Review: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation!

Hey Everyone!

You can probably tell that I’m on a drugstore liquid foundation rampage. Actually, that rampage has been going on for quite some time now. There’s just something about foundation that makes me happy. I think it does the best job in transforming a face, it instantly takes away scars and redness, making your complexion flawless (well the good ones do at least). That and concealer and blush are probably necessities in ever makeup vanity. Today I’ll be adding into the archives a much loved foundation, the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation.

Packaging

Smart packaging. There’s no extra cap to drop and lose because the bottle has a twist function that allows for the foundation to be pumped out. I love pump bottles so much better because you can control how much of the foundation you need for the face. About 2-3 pumps is sufficient for mine.

Texture

When I first got my paws on a bottle at Priceline (the Aussie drugstore) and swatched it on my hand, it was pretty much love at first sight. The texture was a dream. On the bottle it says air whipped which already adds to the effect of it being marshmallow soft. It is. It feels a lot like whipped cream and blends evenly and flawlessly. It is a dream texture.

Tools

The best way to use this is to use this foundation is with a paddle brush because that’s the only way I tried using it that didn’t involve a sponge. Sponge + this foundation isn’t a bad match either. Either way, you’ll get a flawless finish.

Coverage

Start bare then using a paddle brush apply the foundation in short dabbing motions. Pictured here is half the face. The coverage is quite good and leaves the face nice and flawless. It takes care of red spots and blemishes but will not take care of large zits. You’ll need a concealer for that but that is expected.

The full face before powder and concealer:

You can see up close that it blends so well that you can’t really tell that I’m wearing foundation even up close. The foundation also leaves a nice glow and covers really well. Pores are still visible but it’s still alright!

Overall, a pretty good foundation.

Maybelline claims that it is – 100% Poreless Skin and provides Air Brushed Perfection which is true in a way. I wouldn’t say 100% poreless skin because you can still see my pores but the texture does help to minimize their appearance. There are a few downsides to this foundation though! It does oxidize throughout the day and the oil control and staying power is below average. Thus, if you have a short function like a party, it would be best to use this but not for a long day of sweating and being outside.

Flawless, but could improve in more ways than one.

Hope you liked this review!

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

Love,
Roseanne
