Hey Everyone,
It’s that special time of year when you’re either calling bids that Valentine’s Day is just a marketing gimmick, lucky enough you have someone special to celebrate with or like me, crying your eyes out. Just kidding! But seriously, Mr. Right better get on a segway soon, he seems to be walking and smelling the flowers at the same time. Nevertheless, what’s a beautiful valentine night without looking your best for your significant other? Thus, here’s a look that I hope will make you the apple of his eyes. :)
I wanted to create a look with The Body Shop A La Mode quad from the Brush with Fashion Collection so pretty much, the eyes were created using the quad with the exception of the mascara. You always have to keep the same concept of having a lighter color all over the lid and a darker or more colorful outer-corner. That being said, I had either silver or white to work with because pink all over the lid might look like you have a rash – trying out both, I picked the white. I do hope you fall in love with this look!
Step 1: Apply an eye-base. You don’t want oily looking lids or droopy shadows on your date. This will also help create a bare canvas so your colors show up better.
Pat the base all over your eye-lid!
Step 2: Apply a white eye-shadow (in the A la Mode – Minimalist White) all over your lid.
I used the MAC 217, one of my favourite brushes. It blends and is able to pack on color!
Step 3: Apply a pink eye-shadow (A la Mode Quad – Pret a Pink) on the outer corners, blending into the crease.
This will give you dimension and go well with the sweetheart theme!
Step 4: Apply a black eye-shadow and use the shadow to smoke up your lid line
This is a little bit of nighttime since most dates I reckon are…at night
Step 5: Use a black eye-iner and have fun lining your lid, waterline and tightline
You can use brown liner but I like it dark.
Apply two coats of mascara or use not too flashy and really simple false lashes and you’re done with the eyes!
Now for your cheeks!
Step 7: Contour. I love my Hoola By Benefit Bronzer for this job!
Step 8: Apply blush to your cheeks. Use a nice light pink blush like Dandelion by Benefit or you could go for something Petal Pink. NARS Deep Throat, MAC Pink Swoon would be good picks as well.
Step 9: For your lipstick, add a boost of color and lightly pat a hot pink lipstick (Chanel Rouge Allure in Super) on your lips. The lightly patting motion will put just enough to brighten the look but not too much that it’s too overpowering for your lover.
And you are done hunny! You won’t just be attracting your date, you might be catching the eyes of others too hahha. Kidding.
I hope you have a fabulous Valentines Day! Remember, Valentines Day is your day to show your love not only to your boyfriend but also to your other loved ones like your friends and family and if you’re not single – stop rubbing it in. Haha just kidding. Do your thang girlllfrieeeend.
Lots of Love,
Roseanne
