Hey Everyone!

Today I thought I might do a foundation review! It’s been a while since I’ve done one because my skin has been breaking out so badly. Thankfully though, it’s on the road to recovery. It’s like unpredictable weather really and it can go crazy in a matter of days and heal up in just the same time. Melbourne weather. I’ve been trying out the new Lancôme Blanc Miracle Bright Light Creator liquid foundation and I’ve been really impressed by it’s coverage and lightweight feel.

The Lancome Blanc Miracle was first launched in 2011 and was extremely popular because it gave you Aura-Bright radiance and was long lasting. In fact, it was the the number one best selling whitening foundation in Asia! You might think that it’s just another foundation, but Lancôme has really put a lot of effort and research into it’s new formula. Now in 2014, the Lancome Blanc Miracle is now re-formulated offering a higher SPF protection at SPF 50 PA++, a spectacular brightening effect, sensitive skin friendly with natural ingredients, and a “fit and fine” texture. It’s a lightweight and comfortable foundation that gives you great coverage without feeling heavy.

I hate being caught with greasy skin and it’s really something I can’t control. My face just wants to be a discoball midday and there’s nothing I can do about it until I discovered make-up. I always touch up midday and there’s a couple products I really do recommend to put in your touch up bag. One of them is the NEW Benefit Agent Zero Shine Shine-Vanishing Pro Powder! I love this to BITS and it’s something I received last year from my dear friends at Benefit Cosmetics to try out before the launch date in Singapore. Girls, I have to say that this is really amazing and it took a while to review it because I really wanted to get to know this powder. So let’s get started!

I remember when I first tried the Rachel K CC Cream a few years ago and loved it. Rachel K is the pioneer of the CC Cream craze and is in fact the first brand to mass produce and commercialise CC creams. When other brands like Chanel to Clinique to Etude House saw what could be a hot trend, they all jumped the bandwagon too. I’m also happy to say that Rachel K first started out as a local Singapore brand but has now turned international with creams selling globally like Malaysia and Hong Kong as well! Other than their skincare line, they’ve recently come out with a new cc cream now called the Rachel K CC Renew! In this post I’ll be doing a review and giving my thoughts about how it compares to the original Rachel K CC cream if you’re still wondering which to get.

Guess what just landed on Singapore shores! Jane Iredale! I first heard about Jane Iredale when I asked my friend what her favourite skincare products were. She promptly replied that one of them was the Jane Iredale Dry Sunscreen. I’ve never heard of dry sunscreen before but that day, I went home and realised that that was just one of the many neat and unique things that Jane Iredale does with make-up! There is for example the Jane Iredale cleansing mitt which doesn’t need any skincare products at all. It’s a fibre cloth that removes all your make-up instantly – even waterproof mascara – with just warm water! It’s amazing and to be honest, I’m very impressed with the rest of their products as well! Today, I thought I might do a review!

I would have to say that CC Creams are the in thing now. Almost every brand is dishing one out and brands that didn’t jump the bb cream bandwagon on time made sure to catch this wave. I still remember reviewing the very first one on the market – the Rachel K CC Cream – and now it’s a category of make-up. If you don’t know what CC creams are, they are just a more refined version of bb creams. That means you’re looking at more skincare ingredients, finer texture, more coverage – basically bb creams 5.0. A lot of brands are trying to differentiate their cc creams though and I find more korean versions gearing towards cc creams that have “color adapting technology” – meaning that they come out white but “turn your into your skin color” once rubbed in. However swanky and cool, I don’t really believe it. This “technology” is usually caused by micro capsules that contain pigment and break once rubbed into the skin. It’s not brand new news either with Revlon first coming out with it when I was still in High School.

I love this foundation. It is so good. I’m sure you know that I’ve tried countless bottles of foundation. There were a few misses, hits but a few rare I love yous. This has gotta be an “I love you”. Today I’ll be doing a review on the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat! I’ve been a long time believer in YSL’s cult product – the Touch Eclat (YSL’s pen highlighter) – so I was very much keen to try this foundation out. Plus, I was at an event and I was talking to the beauty editor at Cosmo and when asked what her favourite foundation of the moment was, she quickly replied with this particular bottle! And after trying out for a month, I have to agree.
