Biggest THE BALM Make-Up Haul , Ever! | Swatches & Giveaway!
Hey Everyone!
I am so eggscited because today I have a major haul for you courtesy of The Balm! I’ve always been excited about The Balm and have a few favourites from there mainly the Mary-Lou Manizer (which is a holy grail highlighter for many) and the Meet Matt(e) Hughs liquid lipsticks. They’re great and the packaging is super fun. Currently in Singapore, it’s being sold in Sasa stores but isn’t widely available as it’s not stocked in the major drugstore or department stores. Although this is the case, Sasa is pretty much everywhere too. When The Balm contacted me to see if I wanted to try some of their products, I was pretty over the moon but never did I expect something this huge. At the end of this post I have a giveaway because I totally need to share the joy with you. Can’t wait to read your entries but for now, let’s get started and see what’s inside!
The first palette is something I’ve been totally eyeing – it’s the Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette. Notice the play on words – each color is like meeting a new guy named Matt and all the colors are of course matte in texture. I think this palette provides a good mix of lights and darks and they’re overall very pigmented. Although some lack as much creaminess as the other, it still is overall an amazing selection of shades.
I also received the Nude Dude palette! Oh my gosh guys, when I first opened this up, I have to say that I was a little shy. It’s full of naked men! Well thankfully, not fully nude but you get the idea! The eyeshadows look gorgeous though and they have a really nice mix of neutral shades – all in the names of what characteristics you’d want in a guy.
Moving onto the cheeks, The Balm always has a huge selection of cheek products. Currently in my collection before this haul, I had Mary Lou Manizer, and one of my favourite blushes The Balm Hot Mama which claims to be a dupe for the NARS Orgasm blush. It comes really close! These are interesting aren’t they? They are called Instain which is a powder staining blush. I think the whole idea is that the pigment gradually stains your cheeks making your blush appear long-lasting.
If you notice, they’re all named after different clothing patterns like houndstooth (a more muave blush) and swissdot (a more peachy pink)! I haven’t tried them yet on my cheeks but the swatches look great.
Next up we have the other The Balm powders which I was really excited about to receive Fratboy and Balm Beach which are super pretty natural looking blushes. Fratboy kind of reminds me of Dandelion while Balm Beach is more of a pinkish toned highlighter for medium skintones. Bahama Mama is a really famous bronzer so I was really happy to see that too.
Here are some swatches of the above. Look how gorgeous Fratboy is, I love it! Balm Desert isn’t’ as brown as Bahama Mama, it has blush tones to it. I can’t wait to try them out!
Then of course we move on to the iconic Mary-Lou Manizer and Betty-Lou Manizer! Mary-Lou is again easily one of my holy grail highlighters that’s super classic. It’s like the perfect shade for a highlighter – not too frosty white but more on the natural side. I absoutely love it. It’s like Hoola is to Benefit, Mary-Lou is to The Balm. You have to try it ;). Then Betty-Lou is the bronzing version of that. I’m not too keen on glittery bronzers. Maybe I’ll try it tomorrow and update you on snapchat!
When it comes to the eyes, we have the new Batter Up Eyeshadow sticks. They’re like big baseball bats. I used to play a bit of baseball in school during P.E, it was really fun! Anyway, back to make-up these are your standard cream shadow sticks in a variety of natural and neutral shades which is nice.
When I swatched them on my arm, they turned out really creamy and pigmented and I was impressed with how easily it could glide on my skin. My favourite colours probably are Nightgame, Outfield and Curveball! What are yours?
It’s lip time and of course we can’t forget these Pickup Lip Liners. The names are all pickup lines aren’t they so cute! Although looking at the batch I felt that a lot of the liner colors looked really similar, they’re actually pretty different. Again these glided on really smoothly and weren’t as drying as other lip liners I’ve tried.
Here are your colors! Quite a nice range if I may say so myself! Chemistry is absolutely gorgeous!
Something I absolutely love is the Meet Matt(e) Hughes long-lasting liquid lipsticks. They are matte liquid lipsticks that dry and don’t transfer. They have quite a flexible texture meaning it doesn’t cake or powder up on the lips like other liquid lipsticks do and they smell just like peppermint! I didn’t even know there were this many Matt(e) Hughes shades!
I randomly picked one to swatch on my lips and ended up with Charming which is gorgeous!
Last but not least, I totally didn’t know that The Balm had the last two products – the Schwing Liner and Mad Lash Mascara. Love the packaging but I have yet to try them out!
Hope you enjoyed my haul and now it’s time for the much-anticipated GIVEAWAY! I asked you guys on snapchat what you wanted the most and thank you so much for replying :) I’m giving away 1 x The Balm NudeDude Eye-shadow Palette & a Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter!!
