My Drugstore Favourites & A Chance to WIN Them!!

Hey Everyone,

I decided to make a combined post announcing my 4,000 Subscriber Giveaway and my drugstore favourites!! I know, I know, I vaguely recall saying that I’m all about the department stuff but I have recently discovered that many products at the drugstore have really impressed me. MAC got a little boring and my bank account started to lose digits so I decided to try out some YouTube holy grails and I have found a set of my own.

1. Tresemme Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner

I’m not gonna lie, I get a lot of questions about my hair. What do I put on it? What do I do to it? The answer is..really..nothing. But I absolutely must have a good shampoo and conditioner and if I don’t use conditioner, you do not want to see me. The two things I use in Australia thanks to the dry weather are the Tresemme Moisture Rich range and I find that these babies do make my hair silky soft and pretty. :) They’re about eleven dollars for big bottles so they aren’t too bad in the price department either. The only other shampoo and conditioner I’ll use is by Sunsilk and that’s the brand I use in Singapore because Tresemme isn’t available.

2. Ecotools Brushes:

Super soft and well, eco-friendly. My favourite brush out of this lot is the concealer brush. It’s magical and great for any spot concealing whether it be for mineral, cream or liquid. Fabulous. The eyeshadow brush is great for bases like paint pots and I use the angled liner brush to apply brow powder and comb it through with the brow comb. The blush brush makes a great powder brush more than for blush but it suits both functions.

3. Maybelline SuperStay Makeup

This foundation was a bit of a mistake discovery. I never thought to go out and purchase it until one of my besties bought the wrong shade and it happened to be mine. I’m in love with it because it provides excellent coverage without feeling too heavy and it has a great lasting power too. It doesn’t control oil as well as the Revlon Colorstay but it makes for a good everyday foundation.

4. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

You’ve probably heard me yelling loud and proud about the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural but this makes a good dupe without as much coverage. It’s also not such a smooth powder but it’s excellent for a cake-less way to set any make-up. This powder is my go-to powder especially with the Australian heat finally returning, I need a lighter powder to set with.

4. Covergirl Lashblast Mascara

Okay okay, I know, you’re probably wondering – isn’t this hyped? Well, I can say that hype for sure exists for a reason. This is a great mascara for lengthening, curling and doing all the things a mascara is supposed to do. It’s like a no-brainer, fuss-free way to get pimped up lashes.

5. Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad

I just realized that there’s quite a few Maybelline products in here! This quad is affordable, provides awesome color combinations and makes great pigmented shadows. What can I say? I chose the one in Natural smokes for my giveaway just because I hope it reminds you of me. I’m always wearing that NARS Cordura :)

6. Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye-Definer

Another mistake discovery. My liner wore off after a teary movie and I felt a little insecure so I hurried while my friends were at Target and I picked this up for only eight bucks. It works just as well as any pencil liner and it stays a decent amount of time. I like Rimmel, I like it a lot.

7. Simple Eye-Makeup Remover

After having all that make-up, it’s always important to find a way to remove it. I love this eye-makeup remover because of it’s non-greasy formula, it’s kind of like magic water and it’s able to take everything off!

8. Biore Pore UnClogging Scrub

My new favourite exfoliant. Smells so good and fresh and it’s great for days you feel all mucky and gross. My skin appears fresher, cleaner.

9. Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer

Initially I didn’t like this because I was wearing mineral make-up and the primer made it last less. However, I find it really good for liquid foundations because it smooths out the canvas so that I can apply my foundation flawlessly. I always put it on after my sunscreen and don’t worry about the orange tint because it sort of is able to colour correct your complexion and blend out to an invisible finish.
