Hey Everyone,
One of the greatest perks about being a blogger is making new friends who share the same interests and hobbies as you do. From talking on twitter, to meeting up randomly to blogger events, I’ve made some awesome friends through blogging. I thought I’d take you for a spin during one of your dinner dates at Wild Honey, a great place for brunch like food if you’re ever in Singapore and if indeed you need a Melbourne fix.
Let me introduce you to the lovely babes! On the far left is Sara Kye (http://www.icyabstract.onsugar.com) who is one of the first Singapore YouTube Beauty gurus that I watched. I remember watching her Brush set review that I really wanted to buy from a blogshop (myclassycloset) and it’s pretty cool to think how far everyone has come since those days. She’s an absolutely lovely and beautiful girl! In the middle is Sarah Chaudry (http://www.facesbysarah.com) who is a Celeb Make-Up Artist here in Singapore. She is ridiculously talented with make-up. Check her YouTube Channel out at (http://www.youtube.com/facesbysarah).
Then of course there’s these lovely ladies! Clara from (http://www.dblchin.com) is one of the sweetest girls I know. She’s a lifestyle and beauty blogger and a must to check out. I have to thank Pearlin on the right for opening up the world of events for me. She invited me to my first blogging event at Orchard Scotts Dental and helped me kick-start everything! She’s the lovely lady behind Singapore’s foremost anti-aging website (http://www.reviewantiaging.com) and author best-selling books including Boss of Me!, Sleep & Get Rich!, Secrets of Asia’s most successful Internet Gurus!
Wild Honey was a popular brunch, lunch and well dinner venue that first made it’s home at the Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road. We decided to have dinner at the second Wild Honey at the new Scotts. The interior is cosily decorated, like you’re eating at your grandmother’s swanky house. It reminds me of some of the cool brunch spots in Melbourne and yes, I happen to miss them dearly.
The menu at Wild Honey features a pretty good menu, (there’s eggs in basically every single dish) and dishes are categorized according to the country. A dish is called the Mexican, or the European and even the Tunsianian, English and Scandanavian. Well, you get the idea.
I ordered the Mexican. I was feeling wildly hungry and a standard eggs benedict, although one of my favorites, probably wouldn’t cut it. The Mexican is described as a hearty breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, black beans served with salsa, guacamole and sour cream! Oh yes. If Mexican food (and North Indian food) had a football match, I’d be cheering on the sidelines with the whole gig, large finger, horns, and flags included. This one was pretty good, despite the fact that my first visit to Wild Honey at the Mandarin Gallery was a bit of a bland and salty flop, I enjoyed this one slathered with the tomato chutney and guacamole. That, or I was extremely hungry.
Then, ordered and plated on the table came this – the European. It’s Wild Honey’s version of Eggs Benedict – two perfectly poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms, and prosciutto on toasted homemade brioche with hollandaise sauce. Believe it or not, the first time I had Eggs Benedict was last year. It was like my breakfast dream come true.
Sarah and Clara both ordered the Aussie, a rib-eye steak sandwich with vine ripened tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, the whole deal. I would have ordered this too!
Yummo!
The Norwegian was next up, a classic Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, avocado and grilled asparagus on grilled brioche with of course hollandaise sauce. I think Singapore would do well opening up more restaurants like these!
For dessert, we ordered the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. This was absolutely to die for. I liked it more than the main courses. Faint-worthy!
We also ordered a chocolate brownie which was also faint-worthy. Someone call an ambulance quick! Overall we had a great dinner, catching up on our lives before I started my internship and flew off again. Love these girls!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
