Hey Everyone!
Happy Saturday! I woke up this morning and decided to do a tutorial and since I hauled the Shu Uemura Eye-Conic Collection a few posts ago, I thought why not give them a whirl. I picked the Yellow Trio and Pink Blush Duo to play with and also incorporated it with my Shu Uemura Lasting Soft Gel Pencil that is in need of an urgent review soon. I love it so much. I’ve heard a lot about Shu Uemura eye-shadows – they’re pigmented, soft and can create that duo tone look and to be honest, it fulfilled every expectation. I created a soft smokey eye that’s great for the weekend or lunch out with your gal pals and paired it with soft pink cheeks and lips.
With every eye look, you’ll need a decent primer. I love the Urban Decay Primer Potion but I’ve been trying out the Benefit Stay Don’t Stray and it’s not bad either.
Next, take a fluffy brush (this is the M.A.C 217 which happens to be my favourite) and grab some of the yellow. This yellow is incredibly wearable because it is borderline pale gold which is so pretty on the eyelids.
Apply the color all over the lids and remember not to go too high up. This is just your base color.
Then, take your brown with the pencil brush. This is an incredibly special brown color. When you spread it out, it has two tones. A more brick brown when dispersed and a chocolate brown when concentrated. This allows you to have that beautiful gradient effect.
Apply the colour at the outer corner blending into the crease. You can pat it a few times in the outer corner to give your eyes more dimension.
Next, take an even smaller pencil brush and use the same shade of brown.
Apply this onto your water-line to give you that smokey and more I guess “mysterious” look. You can compare the two sides and the one with the waterline done looks more finished right?
Then, take the Shu Uemura Lasting Soft Gel Pencil! I love this and have been using it for a while now. It’s super black, lasts all day and it’s retractible. Such a good liner.
You don’t want heavy liner so just line your tight line first and gradually just add a bit more near the outer edges of your eye.
I went ahead and did my eye-lashes, eye brows and lips. Now, it’s time for blush! I’m using the Shu Uemura Pink Blush Duo! It gives a really pretty flush, don’t you think?
And we are done folks! A pretty weekend look you can do :)
