Hey Everyone!

I’m always on the hunt for a good sunscreen that does well under make-up. Most sunscreens out there leave a very oily residue and a white overcast when applied which often leaves your foundation slipping and sliding when you apply it over top. I’ve been using Chanel’s newest sunscreen lately – the Chanel Sublimage La Protection UV in SPF 50 and have been loving the light texture that almost disappears when applied. This sunscreen is great under make-up which I appreciate so here’s my review!

The Chanel Sublimage La Protection UV in SPF 50 combines both anti-ageing skincare and sunscreen into one with an advanced formula that targets DNA and the stem cell microenvironment. For anti-ageing action, Chanel has incorporated Vanilla planifolia, vanilla from Madagascar known for its regenerating properties that helps prevent the appearance of wrinkles while liquorice root extract lessens pigmentation and dark spots. It is also known for its creamy texture that turns into a powdery matte finish after application.

I’ve recently added a brand new serum to my nightly skincare routine and decided that today I wanted to share it with you! It’s the new The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Boost Serum. A serum is a skincare product that  you apply after your toner and before your moisturiser. It typically has a higher concentration of a particular active ingredient that does all sorts of different things from brightening your skin to making it more hydrated.

A brighter complexion is on everyone’s wish list. You can either DIY it – they say a mix of lemon juice, egg whites and honey works – or you can simply get a good serum to do the trick. I have been using The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Boost Serum for a while and I love that I wake up in the morning brighter and more hydrated. In total, it increases hydration, brightness and translucency of your skin.

Today I want to talk about my current skincare routine! I thought I’d do this quick post before showering and getting ready for bed. The skincare range I’ve been using is the Ziaja sensitive skin range. I have been using this range for a few weeks already and I have really noticed improvements in my skin – mainly in the smoothness of my skin and the size of my pores!

hihi

Ziaja is actually a European and pharmaceutical skincare producer that has been in the skincare market for 25 years already. Ziaja is available in 28 countries, including six in Asia. Globally, Ziaja produces over 1,000 types of products with 45 of Ziaja’s best-selling products available here in Singapore. In fact their motto is – quality products with natural ingredients at affordable prices. Quality stands for the fact that all their products are produced in Europe and are not tested on animals. Futhermore, Ziaja also tries to use the most natural ingredients as possible with their active ingredients ranging from goat’s milk to rose butter.

I’m glad to say that my skin is finally getting better and better. That means I get to be more experimental with my skincare! I am truly a huge fan of Aveda products. Their Dry Remedy™shampoo has literally healed my hair after so much color and treatment damage and their hair products actually work. Even my boyfriend uses their products now on his hair! But hair isn’t the only thing that Aveda is known for, they have skincare ranges as well! In my last post, I visited the Aveda Experience Centre at Ngee Ann City for the Aroma Sensory Journey and Hairstyling Ritual where an Aveda daymaker chose the specific products that suited me best!

Today I just wanted to let you in on a new skincare range I’m trying out! As you know, I am still on the road to recovery with my acne and I need something that is great for oily & really sensitive skin like mine. I decided to try out the Curél Sebum Trouble Care skincare range because the range claims to control both skin sensitivity and sebum production. I did some research beforehand and I found out that a dual function is important because if excess sebum on the skin is not properly removed, the sebum turns into a harmful substance that irritates the skin surface and inner layers, worsening skin sensitivity overall. That’s why you need a range that does both. Another cause of sensitive skin is a lack of  ceramide which helps your skin retain moisture and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier against external irritants. Of course skin sensitivity can also be caused by diet, hormones, and a change in pH level too.

Today, I just wanted to give you a quick update about my journey with IDS clinic – it’s been a good four months already! IDS is a skin clinic that I have been regularly visiting to keep my acne issues under control and I have been really loving their professional service. You can read more about it here in my last post when I first visited. They have a very comprehensive range of products and for the first few months, they really helped to lessen the amount of acne I had. Trust me, it really was quite bad. Not only did I have small bumps, I had large cystic acne as well. It’s been a real journey and right now, it’s gotten a lot better thanks to the products. However, to be totally honest, my skin isn’t perfect just yet. My current favourite products from the range is the IDS Cleansing Gel (best make-up remover ever, if you have great skin you need to buy this anyway), IDS Scrub (very fine scrub that helps to take away dead skin cells and blackheads) as well as the IDS spot (which is a tinted acne treatment). I love the IDS C+ and Pore as well as they’ve really been effective in lessening my crazy skin. I want to update you on my detailed and full journey after my acne is fully recovered, but what I really want to talk about today is the amazing treatment I had yesterday at IDS.
