trying out L’Oreal foundations. Very satisfied with the Maybelline Dream Matte, I thought I might try it’s new competition – the L’Oreal Matte Morphose (so much for being brand loyal).

As the name implies, it’s a regular mousse and whipped butter consistency. The best way to apply this is by pressing it into your face with your fingers and then smoothing it out in circular motions. I’m excited to do a review on this as well!

4. Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

The Rimmel Lasting Finish 24 Hr (what used to be a 24 hour wear, and what makes more logical sense as there isn’t even 25 hours in a day – but not like that matters since foundations will never last that long anyway) used to be one of  my first favourite foundations. Funny I never wrote about it but seriously this stuff, is good stuff. It has perfect coverage and when it’s time to call it day, it fades out nicely.

Looks like this foundation though is the king of puffery today. It’s still slightly transfer resistant and I wouldn’t say humidity proof – the probably haven’t been to Singapore before – but admist the floating facts, I love it. It blends great, it covers great and wears great. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Look forward to a review soon!

I love the convenient squeeze of this as well. It has a nice sunscreen/moisturiser smell.

5. L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Perfecting Foundation

I’ve heard that along with the Revlon Colorstay, this is a drugstore must-have so because there was a 2 for 1 deal at Priceline, I picked this one up and dropped it in the basket. I’m not regretting that either. After a trial run, this is quite a liquidy foundation that blends nicely and finishes flawlessly on the skin. It’s light, it covers and it lasts for a reasonable time, but I wouldn’t say as long ast the Rimmel.

Who doesn’t love a pump bottle either. Apparently, it has super-blend-able pigments. I don’t really know what that entails, but ok, just go with it.

You can see just how nice the texture of the foundation is for a skin-like look.

6. Sportsgirl Make-up – Eye Like and Pout About It!

Sportsgirl is a clothing store and don’t be mis-lead, their make-up is actually pretty good. I am a fan of their lip products – including their lip glosses and liquid lip colors and not to mention their extensive line of nail polishes. I’m going to do a post on the sportsgirl make-up that I have right now. I bought a matte lipstick and I wanted to try their eye-shadows so I picked up a baked trio in Nude.

The Sportsgirl Eye Like Baked Eyeshadow isn’t very pigmented. I had to rub it a bit to get that color payoff. This shadows are best used wet when they pay-off much better.

I also grabbed a bright coral matte lipstick in Fruit Tingle.

I like the finish and the texture is manageable, not being over the top dry.

And there we have it! My exam stress haul! Hope you liked it!

By the way,  my baby says hello, I think she needs to go on a little doggie diet!

Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

Sometimes we should revel in the beauty of the night. It’s dark, mysterious and has a certain calm about it that leaves us thinking to say the least. One cosmetic line that revels in the mysteries of the dark is the brand Illamasqua, a well-known UK based beauty known for it’s theatrical and bold colors and products. I have always wanted to try something from them, having just entered Melbourne in Myer stores recently, but never got around to it until a few weeks ago when they contacted me from London to see if I’d like to join their list of bloggers. Thoroughly thrilled, I accepted and they were nice enough to send me some products from their Theatre of the Nameless collection as a welcome gift. So here’s a little haul from Illamasqua and my very first. Let’s go!

Illamasqua sent me their Theatre of the Nameless catalogue. Usually, I wouldn’t bother putting this up but this is absolutely stunning. Look how real those eyes look. The Theatre of the Nameless collection is about 1920s Berlin, cabaret and night-time make-up.

It is a rich and indulgent collection that encompases darkly sophisticated tones and a breathtakingly modern interpretation of the most illicit nightlife in history.

You can pretty much guess the persona of the brand right? Think cabaret, mystery and magic. The make-up in this catalogue is absolutely beautiful.

Theatre of the Nameless: “In this nocturnal den of the dissent leaders of the underworld subcultures, exotic dancers rub shoulders with actors and anarchists. Exhibitionists and Boot Girls openly compete for the Master of Ceremonies eye and all participate in the Club’s endless, pleasure seeking rituals, baptising their senses in an exquisite hedonistic frenzy”

“Teased by the sweet pungent tang of opium, the air throbs with the electric shock of naked flesh. Dare to feel the intensity of the club’s intimate caress by abandoning yourself to the glorious wonders of night-time make-up. “

1. Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Ambition

One of the new products added to the Theatre of the Nameless Collection are the shimmer blushes. They’re inspired by the mirroring of the glimmer of starlight and are intensely pigmented and colour intense so that they aim to brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face.

Illamasqua was kind to send me their powder blush in Ambition, a neutral dusty cool-toned rose.

It looks beautiful on the skin although I was a bit tentative at first seeing it’s cool toned based but after I put it on, my fears were eliminated.

It’s very reminiscent of the Timeshare blush from Everyday Minerals or the M.A.C Blushbaby. The shimmer is not obvious but beautifully subtle. Do use with a light hand for it is quite pigmented.

2. Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Beguile

I’ve never been a fan of pigments because the idea of loose powder scattered all over my clothes has never appealed to me. However, when I opened up beguile and swatched it on my hand, it had to be love at first sight.

It is probably one of the most beautiful silver and white shimmers I have seen in my life – it reminds me of the White Queen, snowflakes and winter fairies and is much better looking in real-life.

The Pure Pigments from the Theatre of the Nameless Collection are supposed to be “versatile performers” – giving a high shine metallic finish either alone or by bringing highlights to eyes, cheeks and brows.

I can imagine this as a beautiful highlight for perhaps the brow bone or the bridge of the nose to bring a translucent and iridescent glow.

3. Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Vice

The nail varnishes from this collection, or nail polishes however you’d like to call them, were inspired by the Wittenberg Platz’s domineering Boot Girls and are suposed to be confident and bold shades.

Vice is described as “deep cerise” or a decent red with a slight dark purple undertone.

It’s interesting because these nail polishes when applied don’t have a high shine factor, nor are they matte, they are in-between.

Illamasqua describes them as a new waxy “rubber-look” finish and I have to say that it’s indeed different than whatever I’ve seen before. I was quite surprised when the polish finally dried to this finish.

And there we have it! My very first haul from Illamasqua, courtesy of this wonderful dark and mysterious brand. It has for sure gotten me intrigued about what other products they have to offer. Look forward to upcoming reviews if anything is note-worthy for a tutorial or review or feel free to request one below!

Roseanne

Hey Everyone,

Honestly, I’ve been on a hiatus, a willing makeup ban, for the past few months. I never really understood my hiatus and I blamed it on the fact that I already had enough makeup which isn’t a familiar excuse to be made by a beauty blogger. However, when the blow of assignments hit, I found myself more ways than one finding myself at Priceline time and again. I think buying makeup is ultimately thereapeautic so my wallet can’t thank me when I’m stressed out.

Priceline is basically the Australian drugstore. Think of a hub of drugstore makeup – you have Maybelline, Almay, Covergirl, Loreal, Revlon, Rimmel, Max Factor, Sally Hansen, Prestige, and aussie brands like Face of Australia and Australis. Feuled by my hectic uni schedule, I gave myself a reason to buy makeup based on the fact that I’ve lived in Australia for the past two years but I haven’t yet tried any Face of Australia or Australis products. I know, shame on me. So here we go, the fruits of the haul, and I have a few more up my sleeve in the coming weeks. Enjoy!

1. Maybelline FIT Me Foundation:

Maybelline’s new foundation with the concept of perfectly matching your type with the number of shades available. I can’t think off the top of my head how many shades they have, but it’s about 9-10 shades or more, making it mucho easier to find yours. If you don’t know how to find your foundation shade at the drugstore, I give easy tips on how to right here.

First Impressions - It’s very glowy or a more subtle term – very moisturising. If you have dry skin, this is very good for you. If you have oily skin, you might want to look elsewhere. The glow gives the foundation a natural finish but be careful of oxidation as I did find my face getting a little darker throughout the day. The foundation is also very smiliar in texture to the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and actually makes a pretty good dupe excpet you’re paying 17 bucks instead of 75. Bargain.

2. Maybelline Age Rewind Foundation

As I was grocery shopping, this was in the discount bin going for 9 dollars. I’m in love with Maybelline foundations so I thought I might give it a try eventhough I probably don’t need any age-rewinding. It has goji berry complex and improves skin while providing coverage. I reckon I’m already sold.

First Impressions - The foundation was quite similar to the Maybelline superstay foundation and it was pretty good as a first impression. I’ll have to try it out more though before I can fully say anything about it.

3. Australis Fresh & Flawless Foundation

Finally, my first Australis product and I couldn’t be impressed more. Loving the hot pink and apparently, it’s vitamin enriched. I like the squeezy BB cream like bottle as well because it’s easy to use. My friend told me that her friend who is also my friend loved this stuff and uses it all the time so I thought I might give it a twirl.

First Impressions - This is a great foundation actually even though it’s cheaper than its drugstore counterparts. It blends really nicely into the skin and covers well, providing medium coverage at best. Furthermore, it tends to dry a little matte and stiff so if you’re all into being touchy feely on your face after you’ve done your makeup, it’s not super smooth which can be good for oily skin.

4. Maybelline CoverStick Concealer

I’ve always dismissed this product as a walk by product. Something you don’t really look at because you probably think that there’s a bunch of other really nice concealers out there. But, seeing as my MAC Studio finish was actually finished, I needed a new concealer. Not a liquid one either, my favourite concealers are often the balm like concealers because I can take them around in my touch-up bag and it’s just easier to apply with your fingers. This lipstick tube is pretty awesome.

First Impressions - I love it. I really really do. It was only 9 dollars as opposed to my thirty something dollars I usually pay at M.A.C. It’s so easy to use because it you draw it on your face like face paint on the areas you want to cover and then blend the product into your skin. It covers very well and lasts almost just as long. Don’t use this under the eyes, use a liquid concealer instead. I’m very happy with this concealer!

5. Maybelline Dream LumiTouch Highlighting Concealer

This is a new product by Maybelline and a sister to its expensive counterpart – the much loved YSL Touche Eclat. I always wanted to find cheaper dupes for the YSL Touche Eclat as it’s one of my favourite products. It makes you glow and it covers my undereye circles and adds hours to my non-existant sleeping hours.

First Impressions - This is a really nice highlighter but you need to be careful when applying under the eyes because you can get a white overcast. You do not want to become a reverse panda remember? Just one of my pet peeves. It does make a good cheek and nose highlighter though but the brush bristles can do with a little more work. It’s a bit like straw to be honest.

6. Face of Australia Eye Primer – Matte

Along with my Studio Finish concealer, I was also running out of my Urban Decay Primer Potion and both brands carry eye primers. Seeing that I already got something from Australis, I wanted to try the Face of Australia eye primer. Plus, I loved how it was like a balm, making it ten times easier for me to apply on the eyes.

First Impressions - When dabbed on my finger, I was suprised at how much it resembled an opaque white cream eyeshadow. I was a little nervous with the color because I’m used to the more neutral shade of UDPP. When applied, it does give that white overcast but as you are apply eyeshadow over your lid, it doesn’t matter. I find that it doesn’t stay as long as the UDPP but perfect until it reaches its threshold.

7. Covergirl Liquidline Blast Eyeliner

One of Danielle’s absolute favourites. So, obviously I had to get it. Plus, I already ran out of my pencil liner to line my waterline and tightline with and have been using gel liner for my waterline since. Not lining my tightline is weird though so I needed a pencil liner that would stay.

First Impressions - This is amazing! It’s super smooth, very much like the Urban Decay 24/7 liners and it stays on much longer and is cheaper. What’s not to love? This is def. going to be my eyeliner staple from now on.

8. Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder

Another one of Danielle’s favourites. She uses this powder daily and yep, I ran out of my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder so I thought it would be fun to try the powder from Australis since it’s apparently really good.

First Impressions - Yet another pleasant find. A similar dupe to the M.A.C MSF Natural because it’s such a smooth powder and covers well and does not oil up as easily. The range of colors is pretty sad. I’m an NC30 and I’m using their shade in darkest brown. Yep. A great on the go, touch up powder though! It’s still a bit dark for me so I would graduate to medium on my next buy.

9. Almay Intense I – Color Trio for Blue Eyes

I know I don’t have blue eyes but when I looked at Kate Hudson and then I looked at this quad, I kinda had to get it. Kate Hudson is stunning, always stunning and that blue shade is stunning. Next thing I know, I’m getting it.

First Impressions - When swatched, the colors aren’t as vivid as I imagine them to be. I haven’t used it yet though.

10. Almay Intense i-Color Trio for Brown Eyes

I love this palette, mainly because it creates the perfect flirty but natural eye looks that are great for first dates or back to school. The top pink shade looks just like the rubenesque paintpot from MAC and the brown is a beautiful shade with a maroon undertone. The eyeshadows come off pretty pigmented as well.

Makes a beautiful fall look as well!

11. Australis Creme Color for Cheeks and Lips

I’ve never been an avid cream blush fan. It’s never really my thing and plus apply it on my liquid foundation and then powdering it up eliminates the effect anyway. But, seeing that I should try all forms of blushes, the Australis one looked pretty interesting.

It comes off as a really pretty flamingo pink!

And there you have it, the first episode of more drugstore makeup hauls to come. I can’t wait to share more with y’all!

What do you want me to review first?

Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I’m finally back in Singapore which means that I’m back to my default state – being a blogger. About a month ago, I did a swap with the lovely Eliza who runs a blog herself – (www.beautyjunkie.onsugar.com), you should totally check her out and tell her I said hello! This is exciting stuff. My first ever swap and when I opened Eliza’s package, I was taken a back! I love every single thing! I initially met Eliza on twitter and I met up with her on my last holiday back to Singapore when we decided to do a makeup swap! Let’s open the box and see what’s inside!

Yeah I know, so pai-seh!  So much stuff and it’s amazing!

I love the pink colored and sparkling confetti!

Eliza was kind enough to include nailpolishes – by Anna Sui (which I haven’t tried out but I do like the rose smell that most Anna Sui products have), China Glaze in a pretty brown in Ingrid) and a Nyx Black Lipstick in Sweet Prawn. The lipstick is suprisingly pigmented and quite a beautiful bold pink, reminds me of my logo!

As we move on, we come across a beautiful wheat colored Anna Sui shadow and the current love of my life thanks to Eliza, the Wet N Wild Color Icon Palette! Later in this post, I’ll be giving a more in depth view of this baby because I’m in love! I’ve always wanted to try the Rimmel Natural Bronzer and now I can. The pigmentation is alright but it does a pretty good job at an affordable price. A scrummy japanese mango lip balm and a cure makeup remover sample!

I also received 2 Sally Hansen nailpolises and at just the perfect time because I was just about to go out and get a new base and top coat! Thank you so much! I’ve tried both and loved them! The Sasa Black Caviar masks also take your chin area into account and you have to actually wrap the masks around your ears so it covers basically everything! It’s super soothing after a long day! The Kimmidoll Jr. is also so cute!!

Everyone knows that I’m pretty much a sucker for chocolate mint (and orange chocolate) so this hand santizer that smells just like chooclate mint is delish! You can only get Bath and Body works in the states and I used to love the store because they often have quite a few sales and their stuff smells amazing. I highly recommend their Sweet Pea, Melon Cucumber and Vanilla brown sugar body mists. Reminds me of middle school, everyone had a bottle after P.E.

Eliza, you’r right hunny. Whereever you got this detergent stuff, I have to get more before I go back to Australia. It looks like its from Daiso actually! It’s just 2 bucks I believe! I washed all my brushes with them (even if it’s supposed to be for your sponges) and it takes everything off like a dream! I absolutely love it! Eliza, where did you get it? I have to get more!

But of course, as promised, here is a more in-depth view into the Wet n’ Wild Color Icon palette in comfort zone. It comes with two color variations, a smokey green and a neutral brown. Beautiful colors with the deifners having quite a complex sheen to them.

I love how the palette is nicely labelled. You can’t really go wrong, although, for asian eyes, remember to concentrate the color on your lower lid working upwards.

Just touching the color gives you more than decent color payoff. I have to say that these shadows are soft, smooth and probably one of the best I’ve laid my hands on.

One swipe and the deal is done!

But look at that, beautifully bold!

The palette also teaches you how to do some decent color combinations for begginners but I will probably be doing a review of this to show you the combinations on yours truly!

I hope you liked this haul! Thank you so so so much Eliza for everything that you have given me! I love it all

Much Love,

Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

Honestly, I probably belong to the category that has never fully understood the BB cream craze. It seems like these well sought after make-up products have sprung up everywhere in Singapore and even foreign brands like Maybelline and Bobbi Brown have created BB creams to suit their Asian patrons. However, these creams that are offsprings of Papa Foundation and Mama Make-Up base are nothing to scoff at.

Although BB creams are very popular in Asia and are stocked in shelves in almost every cosmetic related store, they’re not very easy to find in Australia. They’re usually tucked away in a Korean mart and are extremely overpriced. One BB cream I saw was in the 70 to 80 dollar range, I nearly rolled my eyes at the sales assistant for ripping off their own kind.

So, when MyBBCream (http://www.mybbcream.com.au) came to me for a collaboration, I was pleased to accept their offer knowing that I know most of you in Australia would be extremely pleased to know about an online site that offers popular BB cream brands like Skin79, Skinfood, Dr. Jart, Hanskin and The Face Shop with affordable prices. They also have skincare products in addition to make-up products, are the SOLE distributor of Skin79 products in Australia and offer domestic and international shipping.

MyBBCream sponsored me three Skin79 products to try out for my honest analysis. The VIP Gold Collection Super+ BB Cream, White Reviving Skin Radiance Cream, and the Diamond Collection UV Perfect BB Powder Pact. Here’s a haul of these products and my first impressions like I always do. If you are unfamiliar with BB creams or the brand Skin79, refer to a previous Skin79 Haul here: http://roseannetangrs.com/?p=9468443 .

1. Skin 79 White Skin Radiance Reviving Cream

This is a moisturiser with a gel-like consistency, cream-like appearance. Skin79 claims that it prevents against melanin pigmentation, which is the cause of your skin becoming more tan after a day out at the beach. It is pigement, mineral oil and paraben free with ingredients like Lecithen, Evening Primrose, Skin Renew Complex, and Flora WH which all act to moisturise and brighten.

First Impressions:

I really actually do like this moisturiser. Unlike it’s appearance which deceives the first timers with a very thick and oily texture, it really blends beautifully into the skin and has a very light feel. I’m actually not very good with moisturisers so I was filled with doubt until I felt it. It’s just like a gel and very light. I like that.

The way I use this is I take some of the product and I rub it into my hands and then lightly pat it into my skin. It’s even better when this stuff comes straight out from the fridge. The next day, I do feel that my complexion looks a little brighter but I might be deceived by morning bluriness. I’ll have to look into this more. For now, it makes a pretty decent first impression – a moisturiser I see myself really using into the coming Aussie winter months.

Here’s what it says on the box:

2. Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Super+ BB Cream

This is more geared towards dry skin. Skin79 claims the product does three main things mainly being that it helps in of course whitening (what Asian makeup product doesn’t?), improves wrinkles and encourages more elastic and healthier looking skin. With ingredients such as Arbutin, Gold and Caviar extract ( a very Skin79 thing), and Swiss Almond oil – it’s a very luxurious BB cream supposedly rich in skincare benefits.

First Impressions:

I’ve never used a BB cream as a foundation. I’m just not that kind of girl. I like the coverage and I like the flawlessness and I don’t have camera perfect skin so I can’t possibly use this as a foundation. I mean, I don’t have bad skin I reckon, but I don’t like walking around feeling “bare faced”. Although this BB cream may claim to have a thicker coverage than most BB creams, blended out, it provides quite a sheer finish. Thus, I like using this BB Cream for it’s other function that being a make-up base. Primers tend to do a great job to let foundations glide on smoother but they often aren’t tinted and can’t conceal too much redness before the foundations go on. BB creams help me do that as a make-up base and provides a nutrient rich layer (or so I’d like to think) that protects me from the more flawless foundation that might not be so “healthy”.

Let’s see how this BB cream really performs. As you can see, out of the tube, it looks pretty thick.

However, unless you have the exact same color as the BB cream, you will need to blend the BB cream out. Like most BB creams, it wil color correct slightly to match your skin color (you’ll be able to see a demonstration in the video version of this haul post). I honestly don’t suggest this particular BB cream for darker skin tones than mine because I don’t think it will color correct anymore than it will on mine. You’ll have to sacrifice the color for the coverage. You’ll have to pick one.

Other than that though, it does a nice job as you can see of providing a decent layer before the rest of my foundation goes on. It blends really easily and feels great on the skin, moisturising indeed. You can walk out like this I reckon if you’re that type who likes an everyday feel with sheer coverage that never looks cakey or even like make-up but I tend to love the finish of foundations with coverage. Overall my first impression verdict is that if you like everyday sheer then go for it. If not, stick with your regular foundations. Also, look out for the limited range of colors available.

3. Skin79 Diamond UV Perfect BB Pact SPF 30 PA+++

This is a powder compact with great coverage. Skin79 claims that it has a sheer and natural finish and allows for a moisturised glowy complexion. It’s main ingredients include diamond powder, blooming Jewel, floral bouquet and Mistletoe complex and extract. It also claims to have complete UV protection from both UVA and UVB rays.

First Impressions:

When I first tried this powder out, I was a little bit dissapointed. I had used my MAC 134 and expected flawlessness and immediate satisfaction. It wasn’t like that though. Then I decided to give it a second chance with the puff it carried in the casing and slowly patted the powder into my skin. The result? A really nice flawless finish that I absolutely love. The casing is pretty cool in that it has a seperate plastic seperator so that the oils from the puff don’t transfer onto the surface of the powder and ruin it.

This powder is very fine and very “pigmented”. It’s a powder that will give you plenty of coverage but I feel like it won’t look cakey. It’s just a really nice flawless finish that is hard to explain.

The only thing I think it should improve on is that it doesn’t particularly control oil well. I get oily pretty quickly with this powder which is an inevitable occurence with my type of skin, but I have used other powders and they don’t particulary oil up as fast as this one does. I will continue to use this product though beause the flawless dewiness is refreshing.

After the Skin79 BB Cream, concealer and powder, I got this result. You can still see blemishes because I didn’t put a foundation overtop the BB cream, but the pact does provide a good dewy and natural finish.

I also find that this website is awesome for BB cream lovers, especially if you are a fan of Skin79 and don’t know where to find them. They are a trusted website and deliver fast and effciently. I very much highly recommend them because of the lack of bb creams on shelves in Australia and other western countries.

Do give their website a visit! (http://www.mybbcream.com.au)

Overall, I loved the moisturiser and BB pact but I still have a few doubts on the BB cream provided. I just wanted to also say that I was fully compensated for my time, effort and skin that went into this post. Hip hip hurray! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my Official Statement. These are however as you can obviously see, my honest opinions about their products.

Are you a BB cream fan?

Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone,

I don’t know about you but crazy as this sounds, I’m getting bored of higher end brands. I shouldn’t say that too soon I reckon but ever since I’ve caught myself falling in love with drugstore foundations and mascaras, I’ve been putting my foot down on unexplored drugstore makeup territory. Trust me, my wallet is thanking me too.

Target Australia and Woolworths were selling all of their Covergirl products at 50% off. Yes, half off. I pretty much went crazy and then with the Maybelline Dream Mousse range on my wish list, I picked up a few of those too. Here’s a haul of the products and my first impressions.

1. Covergirl Clean Foundation

Apparently this is one of Covergirl’s top products. It claims to have a natural finish, designed for normal skin, is water-based so it doesn’t clog your pores and has a fresh, non-cakey finish. Coming from a more department store make-up background, I was a bit iffy on buying this but it was only eight dollars so I decided to give it a try and thought you might all like a review on it one day!

First Impressions:

First off, I’m a bit disappointed with myself because I picked out the wrong color. The thing with sales is that if you don’t get there fast enough, you’re pretty much given the last of the lot. But, I guess it doesn’t really matter if you’re testing the foundations effectiveness. I reckon it would only hurt your review on its lasting finish since I don’t really want to wear this foundation out and look like I just fell into a bowl of flour. Besides that, it has a really bad smell. There’s this thing in chinese medicine called “hong yu”. It’s this black oil in a thin glass bottle and whenever I complain that I have a tummy ache, my mom whips the bottle out of nowhere and turns into a masseuse. When massaged into the skin, it takes the gas out. I know, gross. But it works. Well it doesn’t have a very pleasant smell and smells just like “hong yu”, close to a medicinal cleaning agent mixed with mouthwash. I guess Covergirl took it a step too far in the whole “clean” theme. When applied, the coverage is light to medium and it has a very glowy look but it’s right, it’s quite a natural finish. I’ll be doing a review someday so stay tuned to that!

2. Covergirl TruBlend Foundation

This Covergirl foundation is all about a mineral based liquid foundation that utilises Covergirl’s colorsphere technology to bring you again, a natural finish. I can’t say much about this yet because I haven’t tried it but it smells just like the Revlon Colorstay. It was again half off and the pump looked pretty appealing.

Swatched, it reminds me somewhat of the Revlon Photoready foundation because it has a slight glow. I don’t think it’s per-say caused by any chunks of glitter but perhaps just the formula adds a bit of sheen to the swatch. I reckon I can tell it’s about a light to medium coverage and it’s very blendable into the skin. Crossing my fingers that it’s my color. If not, there will be a review. Didn’t want to buy this thing for nothing!

3. Covergirl Eye Enhancers – Pure Romance

This is Covergirl’s Eyeshadow quad range. One of my favourite YouTube gurus of all time, emilynoel83, raves about this quad in Drama eyes. Unfortunately, with the excitement of the half off sale, that quad was long gone before I even set foot in Target. In its replacement, I purchased the quad in Pure Romance – a lovely mixture of purple, lilac and light chocolate hues. It looks a lot lighter in the picture, but overall, it’s not a really a dark palette to begin with. It’s more spring, think lavender flowers, and a picnic.

First Impressions:

I’ve worn this look twice now. It’s not as pigmented as I’d like it to be but it does the job well for a quad that’s not too expensive. Honestly, the mixture of colors is a little too light for my liking because you know me, I’m more of a dramatic smokey eye girl. It’s a nice breather though and the combination of colors work together well. I’ll be doing a tutorial review soon, I think it’ll be worth the read.

4. Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara

This is Covergirl’s Lashblast’s unsung sister. I didn’t know that this even existed but I was in love with the Covergirl Lashblast volume, the original orange tube of happiness. Because I’m not a fan of most mascara siblings to the mascaras I love, I was a bit skeptical to try this out. Compared to the Covergirl LashBlast Volume, the LashBlast Fusion has more bristles and has “longer” bristles than it’s orange counterpart. It claims to not only volumize lashes, but also lengthen them. Hence, the name “fusion”.

First Impressions:

Honestly, I found that this mascara did the exact same thing the Covergirl Lashblast did. That isn’t a bad thing either. I didn’t see too much improvement in the overall length of my lashes but it did do the job in volumizing and curling. If you’re at the drugstore and LashBlast runs out, it’ll be okay to pick up the fusion as a good substitute.

5. Covergirl Outlast Lip Stain

I’ve heard a great deal about these things and with nothing particularly similar done up by other drugstore brands, I thought I might give this a go as well. This little lip marker provides a liquid stain to the lips that’s supposed to last for ages and for that “just bitten” look. It boasts a water-based colourant, a tint that lasts for ages and a convenient pen-like applicator.

First Impressions:

It felt like water on my lips and I was expecting the color on the main part of the pen but it comes out as a daring red on me. Not a color I like wearing out and about. Overall, it was easy to apply as it boasts. Who knew a marker on the lips was so convenient? The tint is lightweight and gives great pigmentation. A bit dissapointed how the tint appears way darker than what it looks like on the tube. It’s also quite sweet!

6. Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer:

After I asked you what you’d like to see bought from Covergirl on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/roseannetangrs), one of you said that you wanted a review on the Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer. Glad that it was pretty much the last on the rack, I grabbed it with an evil smirk. This eye concealer combines the effects of Olay’s serum into a concealer that brightens under-eye circles. I’m pretty sure that this is meant for older women but I guess it’s never too early to start.

First Impressions:

The olay concealer is much too light. Covergirl only provided two shades of this and I picked the darker one so I’m not sure who to blame. Instead of using this as an eye-concealer because I don’t want to look like a reverse panda, I decided to use this as a cream based highlighter. I blend it on the top of my cheekbones and on on the bridge of my nose for a muted light. It doesn’t really work very well but it works and I don’t see myself using it for its actual purpose anyway. Supposedly the white serum doesn’t contribute to the color but I think it does. I think they’re wrong about this one.

Maybelline Haul!

1. Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

Don’t worry, I’m getting tired of writing at this point too. Haha. Maybelline mascaras were also going for $10 bucks each. Hearing rave and not so rave party reviews of the Stiletto Mascara, I popped this into my basket without even thinking twice.

First Impressions:

I feel like the black color payoff wasn’t as black as normal. It was sort of a gray dark black. Like a carbon which wasn’t quite conventional nor that pleasant either. Nonetheless though, it did a great job with lengthening my lashes but not so great on curl performance. Volume was average as well. I’ll try a it out a few more times, it might be because I only just opened it. I never like mascaras the first time I use it.

2. Maybelline Dream Mattte Mousse Foundation

I’ve always wanted to try this baby, but of course I’ve always been skeptical about how well I could wear a mousse or how a mousse could ever be a great foundation. This foundation claims to give you a velvet touch, a matte finish which is ideal for normal to oily skin. You have to use sponges for this, using your hands might get a little messy.

First Impressions

Applying a mousse foundation for the first time was a little tricky for me. I whipped out my sponge, got a little bit of the mouse and started spreading it all over my face but I found that chunks of mousse would fall off my face so I didn’t know what to do. Eventually, I figured that I should press the foundation into the skin first before spreading and that worked wonderfully. This really does give you that smooth and velvet touch they claim it does and it does stay matte throughout the day or for about 4 hours at least which is pretty good! I oil up in like 20 minutes. It gives a very soft sheen, not glowy at all, very muted light which is also very nice. Applying additional products is a bit hard on this because I find that my studio finish concealer just glides off because of such a smooth touch so a light coverage powder to set is a must. It provides light to medium coverage when applied with a sponge.

3. Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

When I swatched this at the store, I fell in love immediately. It has the perfect consistency and texture that any liquid foundation dreams to have. It’s very smooth, blendable and had very good coverage when i swatched it on the back of my hand. I already had the dream matte mousse in my basket and I really didn’t need another Maybelline foundation to try but that voice inside my head said, “Do it.” I’ll need to talk to that voice inside my head one day, I’ll need it to tell it to stay quiet in times like these. This foundation claims an “air-whipped” liquid that gives 100% poreless skin that’s ideal for normal skin.

First Impressions:

Well, it didn’t give as much coverage on the face as I thought it would. It’s about a medium coverage but it does blend very well and the consistency and texture of this foundation is gold. My face felt smooth to touch after the application but I can’t justify the 100% poreless claim since I still did see my pores. Overall, so far, a great everyday foundation to have.

And there we have it! I just noticed how wrinkly my hands are. I need more hand cream. Remind me.

What product here do you want me to review first?

Love,

Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I’ve had a horrible urge to shop lately and not the kind of shopping that can be quelled by a credit card or a web browser either, the kind that calls for paper bags and more than a bit of immediate satisfaction. So today was shopping day and knowing me, I was prepared to walk away from this day empty handed as I often do but as I dug through my bag, I came across a 10% LUSH voucher. Recently turned LUSH addict, I merrily walked to the store knowing that this was my chance to satisfy a much abandoned urge.

I tried mostly all the products I got from LUSH (not very many) tonight. Yes, I did wash my hair with beer, slathered seaweed all over my face and then painted it over with a face mask that made me look more Smurf than human being. You gotta love LUSH right? Thus, I’ll give a few of my own first impressions of the slightly unconventional bath products I’ve added to my collection today. Plus, I have a little surprise from KIT and at the end of this post, I’ll quell your jealous smirks and tell you all about roseannebeauty mail order as well!

I have to say that I’m a huge supporter of LUSH. I’m not saying that because it’s the in thing to say but genuinely I feel their products are not only great, they make me feel amazing. Plus, their customer service to boot never fails to make my day unlike some cocky high-nosed sales assistants at MAC or Bobbi Brown. They always greet you with a smile, they leave you alone when you want to just browse and they’re quirky, funny, honest, helpful and happy. The sales assistant I met today who I fail to recall the name of (Sorry!) even told me what worked for her and what didn’t. She even told me what products to stay away from. Now that’s honesty I like. I’ll quit the compliments and get to the haul.

1. Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter

I’ve been looking for a good exfoliant lately. I didn’t want some chemical packed tube from Big W or Priceline, I wanted to take the more natural approach. Instantly, I thought of Ocean Salt, a hardcore scrub of sea salt, lime, grapefruit and avocado butter. Getting to the store, it was the first product I pointed at before reaching out my arm with a big smile on my face. Despite her wonderful hand massage, it was horribly too exfoliating. It kind of hurt to be honest. I then looked to the sugar scrubs and reached out my other hand. I loved the smell, it smelled just like brown sugar, but unfortunately I didn’t like the idea of me getting all sticky and sugary in the shower. Rub Rub Rub was the next exfoliant but even she said she didn’t like it because it dissolved way to easily. About to give up my search for a LUSH exfoliant, she instantly suggested a body butter, that being Aqua Mirabilis. It wasn’t as tough as Ocean Salt and the almond shells as the exfoliant meant that it wasn’t going to make a sticky mess. It was perfect.

First Impression:

I just tried this in the shower and I like it already. It’s the perfect sort of degree of exfoliant for me. It’s hardcore but it doesn’t hurt. The granules aren’t large enough for that and I appreciate its calm to me but tough to dead skin cells approach. It smells heavenly. A beautiful mix of rose and sandalwood. Me likey.

2. Catastrophe Cosmetic

I’m on a little mission here. I’m on a little mission to try each and every mask that LUSH has to offer and do my own reviews of them. Saying that, my next pick after brazened honey was slapdashly between cupcake (a teenage, oily skin fighting chocolate mask) and this one, an antioxidant rich blueberry concoction. With the unfamiliarity that comes with connecting chocolate to good skin, I picked the blueberries for now.

First Impression:

It looks like an utter mess, doesn’t it? I like it though. This was a really nice break from its slightly more abrasive sister, Brazened Honey. It was cool, thick and the little skins of the punctured blueberries brought a bit of an exfoliating bead, but nothing major. It was cool, soft and now my skin feels really well, soft. I can’t say too much for skin benefits yet. You’ll have to stay tuned to my future review I guess. Don’t worry, I’m excited too.

And of course LUSH once again takes the cake in customer service. They always ask if you’d like to try anything else (for free, yes for free) by giving you lots of samples. Whereas at the department store counter you’ll have to ask the cocky sales assistant with weak knees wheter you want to try something, here they pleasantly drop more than a few surprises in your bag. Let’s see what I got.

1. Sea Vegetable Soap

This smells wonderful. I didn’t know what soap to try so she just picked a random one out for me. I’m so glad she did though. It smells like a really nice guy’s aftershave. It’s seaweed, sea salt, lime and lavender. It smells super refreshing.

I love how there are seaweed bits in the soap. I haven’t tried this one yet. I totally forgot to use it in the shower tonight because of the body butter! Will update you though.

2. Aqua Marina Cleanser

I’ve always been at least a little bit intrigued by the looks of this cleanser. First of all it’s pink and then it’s wrapped in dark green seaweed. Kind of like a pink fish caught in a seaweed rave party.

I have to say that upon using it for the first time, it’s well very thick and creamy. It feels funny when it’s on the skin. I didn’t know if it was a slight allergic reaction or the feeling of a little bit of exfoliation going on. Examining the substance, there seemed to be no outstanding particles whatsoever, leaving me well mermaid mystified.

3. Cynthia Sylvia Stout Liquid Shampoo

I’m that girl who walks by the hair section at LUSH back and forth wondering what washing your hair with a solid shampoo would be like. With a 10% voucher, I became a little bit more than brave. Picking one up, I asked her to show me how to use it. Suprisingly she wetted the bar and scrubbed it in her hands and it produced such a nice lather. The founder of LUSH actually specialised in hair so I reckon you’d get some pretty decent hair products from LUSH.  You’re probably scrolling down and asking, “Um, Roseanne, why isn’t there a picture of a solid shampoo?”. Well simply because I didn’t get one. Because of my long hair, she suggested something more unconventional, a liquid shampoo made of stout.

I reckon you can smell the beer but I think it smells more like cough syrup than anything. LIke a really liquidy liquid foundation with great coverage, I was suprised at such a decent lather such watery consistency produced. After smelling my hair a few times, my hair doesn’t smell like beer and that’s good. Although quite slightly, being the first wash, I think I’m seeing more volume actually. *Plays with hair and sniffs it again* Hmm. This could actually work. I’ll use it for the next few days and probably tweet about it or something.

With the free samples you get, you also get a 10% off voucher if you decide to buy the product you sampled the next time you’re at lush. Very useful. I told you LUSH has good customer service.

But enough with that, let’s talk scent shall we? Particularly one very seducingly beautiful one that I’ve had my eye on for pretty much the longest time.

Nudite Intense

This is the scent you imagine yourself cuddling up with your boyfriend with – in front of a nice fire, on a soft couch, wool blanket on, while rain patters on the window. It’s the scent that urges him to ask you what you’re wearing before he gives you a kiss on the forehead. This is the stuff that makes people close their eyes and think of happy things when they take their first whiff. It’s pretty much undescribable but I’ll have to try. I am a beauty blogger afterall.

The package says that it has clean rain notes and that it has ephemeral notes like a gentle breeze with sheer, clean and rain soaked undertones. Ridiculous as that sounds, it’s pretty much totally accurate. It works with your body to produce this scent that is so seductive, not disgustlingly whore like, nor sweet like Victoria’s Secret, its seductive because it’s you. I mean, it’s quite hard to explain obviously. When you think seductive, you think of a someone with a bunch of lingerie and I know this is riskay, but its seductive because its nude, it celebrates the human form. It’s weird. It’s a scent, not a perfume which is why it’s in rollerball form and theres only 8.5mL for the same price as a 50 mL bottle of eau de parfum. I wish I could just shove this through the computer, you’ll understand when you smell it. It’s simply incredible.

The scent comes in a rollerball form because you’re supposed to hit your hot points (your wrist, back of your neck etc.) so that it mixes with your natural body heat to produce a very unique scent that is you. Of course it keeps to its original basics but it becomes stronger throughout the day with your body heat. I swam with it and I reckon I was the best smelling one in the pool. You never know what hot boys you’ll meet in there! Just kidding, I didn’t put this on for swimming purposes it was just that I was going to go swimming after I tried it out. Unfortunately, this was the second to last bottle I grabbed. It’s being discontinued!

Now of course, I really do feel bad that I’m showing you all this stuff and many of you can’t get LUSH in Singapore so I’ve decided that I’m going ahead with roseannebeauty mail order. The vast majority of you taken from the poll said that this was a good idea so I’m doing it. Please click here for more information on how you can now get LUSH in Singapore:

I know I serve an international audience but I want to see how it plays out with Singapore only first until I’m familiar with PayPal. Until then I will update you.
I hope you liked this haul!
Love,
Roseanne

Hey Everyone,

I’m probably known for having close to nil in the winning department. No matter how many times I recite my number, I will probably never win that lucky draw. Probably one of the first weeks back, the lovely Sarah Chaudry (It’s her birthday today!! Happy Birthday Sarah!) (www.facesbysarah.onsugar.com) contacted me to see whether I wanted to join an ambush makeover and that I could win $1000 worth of M.A.C! I dismissed the chance of winning anything since I don’t normally do and enjoyed the experience.

So, when I picked up my phone that morning at the office, I was totally caught off-guard. I had won $1000 worth of M.A.C. After five minutes trying to register just how much $1000 worth of M.A.C was like, I quickly tweeted and facebooked my gittery feelings away.

This will be the most epic haul in the whole of roseannetangrs and roseannebeauty history. I hope you enjoy it.

Of course, something like this isn’t fun when it isn’t shared. I have to say that I have enough make-up right now to last me till I’m probably eighty, which I know I shouldn’t do because make-up does expire but the point is – I’m going to be sharing this with you. I’ve decided to use my prize to help you ladies get a better taste of M.A.C because I know this stuff can be pricey – especially if you live in Singapore and Australia.

How are the giveaways going to work? - I’m going to sprinkle giveaways spontaneously throughout the next few months on my Facebook Page and on here, my blog. You will have to be a follower of the blog and facebook page to be eligible for the giveaway – it only makes sense this way. I might attatch a giveaway to a post, or I might just update my Facebook page status and ask who wants to win blah blah blah. It’ll be fun. I love giving and this wouldn’t be fun if you weren’t part of it.

So let’s see what’s up for grabs in the next few months shall we?

I was given a lot of Liberty of London collection products. I’ll start with those and hopefully this will be somewhat systematic! There were so many products that I decided to just do short blurbs of each and not go into too much detail. If you have any questions just ask!

Peachstock - A beautiful beige, peach, cream color that was I think a popular classic but now not in stock. Great for a more natural nude lip.

EverHip - Probably my favourite lipstick of the bunch. A nice bright and pink coral that’s beautiful for this Spring.

Petals & Peacocks - A bright fuschia that I think would look beautiful lightly patted.

It was so cute how the lipglasses matched the lipsticks.

Frankly Fresh - A pink/cream/beige that’s very similar to the Brush With Fashion Pink Cream lip treatment colorwise but I’m sure it has way more pigment.

Perennial High Style - a beautiful bright coral

English Accents - a pretty purple fuscia

I absolutely adore the eye-shadows from this collection. Most were velux pearl or frost, my favourite finishes.

Dame’s Desire - Even though whenever I see this color, I think Urban Decay, this is such a pretty retro purple.

Bough Grey - A silver grey with green undertones. Very pretty for a simple smokey eye.

Birds & Berries - Possibly the most sought out eye-shadow of the bunch. Absolutely stunning blue/teal/green. It’s a mix of things.

Give Me Liberty of London - a pretty pink that’s great for the crease on an even lighter all over lid colour – similar to my Valentines Day tutorial.

When I first saw this collection, possibly the first thing I wanted (but convinced myself that I didn’t need) were the nail polishes. I am so glad that Blue Indiais in the package, have always wanted this. I’ve never tried M.A.C nail polishes so I’m excited to give it a try. Vestral White is a classic white.

The last of the Liberty of London collection include the following beauty powders and blushes. I have always been a fan of M.A.C powders. I love their face powders and I love their sheertone blushes and I expect these items to be no less wonderful.

Summer Rose - a pretty purple toned pink that’s great lighly done with a stippling or skunk brush similar to the M.A.C 187

Dirty Plum - a gorgeous sophisticated plum blush

Shell Pearl - another possibly highly sought after item from this collection. A wonderful peachy coral pink great for cheeks or as a highlight. Scroll all the way down for a surprise!

From the Magic, Mirth and Mischief collection – I received the Miracles Happen Viva Glam Lip Kit and the Devil May Dare warm eye-shadows.

Viva Glam Lip Kit - 2 lipsticks and one gloss form the Viva Glam lipstick range going to charity. Flattering shades of red, very pretty.

Absolutely loved the Devil May Dare Warm eye-shadow palette! The colour range is just the kind I love!

In terms of other eye-shadows, I’m very happy to see Pearlmate from the Lillyland collection and pincurl and modelette for classic all over lid colors!

I also received a number of other M.A.C Nailpolishes:

Scorcher - a fiery and very bright red sure to turn heads

Blissed Out - a pretty and innocent nude color

Dim the Lights - A brown, scarlet colour that’s very similar to the colours I usually wear.

All nail polishes are cream finishes.

Also really happy to receive two neutral blushes that are often given too little credit for bringing life to a look

All’s Good - a very pretty peachy brown that pairs well with a bronzer

Plum Du Bois - a neutral plum brick frost blush that is potentially beautiful when lightly applied.

This is probably the first time I really had a dazzleglass in my hands. These are so beautiful, like sparkling gems. I can only imagine what they’re like on the lips!

Phiff - a pretty neutral soft and innocent peach

Like Venus - a hot pink bubble gum flair

I also received a five pencils – 4 lip pencils great for locking in color and lining the lips and 1 Kohl liner

Mouth Off Lip Pencil - I received two of these – beautiful coral orange

In Synch Lip Pencil - pretty petal pink, the picture doesn’t do any justice

Naked Liner Lip Pencil - great for anyone a lover of nude lips.

Raven Kohl Liner - a metallic brick color for your eyes. It’s really nice!

and that’s what $1000 worth of M.A.C is like. I didn’t want to go to in depth into all of the products, you’d probably spend too much time reading (if you wanted to) but I hoped you liked this haul!

Keeping to my word, we have something up for grabs right now!

Hey Everyone!

Like many of you, The Body Shop and I go way back. I grew up in an American International school and The Body Shop’s strawberry lip balm was a fad item amongst my 12 year old peers. At that time, it was the in-thing, along with the addidas superstar shoes with the three stripes and acting like a ditz. Now, the brow and liner kit has been one of my favourite products and I happen to love the scents especially Passion fruit, Grapefruit and Mango of their well-know body butters. I am also in full support of The Body Shop’s goal and morals of cruelty free and environmentally friendly products.

So when they contacted me about their Brush with Fashion Limited Edition Makeup Collection, I was happy to be given a chance to furthur experience the makeup line from The Body Shop.

So what’s this “Brush With Fashion” Deal?

Simple. For Spring 2011, The Body Shop collaborated with the London College of Fashion to produce a makeup line that is fashion forward and incorporated built in brushes. It also has Community Fair Trade ingredients and speaks portability, style and convenience.

In a nutshell from the press release:

“Ann Massal, International Brand and Innovation Director, The Body Shop, comments, “In the first of an exciting series of partnerships with the world of fashion, The Body Shop has joined forces with London College of Fashion. Our new Limited edition “Brush with Fashion” Spring Make-Up collection is a true collaboration. The Body Shop has integrated award-winning cruetly free brush technology and ethically sourced ingredients into its makeup products. London College of Fashion has created a truly covetable packaging design. Our expertise in colour has provided the perfect Spring Shade palette; their makeup artists have created the catwalk-inspired looks.”

Cool enough, the packaging was selected from a student competion and won by Katarina Voloder, a German 21 year old BA fashion illustration undergraduate. She included sketches of an eye, lips , brush and included splashes of colour to convey the shades of the collection. From Katarina herself, she states “for this project, I only had one word on my mind: BRUSH. This led me to create a brush-stroke motif, which allowed me to keep a simplicity to the design whilst enabling it to stand out,”. The Body Shop chose her design because it was fierce and fashion forward to represent their “cutting-edge” makeup.

Ingredients wise – The Body Shop has incorporated community fair trade ingredients like marula oil from Namibia which are acquired through The Body Shop’s unique Community fair trade programme that has actually been around for 23 years already.

So now that we have a background about what this collection is all about, let’s get to the haul shall we?

1. “Brush with Fashion” Illuminating Face Base – S$29.90

Packed with apricot pigments, light diffusing pearls and mica to create a soft-focus effect, this is a brush on primer. You would apply this before your foundation and after your sunscreen. It really reminds me of the Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer – same orange looking tint that blends seamlessly and colorlessly – and it gives a soft feel to your skin after. The only thing I’m a little worried about is a bit of a yellow tint but because it blends colorlessly, I shouldn’t be concerned. All you have to do to work this thing is to twist, it clicks, and the product comes out!

It’s pretty easy to apply but I’m not used to applying foundations with a click on brush. Don’t mistake this for a tinted moisturiser though. Again, it blends colorless-ly.

2. A La Mode Eyeshadow Quad – S$39.90

The A La Mode quad features a smoky color palette that’s fun and flirty for spring. Including a silver, white, black and pink, The Body Shop boasts that the colors complement each other for a catwalk worthy look. The quad also includes a pencil liner and a synthetic shadow brush which I think is pretty convenient because that’s basically all you really need to create that eye-look, minus the mascara.

The packaging is cute too. I’d prefer though that the background was not white but a more intense color, especially since this Spring is going bold in beauty trends.

The shadows are surprisingly highly pigmented and have great texture. See, you don’t actually have to pay too much for quality. This palette includes three frosts and a matte to smoke things up.

3. Boho Beauty Eyeshadow Quad – S$39.90

This has a more neutral palette and I find the apricot orange shadow a unique addition to the quad. I haven’t seen anything like this color and I’m looking forward to seeing how I can integrate it into my everyday looks. I don’t know how I would look like with orange eye-shadow actually. Again, this quad comes with a this time brown instead of black eye-liner and a synthetic brush to apply the shadows.

In contrast to the last palette, all the shadows in boho beauty feature matte shadows. The quality is the same – pigmented and true to color even without a primer.

4. Hi – Shine Lip Treatment (Pink Cream) – $18.90

These lip glosses smell so good! They smell like the passionfruit scent from The Body Shop which of course is my all time favourite scent from there. Highly pleased with the smell. However, I am not at all a lipgloss fan. I barely wear it because it’s sticky and it sort of ruins my day. That being said, I can’t place too much judgement on these glosses. They are however very similar to NARS lipglosses. You can feel them but they aren’t sticky but rather smooth.

Although the color is Pink Cream – in the bottle, it’s more a darker beige I reckon. Nonethelss, on the lips, it’s quite transparent and clear. So much for pigmentation.

5. Hi-Shine Lip Treatment (Juicy Peach) – S$18.90

Again, the same consistency and texture as the latter. I do like the brush applicator as I’m not a fan of the angled sponge that most glosses carry. I feel it’s alot easier to brush on the gloss and the small size of these brushes make gloss application much easier and precise.

As with pink creme, there’s not much pigmentation at all. I can’t tell the difference between the two swatches either. Both also smell the same.

6. Tailored Cheek Tint ($19.90)

I have never been a fan of cheek tints. I always end up looking like a clown or I miss blending a patch and it becomes all sticky and it gets everywhere, yuck. So I don’t know if I’ll like this tint actually. Under no circumstances do I think that this is the appropriate brush for the cheek tint. The gel turns pink very, very quickly, even on the brush so if you were to apply it on your cheeks straight off (like you’re apparently supposed to) then you have to be speedy Gonzalez or you will look like you just got scratched by a mad monkey. Nonethelss, this is very similar to the Smashbox O-glow in technology and texture. It has a very silicon smooth consistency especially when applied.

It’s a pretty fuschia pink but I suggest practicing first before you do this at 7 AM in the morning in prep for work. If you do, I sincerely hope you get to work in time.

Here are the product snippets from the press release:

and here as well:

My Initial Thoughts:

I would say we have a pretty good set of products here. I’m impressed with the shadow quads and the high pigmentation and very decent texture of the eye-shadows. I don’t know about the color combinations just yet because I’m a bit turned off by the apricot but I guess we’ll see. The packaging is cute but I reckon a more fashion forward package would be bolder in color. We’ll see how this plays out in the next few days.

That being said, this collection launches in Singapore on Feb. 15, 2011 so look out for it and do your own swatching at the store. You never know, you might just find your next spring makeup favourite.

What do you think about the collection?

Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

Bobbi Brown has always been to me one of those brands that I wish I could have everything from, but I know that it’ll be a heartache to fork out for. It makes you want to dilly dally around the counter, say “its okay, just looking” to the sales assistant, and one day put that product into your list of makeup products that you want but will never get. The neutral colour palette that Bobbi Brown provides is stylish, natural, and beautiful but the prices on the shelf aren’t at all flattering. Most products are in the high forties and above that can set you back quite a bit in the numero department of your bank account. However, it’s a brand that speaks. It’s a brand that inspires women to be not only pretty, but powerful.

so when Cosme-De.com asked me whether I wanted to try out some Bobbi Brown, I was pretty much ecstatic!

Cosme-De.com followed me on twitter and contacted me if i wanted to review a few products for them. They are  an online website selling cosmetics from basically all brands, including NARS and Asian brands like Kanebo. Little did they know, i had already placed previous orders from them before any sponsorship and was very happy with the delivery and ease. Their prices are very reasonable. So, of course I accepted!

Check out their website right here: http://www.cosme-de.com

So hurry up and tell us what you got! Ok Ok, here we go. I received a Bobbi Brown Gel-Eyeliner Set and Pastel Eyeshadow Palette. The gel-eyeliner set comes with two long wear gel eye-liners, one in Black Ink and Sepia Ink ( A dark brown) and the cutest and my first Bobbi Brown brush! No matter how small, we should always take baby steps! You can purchase this on the website or you can also get it duty free at the airport I believe! I’m super duper excited to try this out because I’ve heard so many good things about this! Have you tried it?

The swatches that the gel-eyeliner produces are heavily pigmented and the glide was creamy, smooth and fuss free. I see potential! I have been using a liquid pen liner quite regularly now so using an additional brush to apply gel-eyeliner again hopefully won’t seem like such a chore.

Another item I received was the Bobbi Brown Pastel Eyeshadow Palette. Let’s open it shall we?

I love palettes much more than single eye-shadows and the array that this palette has is pretty well varied. It features frost/metallic shades and matte shades as well. It’s great that theres a dark matte colour to turn any day look into a smoky affair. The light neutrals are nice for day time and the cool blues along with the warmer opposite half offer variety in creating new looks! It for sure shouts stylish versatility! I can’t wait to make tutorials out of this!

The warmer side features the colours in Ivory (matte), Baby Pink (matte) and Champagne Quartz (Metallic) that is sheer. I can’t see much potential for the first two colours except as a highlight or an all over lid colour when wet. The champagne quarts adds a nice swatch as an all over lid or an outer corner for a very neutral eye.

The next set of colours are cool toned and the palette ends with a good note on a dark matte mahoganey. The shadows are pigmented and I can see potential for a day to night look from these series of colours. You’ll just have to wait for the review won’t you!

And ta-da! That’s it! I haven’t done a haul post for a long time because I haven’t been buying makeup for quite a while, so I thought this might be refreshing from the regular content.

So what’s in store form this Haul – Well, yes, reviews:

The reviews will feature tutorials of looks you can achieve from the palette and my thoughts on the product. Same goes for the liners. So do look forward to reading what I think in the next few weeks.

I hope you’re having a joyous week!

Roseanne

Hey Everyone!

I’m sure you’ve all heard the word “BB Cream” floating around, but in a sea of foundations, compacts and high end powders, we lose sight of what this ‘miracle’ asian sensation really is. No, it’s not a bird, toy or a plane, it’s just healthy makeup. I see BB creams everywhere,  yet I have no incentive to try it out myself so I was happy to meet up with Lorraine, brand manager of the StarAsiaGroup which distributes a very special BB brand, Skin79, at The Marmalade Pantry last Monday.

So What are BB Creams?

A BB cream is makeup designed to be good to your skin. In the most idiot-proof way, Lorraine explained that it originated from a group of German dermatologists who wanted to provide makeup for their patients after treatments with downtime, without harmful chemicals or impurities. It was basically a therapeutic moisturiser that provided lighter coverage and healing benefits. This is why it is often associated with the word “Blemish Balm” because it heals blemishes and its more a balm with coverage than a foundation. It’s much like a tinted moisturiser, amp up the coverage a bit but boost its skincare properties to the extreme. Its glowy, radiant makeup thats healthy. Sounds good to me!

An Introduction to Skin79:

Skin79 is actually the first brand to make BB creams available to the Korean consumer market and have gained large market share in Korea, Japan, Singapore and lots of asian countries. Known for its adorable packaging making it an accessory to any vanity, it boasts skincare benefits from rubies, diamonds, gold and many precious gems. In fact, over ten million Skin79 bb creams have been sold worldwide since its launch with 5,556 sold every day! The brand offers 16 different types of BB creams, but it extends to powder compacts, concealers and highlighters and in fact, Skin 79 has turned the word Blemish Balm to “Beblesh Balm” to coin their own unique term. Even, the famous Taiwanese popstar, Jolin Tsai, remains the face of Skin79!

With the large range of products, Lorraine chose to introduce to me Skin79′s diamond collection that consists of the Beblesh Balm, Luminous Pearl Beblesh Balm (Highlighter), StarGlow Ball Powder, UV Screen Beblesh Compact…

And Diamond Collection II with their concealer, sun powder, crystal pearl bb, and UV Perfect BB pact. Their prices aren’t cheap with an average price of $40 sum dollars per product. But, these products do contain Diamond Powder and a Jewel Complex Powder of rubies, amethysts, corals, tourmalin and pearls so I’m pretty sure the $40 is justified.

Here is what I received from Skin79:
*Note that this is a sponsored haul. My opinions about the product remain 100% Honest as always!

1. Skin79 Diamond Collection, The Prestige Beblesh Balm

I must say cute packaging and quite tall so you get a very decent amount of product in there. I like how you can pump the product so its an easy application with your hands. It aims to whiten, improve wrinkles and its SPF 25 PA++.

It’s also really generous with the coverage. The mega downside is that there is only one shade. Yes, you read that right and I don’t even think that this is my shade. Its so light but apparently, one of my youtube viewers said that it gradually adjusts to your own skin tone for a really radiant complexion so I’m for sure going to give the product a second chance. A very nice finish too it, definitely not too greasy at all. Cross fingers for a shade match though!

2. Skin79 The Diamond Collection, Luminous Pearl Beblesh Balm

The applicator reminds me of YSL Touche Eclat with a growth hormone. It’s basically the same product with a bit more radiance to make it a highlighter. It does have just about the same coverage as the BB cream so it might do justice as an under-eye concealer as well but you’d basically dab a little on your cheek bones to heighten them and perhaps at your brow bone to give your look some oomph.

It’s cute, but its too big for your face to act as a highlight applicator. This big a brush would only be good for an all over foundation applicator.

Quick Pump…

It does give a brilliant glow though! It’s a luminous pearl shimmer.

3. Skin79 Diamond Collection, Star Glow Ball Powder

And this is Guerlain Meteorites in a pink halloween costume. The four colours,  colour correct and add radiance. I would prefer this to be a highlighter because I don’t want to look like a disco ball out in the sun. I’ll give it a try though!

Hope you liked the haul and hope you’re a little more informed about bb creams! Look forward to the review :)

Hello!

Beauty FYI: Elizabeth Arden 100th Anniversary Promotions – 9th – 15th July

Elizabeth Arden is currently having their 100th Anniversary Limited Edition Sets currently selling like hotcakes at counters from the 9th to 15th of July and I must say these babies are adorable. I met up with Elizabeth Wan, part of the marketing team at Elizabeth Arden for lunch at the Blue Mist Cafe and was able to get a glimpse of the upcoming promotions at the office, which was beautiful by the way.

She’s trying to take out the lip protectant, next to her is one of the new fragrances coming out and the red door lipstick next to the box. I have to say that the lipstick is probably one of the most interesting limited edition items. It’s a beautiful sparkly hollywood red lipstick only going for $19.90 each, but apparently its sold out currently as the promotions started yesterday!

Elizabeth Arden was also kind enough to give me the Eight Hour Cream Boxed Set, that retails for $42 and comes in a value for money package containing one of Elizabeth Arden’s cult products – the Eight Hour Cream, and two eight hour cream lip protectants. Now what is the 8 Hour Cream?

Well, the 8 Hour Cream is a sort of ointment, very similar to an Egyptian Magic Cream, because it heals any scrapes, burns, minor abrasions, and specifically targets dry flaky problem areas. It’s the reason why its so popular on long haul flights with celebrities with chapped lips or faces in the dry atmosphere of the cabin. It’s a thick syrupy ointment that looks like this:

Here are the other promotions going on from the 9th to 15th of July that you can check out at Elizabeth Arden counters. Do keep in mind that it’s selling fast and they will also be doing a facebook sign up promotion where they will be holding a lucky draw for five lucky fans daily at the Takashimaya counter.

Some other products that Elizabeth Arden gave me to try out:

I actually really like the Radiance Boosting Moisture Lotion from the Intervene line because it’s really light and creates a nice matte finish which is great under makeup. What’s the Intervene line? Basically 18 to 30 year olds can use the intervene line to prevent anti aging early because it doesn’t makes sense if you prevent it when you’re already aged.

I LOVE THIS STUFF. Ok, I’m honestly not a tinted moisturizer, light coverage fan at all so when they gave me this…I was so close to sending it off to assumed exile until I tried it. And my oh my, does it cover. It’s light and it covers. Fabulous.

Other items that I’ve hauled:

Sexy Girl Hair cologne! Got this while I was just walking around and spotted it for only $18.80 at cineleisure, sprayed it in my hair and its smells soo good. I have to say that the scent doesn’t last very long, but while it does, you sure will be attracting a few sniffs :) This product is also available at Watsons, John Little, Gaurdian and Sasa :)

Sephora USA Items:

Comes with three items. I initially bought it because of the HD Primer because I heard it was amazing. I did swatch it on my hand and…it’s very reminiscent of the NARS makeup primer in texture which didn’t work for me at all. Hopefully, it won’t be as nothing as that one was. The HD powder I already have in full size and as for the HD Elixir, it’s supposed to cure any flaky dry skin before makeup application so that you can have a smooth base to apply the makeup.

Benefit Dandelion:

I’ve always wanted this but at first sight, although it looks a little light to be used as a blush sometimes, it gives a fresh flush of colour that’s not overwhelming and great for neutral days. Happy. On my NC30 cheeks, light handed application won’t work, you need to pat it on to see the difference.

NARS Amour Blush – a posie rose with a slight peach undertone. Matte. Yea, in love.

Last of all, the NARS so famous set I had to get because of its value. Comes with Deep Throat, Orgasm multiple and Bettina Lip pencil:

Deep Throat is very similar to Benefit Dandelion and differs from NARS orgasm because it has silver instead of gold iridescence and its a paler pink without the warm peach undertone.

I love the multiple because it’s a cream to powder finish that’s easy to whip out when you need to bring minimal makeup around and need to touch up!

Haven’t tried this but I’m sure its going to be very similar to a lipstick..

I hoped that was fun and informative!

Hello!

I’m home, I nearly forgot how good the food is here. Roti Prata, Nasi Lemak, my mom’s cooking, onnomnom beats by far the sandwiches, hot chocolate and..more sandwiches that I had during Uni. It’s good to be back, but with any flight (which I got to ride for the first time the A380, awesome!) comes Duty Free Shopping!

Earlier in Melbourne there was a sale at the Duty Free store in the city with everything being 30% off, I just had to get my hands on some YSL that I’ve been stalking on Sophia’s blog (www.retailtherapy.onsugar.com). I had to try a Rouge Volupte, and I threw in a brow pencil since each cost me about $25 AUD only with the Duty Free and the sale going on. Btw, the sale is no longer…on. Here’s that webcam twitter pic that I posted, but I never got to blog about it, so here we go.

My baby says hi btw, she totally needs a haircut!

Just 4 things, but things I would never purchase at the regular retail price because its much too much expensive. The Chanel lipsticks I got at the airport for thirty sum dollars which was about the price of a MAC lipstick in Australia anyway. I thought it was for sure time to get some Rouge Allure thanks to Sophia’s posts too! But I must say, money well spent.

1. YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick – Beige Ultime

An absolutely beautifully designed lipstick. In real life, it feels heavy, solid, well it better be for the price you’re paying. There’s also a really cute mirror at the end and the lipstick is superbly pigmented. I’m not too much of an experimentalist so I decided on something neutral, something I could wear everyday so I decided on Beige Ultime, probably the most muted of all the shades.

I personally think the colour is much more pigmented than swatched but again, its similar to my original lip colour, but with a bit of a boost which is what I wanted. It’s super smooth as expected, not as nothing feeling as Shiseido but it kicks MAC’s sometimes too dry *butt*. A little heavy if I were to say anything at all.

2. YSL Brow Pencil – #2

Disappointed with my Benefit Speed Brow which turned out really uncooperative, thick and hard to blend, I needed another brow pencil anyway and with the discount, I was totally up for it. It draws a thin dry line but I haven’t done it on my brows. Benefit’s speed brow for me is totally a miss, much too waxy and too soft so i was totally happy at this one’s dryness. If that’s a word at all haha.

3. Chanel Rouge Allure Lipsticks – in Darling, & Super

I was browsing the Dutyfree counters at the airport and totally decided to just leave the temptation when i spotted Chanel’s new collection. I had always read Sophia’s posts about these beauties and decided to just try it on my lips. Oh my gosh, I thought I was applying fluffy clouds on my lips, the formula is absolutely amazing. I had to get them! I settled on a safe neutral colour, Darling, and the more bold pink that I’ve always wanted in Super.

The packaging is for one absolutely amazing, super sleek black with the Chanel logo in gold printed on the top, push it up, and the lipstick pops up ready for you to use. It feels so expensive honestly, well yes it is, but these are special, they feel special.

Darling – looks a little more neutral than pink in the picture:

& Super – pink lips are hot with black haired beauties :)

Speaking of black hair, I want to change my hair. I’ve gotten horror stares after I said that to a few people, but yea I think we all come to a point when you’re tired of it. But I’m not extreme at all,  that’s not the person I am but I was thinking of changing my hair colour to dark brown and layering it with a trim more, I don’t know if it should have loose waves through it :) I dunnoe, :)

I regret buying so many MAC lipsticks, look forward to a blog sale soon.

ONSUGAR MEETUP SOON PLS?:D

xx Roseanne

Hello!

I’m officially in exam season, that means me hidden in libraries with my nose in books, lectures, past exams and my mouth covered in chocolate. There are now officially 185 of you on this, and I feel that I have abandoned 185 of you but my excuse? Well, school. But also that it’s just easier for me to talk on a camera, edit it and upload it :) For me writing takes a bit of time if I really do want to make some sort of meek statement.

Here is my review first on Erno Laszlo, I put a lot of effort in the review including me at 7 am in the morning with my pjs on demonstrating for you the skincare, so if the fact that it is about Erno Laszlo doesn’t entice you, I hope the latter will.

Basic Summary:

Erno Laszlo is one of those systems that you wish worked for you. But it didn’t. In the first few weeks, it was pretty magical stuff. I had never experienced a skincare that made me feel so clean and in the review, you can see my skin glow because boy does it make your skin glow. In the video, that’s me without any makeup on, no creams, just straight off the regime. Loved the glow. However, as time progressed, my skin got worse. My skin just wasn’t liking it at all, blemishes, blackheads, the works and I’ve realized that my skin can’t actually take creams, oils anything close to more than a moisturiser and it doesn’t like toners either. My skin is, I’ve learnt, a minimalist. All I need is an acne gel cleanser (my gel cleanser of choice is Oxy Facial Acne Prevention with Triclosan, living proof that skincare doesn’t need to be expensive) and my Proactiv repairing lotion for trouble spots. A sunscreen for protection perhaps before the make up goes on and that is it. On seriously dry days, I use what is left of my Biotherm Aquasource gel and it’s all good in the hood. I’ve decided that I will be declining all offers of skincare systems with creams and oil products, heavy duty ones from now on because it just wouldn’t be fair for the company because I know my skin won’t like it.

The regime also takes more time and water than any other regime I’ve experienced so if you’re in a drought prone place or always in a rush, this probably isn’t for you. The reality of the skincare system is shown in the video, so go watch it!

Other than that…

I miss home more than ever and I’ll be flying over on July 6 for about 2 weeks, then back to uni again. Oh and plus, I’ve been sponsored two products from The Beauty Club (www.thebeautyclub.com.au) I’m always impressed with their shipping, so fast, even without the priority and shipping is free! Def. Plus. They included a nice card this time and I didn’t pick the products, the invoice just arrived in my inbox and me of course was overjoyed to see this in the mail:

1. Benefit Miss Popularity Precision Highlighter

SO cute.

Interesting applicator, I totally expected it to be a liquid and ta-da it’s actually a powder. Looks like one of those powder shadow tip applicators.

Here’s a swatch. Shimmery white, with gold and silver reflects.

2. Christian DiorShow Extase Flash pumping mascara!

I would insert photo but maybe later. So excited to try out the mascara because I heard Diorshow is amazing! Especially extase. As for highlighters, not a big fan but we will see how these go. I believe the Miss Popularity is a discontinued product but is still available on The Beauty Club and Strawberrynet.  I guess these are on my to-do list again but exams are always priority..

I’m still on my makeup ban. It’s nice to start buying more clothes which I haven’t really been doing much of. I’ve been mainly buying chocolate actually because I eat when I’m stressed out. And I’m hungry right now actually. When you see me in july, don’t scream haha. But, I’m trying to control :) I haven’t been tempted to buy make-up.

I do want to start experimenting with drugstore makeup though – mainly trying out the Maybelline Pure Sensational Lipsticks, yea Pink Please is in store for like 15 bucks each or more? Quite expensive. I wanna try that Loreal Roll On too and maybelline quads. Drugstore here I come! (Once..exams are over..which means makeup ban is over..) But, I feel pretty content with my collection right now. I have a huge haul from Sephora coming up in June because my friend, Darlene :):) was nice enough to attend to my HUGE wishlist >.< But, since when can I take advantage of this opportunity right? Life of a makeup junkie.

Also life of a uni student – it’s the wee hours of the morning and I shall attend to dreamland now with a 9am lecture (my last lecture of the semester happens to be 2 hours long). I dreamnt of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory last night, I was one of the kids, it was awesome! Talk about a current chocolate addiction lol.

I miss you all and can’t wait to see you soon :)

xx Roseanne.

Hey Everyone,

You might have already seen this post because I did a video about it a few days ago(?) BUT this time it’s cooler because not only is it really early in the morning and I’m more prone to typing nonsense (just kidding) I have tried some of the Smashbox products already but of course haven’t wanted to touch the AIW yet.

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette

Yes, you’re already probably fed up with seeing this palette posted up on everyone’s onsugar blog but I have to say that it seriously just grabbed my macbook off my favourite thing throne and threw it on the floor. (ok well not throw, more like place down lightly..on a pillow…to the side a bit..ok..can :S). TO ALL the people who offered to help me get it in Singapore to send to Australia, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I finally settled with the no shipping option with my good friend Tammy already studying fashion design at RMIT in Melbourne so she could bring it over for me! Thanks Tammay.

I have wanted this for so long. First off, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t take this offer – 16 eyeshadows, 2 24/7 liners and mini urban decay primer potion only for $88 but most importantly DISNEY COLLECTORS Item with a resale value of already over $150 on ebay. Can you imagine how much its going to be worth in 10 years? Commerce side of me put..aside, I won’t sell this in a million years unless of course, I’m on the street with a paper cup in hand and I’m desperate. But the downsides? Not travel friendly ( I wouldn’t risk it). I honestly can’t think of much. I’ve seen and touched and have Urban Decay eyeshadows and they are quality eyeshadows for sure. I’m very happy with the purchase and I can’t even bring myself to touch it just yet.

and I’m gonna be different and not show you whats inside :)

SMASHBOX HAUL

That day, my parents just left to go back to Singapore :( Well when Roseanne is sad, Roseanne goes to a mall and the mall I chose was Melbourne Central  hahah. I initally just wanted to get some household things though, never expecting the surprise that awaited! Well in Melbourne Central, there is a store called ZUZA which is equivalent to a very mini version of Sephora selling mainly perfumes and selected brands of makeup like Smashbox, Bloom, Bare Minerals etc and they were having a sale. 3 Bins were offered in front of me, the first $10, second $15 and when I got to the $22 bin, it was filled up with Smashbox items. The only thing I’ve tried from Smashbox is their photofinish so I was excited to get my hands on discounted products. YAY.

Here is what I purchased:

A Few Mini Reviews

1. Smashbox O-Glow: I’ve tried a little and its upsettingly dissapointing. Doesn’t turn pink enough to be seen and feels like I’m just adding silicone to the cheeks. If you haven’t heard of this, its a microcirculating gel that comes out clear and applies pink to give you that perfect flush. Not really.

2. Smashbox Bionic Mascara: LOVE THIS. Love this mascara to bits. It doesn’t clump, extends and curls. Gives the right volume as well which is hard for lashes like mine. I don’t know if I could really afford the non discounted version of this though so it’s not exactly sustainable.

3. Smashbox Trio in ON STAGE: LOVELY. The trio consists a shimmering nude (all over colour), matte beige (great for highlight, especially the brows) and darker reddish brown (contour colour). I love the shimmering nude, such a beautiful shade and its so pigmented, creamy and not over the top glittery at all so there is no fall out – thank the heavens, I despise fall out. The matte beige makes a lovely brow highlight. I need swatches – later :D

4. Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Liner: I love this one, its not creamy at all like the MAC Blacktrack Fluidline and sort of reminiscent of a ink tablet that you use for Chinese writing and I like it that way. I feel that I’m not getting a chunk of product on my eye sometimes, just true colour. Stays on all day and its awesome!

5. Smashbox Brow Tech in Smashing Brunette: Absolutely in love with this. I’ve never seen a more pigmented brow powder and the wax (i’ve never used a wax before) keeps everything in place. WONDERFUL :) So cute too.

Will Update Later!

Love,

Roseanne

Hey Everyone,

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!

This is honestly going to be a lame post that I may or may not update later, but watch my video!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Hey Everyone,

I hate it when youtube stills turn out like that :P

Anyway..So one of the posts on SG_Beauty really caught my eye last week, well mostly because it had NARS blushes, so I took the two :) I did a meet and greet with the lovely Clare who happened to be a subscriber and collected the following:

1. OPI Nail polishes in (From L to R): Glove you so much, Lincoln Park At Midnight, Meet and Jingle

I absolutely love the formulas of OPI Nailpolishes – they give the right coverage with only a sweep of color and I love the packaging – professional, classy and beautiful. SO of course when I saw these babies, especially the shades of red, i just had to get my hands on them. Glove you so much is a dark garnet with blackberry hues, I decided that it should be my nail color of the week:

2. NARS Blushes – Passion & Dolce Vita

Honestly, the picture makes the blushes look dead, especially passion, but they’re beautiful. Passion is a matte peach shade (not tan colored like it is in the picture) thats absolutely lovely on the cheeks – its peachier than orgasm minus the shimmer. Dolce Vita was surprisingly pigmented, and I found myself unaccustomed to it and buffing it out after. But I know I will apply it with a lighter hand the next time I use it- its a matte dusty rose color that would look stunning during the winter.

Here’s my attempt at a swatch:

Passion & Dolce Vita NARS Blushes

3. MAC Frost Lipstick – Bombshell

Yesterday I was at my friends house and I was reading Seventeen magazine ( The US version) and they noted that pink lipsticks go well on asians! Woot, and I can’t agree enough – well on me at least. I am absolutely loving MAC’s lipstick in bombshell – not an over the top pink thats soft but still has an edge. My first MAC lipstick and honestly, I’m hooked.

4. MAC Groundwork Paintpot

First off, the shade looks nothing like it is when its on skin, its much darker shade of brown that gives oomph to sultry smoky neutral eyes, It’s my first MAC paintpot woot, now what? haha:

And Clare was nice enough to throw in a freebie:

5. MAC Zoom Lash (mini)

Honestly – not that great a mascara – volume but no curl :(

Hey Everyone,

Haven’t updated my blog in a bit but here I am! I HITpan on something, I am so excited whever I hit pan :D and that thing is:

My MAC Blot Powder:

This product is totally worth it, I use it everyday and wouldn’t go ANYWHERE without it. and of course my retractable brush. It was $36.00 and I can totally see myelf repeatedly buying it until god knows when. :)

Well I’ll be making my August Faves soon but here are some things I picked up in the last week or so:

1. MAC Blacktrack Fluidline – $32

tried it at my friends place and thought I had to get it because my maybelline doesn’t last long at all but this is amazing! It was time for an upgrade and I do use this stuff everyday.

2. XXL Curl Power Mascara – $19.95

I dont actually like this stuff very much – it doesnt do as good a job as my Jap mascara, but I heard that you have to change mascaras every 3 months and I had that one for like a YEAR lol. I needed curl more than anything and this doesn’t really do the job at all :( I skip the primer because it honestly doesn’t do anything but weigh my lashes down. I’m thinking of getting lancome’s hypnose? Heard anything about that or do u have any mascara suggestions for holding curl and volume?

4. Maybelline Dream Mouse Eyeshadow in suede sensation – $5

I actually went out intitially to purchase more charcoal cleanser from LUSH but happened to chance upon the reject shop and found this for only five dollars! I’m going to try it out tomorrow to see if it will make my eyeshadow last even longer :) Its a very light frothy texture as all dream mousses are.

5. ECOTOOLS Brushes – $27.95/Set

Haha you’re probably calling me a makeup brush freak now. BUT ITS ECOTOOLS, I had to get it. I got this from Priceline which is like drugstore make up heaven they have counters like in a department store but all drugstore makeup so its mucho awesome. I was so happy when I encounterd it today. The brushes are soft, but not ‘that’ amazing or anything. I still like them though because my concealer brush is falling apart and my blush brush isn’t very soft for me.

Hope you like this,

Roseanne :D

Hey Everyone,

So after classes I decided to hurry and buy the things I’ve always wanted because I had so much work to do and probably would be thinking about them and not concentrating on work. Plus, life is short and I think make up for me is a prime investment because high quality make up products always produce more than decent returns (granted it doesn’t break you out).

After my finance class, I readily hopped on a tram to MAC to get my MAC 109. For some reason, now, I always want to get out of MAC as fast as possible, I think I’ve been traumatised by MAC SAs in Singapore, but the people in Australia are really nice.

This brush is SUPER SOFT and might I add that it is my first ever MAC brush! It was AUD$62.00 and I’ll use it to contour. I actually used it to contour today and it was kind of small so I had to spend more time contouring. hmm. I’m still using it though fo sho. Its a domed brush thats flattend at the top and it could buff out your contour if its too dark or if it has created too harsh a line.

Then, as I was walking back to the tram stop, I spotted LUSH. And since I was on some sort of spending spree anyway I checked if the store had the Masque of Magmanminty whch is a peppermint mask that has earned RAVE reviews as it cleanses and exfoliates and removes oil etc. I tried it last night and it had the most beautiful tingly sensation when applied and I quickly looked both ways to see if anyone was there before I scurried to the sink to wash it all off. Quite exfoliating and relaxing. It was only $15.95 and the SA was nice enough to add a sample of Porridge Soap which I heard is really good but it hurts when you’re cleaning yourself off. Verry …porddige mollasses oat smelling. :S

Mask of Magnaminty:

Porridge Soap:

Then as a final stop, and really what I planned to buy was at MECCA Cosmetica which had 2 NARS counters situated @ MYER Department Store. I didn’t purchase the duo because I came for the original large sizes and I’ve always wanted those sizes so I took them instead. The thing with me is that if I don’t buy the original and buy a lesser substitute, I will always eventually buy the original. So might as well save the money and buy what you want right? :D I got the NARS Laguna Bronzer and of course the blush of the century, NARS Orgasm!! I was so excited and the SA tried it on me and it was beautiful and it stays on for hours! When I did that video, it was still on and perfect and I didn’t put anything on it and it lasted for more than 6 hours..and more after that. I don’t think I need Benetint because I can just use this blush for staying power too. :)

NARS Orgasm ($62.00)

NARS Laguna Bronzer ($72.00)

Huge size difference!

Hope you like this haul!

hello!

I just got back from an overload of thai express and I don’t feel so good. I’m not good with spicy food AT ALL eventhough my family enjoys it very much. Stomachache – poeey.

Anyways after lunch, I took the mrt to Ang Mo Kio hub again haha to meet my sister and my mom before we went out to dinner with the family and while they were looking at taka jewelrey..something I have no interest in whatsoever, i took a look at body shop, especially the tea tree oil section. A few years back, I did try the tea tree oil foaming cleanser because it was on sale and I always thought that body shop products were a bit pricy so I didn’t repurchase it, but I would if I could. That stuff was amazing. Nonetheless, I was greeted with a this time friendly sales assistant who gave me the down low on all the other tea tree products, all above what I wanted to pay for a single item. Then my eyes drew towards a face exfoliating brush pictured below and because it was $6.90 I thought hey, it might accompany my oxy wash nicely so I brought it to the counter.

The lady kindly asked me if I would like to become a member of The Body Shop and I asked if I needed to pay anything. She answered with a simple ten dollar membership fee but what drew me in was the mint lip balm they were giving away for free with each sign up and an automatic ten percent off of my brush. So I was like…I guess it sounds like a deal and I’ll give it a try eventhough I was already spending more than $6.90 hehe..Then! she said that The Body Shop was having a promotion on their kits from seaweed to vitamin c to..that’s right..tea tree oil. With a membership, I got a what was formally a nearly $50.00 kit, at $19.90 and I wanted the tea tree products so I said yes! haha. All in all, it was only $35.00 spent for a number of great body shop products and I’m a member now :). See, if MAC had this kind of service, they could be a little richer haha. A review of the products is below, but first!

The tea tree oil kit comes with a tea tree oil facial wash, tea tree oil facial toner, tea tree oil spot treatment, a day mattifying moisturizer and tea tree oil blot sheets. Tell me thats worth more than $19.90 haha.

Mini Face Exfoliating Brush

When I first opened it, it was pretty soft. I was like ‘oh that’s gonna be fine then’ because I was a bit afraid that it might be too harsh, like one of those scrubber brushes. But, when I tried it with the tea tree oil facial cleanser, it was more abrasive than I thought it would be, even more than St. Ives! After I rinsed though, my skin was really smooth and my face didn’t turn red at all so it must have worked fine. If you find St. Ives bad though, this might not be a good idea for you. :)

Born Lippy Cool Mint Lip Balm

I can say that I like this balm. However, I don’t like the packaging because when the product turns low and you have long nails, the application can be quite gross to say the least. But it does really give you a tingliling feeling on your lips, smells quite nice for a person who’s alright on mint products and its moisturizing. The colors a bit off though since its white, and not as transparent as I would like, but it adds a nice sheen and turns intense lipsticks into a more subtle hue.

Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleanser

I tried this with the exfoliating brush but it gave me a really cool as in ‘chilly’ feeling when washing my face, a bit like the foaming cleanser but without the foam of course. Its a gel form just like my oxy wash and I hope to see improvements in my skin. I’m currenlty breaking out from unsanitary tweasers when I plucked my eyebrows the other day so I hope, not just hope, really hope they are eliminated soon. I don’t like 3D bumps on my face even with concealer >.<

Tea Tree Oil Facial Toner

Same effect with the facial cleanser but I didn’t have any cotton with me so I used a tissue haha, probably won’t equate to the same effects. I never use a toner, not sure what its for, if you do, do comment below haha but I know you add this to your face after cleansing it :) Do note that all tea tree products do not have a very appealing smell, its very nutty like amazonian rain forest nutty that I probably won’t grow to like but I may most probably will like what it does to my skin.

Tea Tree Oil (Spot Treatment)

Its in an oil form, not sure if it works since I only tried it once. It does give a slightly caustic feeling to my face, a bit like nixoderm when added, but I layered nixoderm over it just in case haha.

Tea Tree Oil Mattifying Moisturizier

Its def. gel base, not cream base and I’m thinking of using this instead of my Olay total effects 7 in one for now and I’m really hoping this product works. I’m looking into making it an everyday HG product if it does and I’ll only continue to use Olay when my stupid area between my eyebrows clears.

Tea Tree Oil Blotting Sheets

I’ve never used an oil blotting sheet in my life, and have recently been hooked onto MACs blot powder to do the work for me. But I think on days when I need to hurry, I’ll simply get this out and blot blot. It has that tea tree oil smell thats not very appealing so if you’ve just blotted and your boyfriend wants to kiss you, it might not smell very nice to him haha. :P But other than that, I gave it a try and I suppose it works like any blotting sheet but with the added effects of tea tree oil.

Okay, long post haha.

Roseanne

Hello :)

So you’ve probably had days when you wake up in the morning and the first thing that pops into your head is some good ole retail therapy (Hi retail_therapy haha). Trying to ignore the urge, you eat your breakfast, perhaps jump on the youtube bandwagon for a bit or watch tv, but in the back of your head you’re thinking of reasons why you need to go on some sort of shopping spree. And today was just one of those days. What was my reason? Probably that I’m leaving and that I need to make some movement in my bank account, mostly that I’m actually going to miss my parents and my sis and my bro no matter how many times they’ve made me annoyed and angry about the things that i’m not allowed to do.

So first stop Orchard. Well the first thing I bought was finally a birthday present for my bestie, daphnee, and she might read this but i got her a bag from my favourite store, charles and keith and I really really really wanted the bronzer/blush contouring palette from the ELF studio line but at John Little, it was sold out long before. I didn’t know that and I went and got dissapointed. POO :(:(:(. it would be so handy as a touch up palette instead of having two thngs and I got that idea from a superb video here:

So to make up for that, I got PAUL SMITH ROSE PERFUME. It was expensive. but it was worth every dollar because the scent, to me, is just beautiful. not overpoweringly rose, just a mingling scent mixed in with *sniffs wrist* beautifullness. I can’t describe it, it smells so dreamy:

I’ve been waiting for this day since feb. when i laid my nose when i was in rome. I was so close to getting it but i figured i could spend my euro on something else. there was a zara next to our hotel. so thats where those euros went haha. it was crazay, those were good days. my honeymoon will be in ITALY, my number one favourite place that i’ve travelled to on my list. Anyway. YAY.

The moment i opened the box, the scent lingered out, so beautiful, love it! and its cute, its in a rose patterened pouch.

ha-ha!

This perfume makes me so happy. Happier than my marc jacobs daisy one, shh don’t tell my dad haha. but i still like that one too :)

2. St. Ives Apricot Scrub – Invigorating

So the second thing I got was my St. Ives. so you know how I bought the OXY wash to replace my st. ives. well that was a bad idea. I’m so accustomed to exfoliating that I felt weird missing a step in the morning or when it came to removing my make up and everywhere I went I could not find my st ives blemish and blackhead control so I settled for the invigorating one:

I have the say that it feels like the scrub particles are slightly larger this time, so it does seem like theres a few more rocks thrown in there which I don’t mind at all when it comes to a good scrub to remove all that dirt trapped in my pores :)

3. And finally a few really cheap nailpolishes

I then swung by Ang Mo Kio and near the HDB areas, they were having a market where I got the two squarish ones for $1.50 each and the OPI looking one for $5.90

The OPI clone is super pigmented but dries kind of matte. its not supposed to be black, but it dried on black and matte which was kind of dissapointing. the two others were great though :) smooth application for only $1.50. I regret buying the OPI looking one for $5.90..grr. haha

Well, thats about it :)

Hello!

This was filmed yesterday and I just want to thank Debbie for including so many free samples in addition to the samples I bought:

Here they are (I transferred some of them to my own jar and re-labled them so they match the rest of my samples in my kit) hehe:

Well, winged butter and fawn was included but I thought that those really didnt match me so what I did was mix them two together, added a bit of sunkissed fair for a more pink/peach undertones and added very little of everyday bronzer to darken the mix just small bit and I made a buttered tan clone so thats why I labeled it as so.

I’ve only tried one of the blushes being apple and I found it more pigmented and not really matchng to my skintone as I thought it would. It reminds me of a ragdoll blush and its really hard to match that to my skin tone. BUT to avoid redoing my make up, I buffed it out and went over the blush spot with some foundation to lighten it. It turned out alright :)

Here’s my matching youtube vid:

Hello!

First of all, :) treehouseglory! you gotta tell me what you wanna know about windows movie maker and I’ll answer it in a post hehe so comment below, ask questions okay so I can answer them. I did quite a lot of advertising in high school because I ran the community service aspect of the school so I had to promote community service to the student body – but photosphop is def. not my forte :) Tell me yeah? I’ll be glad to be of service. Oh and today, I met Julaiha (fiestyskies) and her bestie :D awesome possum, to pass her the blushes before I went out to dinner with my two close friends! She watches my videos too, HI :)

Back to the post.

Well I knew today was going to be a big day because last weekend, I went online shopping, scratch that, I go online window shopping everyday. So, the postman was supposed to deliver some stuff but he took so long. Don’t you hate it when you’re expecting something in the mail? Oh, the anxiety and anxiousness haha. Then at 4 PM, I heared the stuttered vrooms of his motorcycle, so I quickly ran downstairs, ran to my mailbox and collected 4 small packages! (before my mom could see it haha).

Here’s what I received (I guess I should do a collective haul video sometime huh?) Onsugar bloggers will get to see them first :) ooh, exclusive haha

1. Beads – $2.40 for two thingies, ebay

You’re probably wondering if I make jewelery now? Nope. :) I wanted these to fill up my brush holders but I had no idea that 650 pcs was SO not enough. I’m so stupid >< theyre the right size though, so I’m thinking of going to Spotlight at Plaza Singapura to see i they have some beads, if not 650 pcs is only $2.40 and I might triple that amount to fill enough of the holder. I got these off of ebay from craftiholics. :)

2. Nyx Lipstick in Ceto ($2.50), sg_beauty

I have to say its a beautiful color but really shimmery. You know me and shimmer right? haha. I gave this one a try actually and its not as moisutrizing as my other nyx lipsticsks which I have in thalia, B52 and tea rose. It’s beautiful though. Perhaps because its shimmery. Its still a beautiful color, maybe when I’m wearing a beige or cream color top, it would look nice :) Oh maybe its because its new. :) I’ll wear it a few times, should be okay after that :D.

3. Everyday Minerals Once & Again Blush, $2.50, sgedmswap

This was a matte blush and it had pinkish and brownish undertones, I loved the name, and thought to add it to my blush collection. It turned out a lot darker than I thought it would be but I haven’t tried it yet so I can give you the yay or the nay of it. I’ll be doing some kind of video tomorrow so I’ll try it on and tell you about it :)

4. Epistick, $7.00 (stupid me, didnt see the other options before hitting commit), ebay

It’s an epistick to remove unwanted facial hair and it uses the threading method. It’s basically a portable threader :0 I’m using it for my facial hair, not my eyebrows, you know where. embarassing it is. Anyway it was 7 bucks, and i could have got it for 4, but stupid roseanne didn’t scroll down and just hit commit to buy on ebay. I haven’t tried this gadget out so I guess I’m going to have to tell you bout it later :).

Here’s the back:

You just bend the rod and roll the ends between your fingertips, its going to hurt, but better than paying ten bucks to get myself threaded every time right? And yes, I know it works because its on youtube. :) Roseanne did her research :P

And…tonight, I was showing my friend in the bathroom about MAC blot powder and she wanted to swing by MAC to see how it is on her skin. I was browisng the items, and I’ve wanted Fix+ for a while to fix my make up so because I reasoned with myself on how I’m leaving next week, I bought it!

5. MAC Fix +, $25.00, MAC

I didn’t get the MAC Fix+ rose because they didnt have it anymore :( But I actually really like the scent of the normal Fix+ so Yay :)

Feels really refreshing and I’m going to add it to my make up routine at the very end :) I shall not say much of it anymore, you probably already have one haha.

Here’s how Enkore uses his Fix+

But what I do wanna know is how you use your Fix +. So what do you use Fix+ for? Comment below!

Love,

Roseanne
