LOTD: Tropical Green & Yellow Eye-Shadow Look

Hey Everyone!

1

Sometimes I like to sit down and get out my eye-shadows and play with make-up in my free time. It’s sort of relaxing and therapeutic. It’s really just an impromptu thing so I decided to share it with you all from now on too. I always shied away from showcasing these looks because I couldn’t make them full-fledged make-up tutorials with all the steps but I thought I would shrug my shoulders and not be so hard on myself. Take it is an inspiration or just a look of the day post!

The inspiration behind the look is really this – the Urban Decay Loaded eye shadow! I’m happy to announce that I’m one of Sephora’s chosen ambassadors and they will be sending me products to my door every month to try out. This beauty was inside this month’s box and I was so happy because it is just such a beautiful dark green shimmer. It’s deep and pigmented and I just had to put it in a look somehow. I thought of maybe integrating it into a fall/autumn look because we’re in that season now but I always do natural and neutral kind of looks and I wanted to do something more colourful and vivid. So..I came up with this.

Green shadow can be hard to wear and having asian eye-lids, we all make excuses that we can’t do color right. Well, it’s possible for sure. I first put a shimmery light vivid green ontop of my lids. It’s my all over base shade. Then, I took a yellow and put that right into my inner corners of my eyes to brighten the look up. I also added just a bit of orange into my inner corners as well. Not too much though – I kinda wanted a yellow orange, but more yellow. Then, it was time to take the star of the show – the Urban Decay Loaded with a small and specific fluffy brush to add to my outer corners and ourter v. I also added a bit into the crease to give my eye some height.

I actually skipped the liner for this look because I didn’t want it to overpower the shadows. I used a really small smudger brush and took the loaded shadow right next to my lid line. This was essentially my liner. Then, I put my mascara on (fav right now is the Makeup Forever Smoky Extravagant Mascara) and my false lashes (Ardell 110 of course) and I’m finished!

Hope you liked it! It’s sort of a one shot, let’s wing it kind of thing. What other color combinations do you want to see me do?

Love,
Roseanne
