Hey Everyone!

Today I thought I might do a tutorial and review of the Urban Decay Electric Palette! It’s Urban Decay’s newest palette and it’s so gorgeous. You’ve probably seen it already at Sephora and I’m sure you know that I’m not that popular with such bold colors but it’s really fun sometimes to sit down with something like this and try out different color combinations! So that’s exactly what I did and I came up with this! It’s easy to do and there’s a step by step tutorial!

The shades I used were Freak all over the lids, Gonzo in my outer corner, Chaos in my Outer V, Urban and Jilted in my crease. It’s really about blending everything together and not going really high up on the eye.

Hey Everyone!

Here are some great tips I’ve tried myself that are super friendly to the wallets – they totally work too. Make-up after all can be super expensive so it’s good to have these under your belt before dishing out the extra dollars.

1. Get your Mascara Back with Hot Water

If you hate having clumpy mascara, just fill a cup with hot water and dip your mascara in. Make sure that the water level doesn’t reach the lid crack opening. Wait for probably 3 to 5 minutes and seriously, your mascara is as good as new. This is a great tip for any liquid product like lip glosses too.

2. Always Ask for Samples

hiiii

Whenever I make a purchase at the counter, I always ask for samples. This is a great way for you to try new products and also get more bang for your buck. I love getting mini perfume samples because that means I can always smell good on the go. They’re so small, they can fit into any wallet or purse.

Today I just wanted to let you in on a new skincare range I’m trying out! As you know, I am still on the road to recovery with my acne and I need something that is great for oily & really sensitive skin like mine. I decided to try out the Curél Sebum Trouble Care skincare range because the range claims to control both skin sensitivity and sebum production. I did some research beforehand and I found out that a dual function is important because if excess sebum on the skin is not properly removed, the sebum turns into a harmful substance that irritates the skin surface and inner layers, worsening skin sensitivity overall. That’s why you need a range that does both. Another cause of sensitive skin is a lack of  ceramide which helps your skin retain moisture and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier against external irritants. Of course skin sensitivity can also be caused by diet, hormones, and a change in pH level too.

Contrary to what you might think, blush doesn’t just come in peaches and pinks and contour powder or bronzer isn’t just brown. Here’s my quick tip guide to picking the right colour for your blush, contour and highlight. First things first, you gotta know your undertone. An undertone is the underlying color of your skin color and is primarily cool or warm. To find this, simply flip over your arm and observe your veins. Are they green (blue x warm) or are they purple/blue (blue x cool)? If they are green, you’re warm and if they are blue, you’re cool. Also if you think silver jewellery suits you better, you’re cool and if gold jewellery suits you better, you have a warm undertone. Now that we’ve gotten that sorted, let’s start.

I barely update you on what I’ve been up to, so today I thought I would share with you something special. Last week I was on the panel and one of the expert judges for the Guardian Health & Beauty Awards 2014! Among other expert panelists were Addy Lee, Chairman of Monsoon Hair Group, Shunji Matsuo, CEO of Shunjiu Matsuo, Dr. Gerald Tan, President of the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore and a few others so it was a complete honor to be considered up there with them in terms of beauty and product knowledge.

I never told you but I was also one of the judges for the Her World Beauty Awards and the Aesthetics & Beauty Magazine Awards this year as well! We attended the awards event that was held at the Shangrila and basically all the brand teams of all the brands stocked in Guardian stores were there. It was nerve-wracking to get up on stage and talk to everyone. Hey, I even did some presenting of the awards and shook their hands to take a photo. I’ve only seen my Dad do this lol.

I am sure we have all heard of mainstream nail polish brands like O.P.I, Essie and China Glaze, but what about indie nail polish brands? Indie nail polish brands tend to be better for you since often they are handmade, 5 – free (meaning that they do not contain camphor, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde or formaldehyde resins) or 3-free and sometimes cruelty free as well. They are like secret gems in the nail polish world made by passionate and creative people! You can’t find indie nail polish brands just anywhere.

In fact, I don’t know of a place that you can in Singapore except an online store called www.beautysofly.com where I got all these nail polishes I’m going to show you today! It’s an amazing site that has a load of indie nail polish brands you should check out as well as a variety of mainstream brands too. I love the variety on there and shipping is quick and efficient! Let’s get started and explore my favourite glitter ones!
