Hey Everyone!
Today I want to express my love for a newly launched holy grail – the new Make-Up Forever Matte Velvet Skin Multi-Use High Coverage Concealer.
I’m no stranger to high coverage matte concealers – my favourites being the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and the Too Faced Born This Way. I prefer these types of concealers because they are able to totally wipe out blemishes and dark eye circles, look super smooth and last longer. However, the cons of these types of concealers are that they are quite drying under the eye so be warned for those who have very dry under eye areas. In my opinion, they perform much better than hydrating concealers in longevity and coverage. I really like them.
The Make-Up Forever Matte Velvet Skin Multi-Use High Coverage Concealer boasts the ability to conceal, correct and cover with full coverage 24hr wear and a breathe-able matte finish. When you open up the concealer, the wand looks just like the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It’s huge and I like this type of wand because it’s easier to apply over a larger surface area.
I also realise the texture of the concealer is actually quite thick and mousse like. It is for sure entirely a matte finish and it looks very smooth and weightless when blended out.
My Make-Up Forever Matte Velvet Skin Multi-Use High Coverage Concealershade is in 2.3 and I am about a M.A.C NC30 and Too Faced Born This Way shade in Vanilla. I have been trying out this concealer everyday for about a week and I am really in love with it. I really think this concealer is the bomb if you are looking for an alternative to the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.
I usually take the wand and dot the face under the eye, down the nose and on the forehead. Then I like to use a sponge to blend it out by tapping and blending on the face. The finish that you get is super smooth, pore-less and matte and very full coverage. However, I love it because it’s so smooth but not so heavy and not drying at all unlike the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. I genuinely think that this is better than the Tarte Shape Tape!
As I wear this for the whole day at work, I found it lasting extremely well. I didn’t need to touch up at the end of the long day even with a mask on.
Guys, I highly recommend this concealer. The only time I wouldn’t is if you actually don’t like the full coverage style and prefer something thinner and more luminous. For this, I would recommend the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer or the Tarte Creaseless Concealer.
As compared to the Tarte Shape Tape, the Make-Up Forever Matte Velvet Skin Concealers start off thicker and mousse-like. When blended out, the finish is comparable and so is the coverage. However, the MUFE is more pore-less looking and smoother. I feel also throughout the day, it’s not as dry as shape tape which is a huge plus.
Overall, this is really a concealer to check-out! Hope you enjoyed this!
Love, Roseanne
