I know, I know I haven’t yet posted another video yet but I will soon I guess. I’ve just opted to take a break from finance haha and decided to do a post, oh and just now I painted my dorm mates faces to mimic a mime – yes it included lots of white face paint and alot of maybelline gel liner because there wasn’t any black lipstick. :( And I didn’t take any pictures because they were late for the party already.
Anyway, yesterday I came across Mecca Cosmetica in Melbourne which is right across the MYER department store and saw the heavenly NARS counter, well counters as a matter of fact. It was dreamy and I managed to swatch laguna bronzer and orgasm and deep throat as well as the multiples (blush sticks as well). I am utterly in love with their packaging. I didn’t take any pictures though, I think I was so absorbed in the moment that I forgot plus I’d probably be kicked out because they don’t like people taking pictures there.
So, I came up with a NARS wish list, which is actually a manageble wish list because I need to NOT spend anything for 2 weeks to make up for the money lost according to my current allowance income. haha.
1. LAGUNA BRONZER
We all know from youtuber allthatglitters21 that this is her favourite bronzer. Right now I’m currently using Everyday Minerals Everyday Bronzer but I dislike the fact that I have to be EXTRA careful with the amount I put on my brush to contour my cheeks because a tinge more and it could look quite muddy. Plus, its a bit inconvenient that its not pressed and I’ve wanted this since day 1 as its reviews are quite the wonderful.
Damage to be done: AUD$72.00 (i know.)
2. NARS Limited Edition Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duos
with Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer. I might actually get this instead of getting the full size laguna bronzer because it also comes with the famous Orgasm Blush. BUT its limited Edition. :(
Damage to be Done: AUD$70.00
3. NARS Orgasm Blush
Do i really need to explain why? LOL. Probably the most talked about blush of the century.
Damage to be done: AUD$62.00
So from Nars, I could be spending either: AUD$134.00 or AUD$70.00 (if that duo is still around)
1. MAC 109 Brush
I want a good contouring brush, and I’ve heard this is a must have MAC brush and it will be the first MAC brush I will purchase. I want one that can fit nicely into my cheek bones, basically no fuss contouring because for my contouring step right now, I have to be EXTRA careful with the amount of product I put on my brush and where I handle my brush. I just need it less complicated haha
Damage to be done: AUD$62.00
Benetint! I’ve been wanting this for a long time, mainly because it stays for the entire day, and I haven’t yet found a blush that does this :( I would use this for hardcore occasions like clubbing or sports. Something that won’t rub off so quickly.
Damage to be done: AUD$51.00
With Duo: $183.00 (1 week of no spending)
Without Duo: $247.00 (2 weeks of no spending)
Which will be alright since all my food and EvERYTHING is basically provided free (well not free, its included from my dorm fees, not part of my allownace though) by my dorm. YAY. hahaha. Its just that I’ve never done anything like this before, I’ve never really ventured majorly like this into high end brands but I’ve been stalking these products on youtube for the longest time. Perhaps one day…I shall get them. hehe. And don’t worry I will keep you posted of it.
And I know a long while back I was tagged by Sarah to do the One Regret I have, well here it is, quite blatantly.
I regret questioning my ex boyfriends love so much and when we broke up , I wish I didn’t make such a ‘big’ fuss out of it, out of the fact that he got a new girlfriend 2 weeks after we broke up. I regret asking him back, I regret breaking down in tears and I regret letting what seemed like the world know what happened. Even if they asked. I wish I played it cool, and when we broke up, I wish I did something like nod and show him the door, deleted him from my life and that was it. Not a single word or utterance. That I regret. But I don’t regret that ‘we’ happened.
:) Cool beans, hope you like this post!
I just posted up a video on youtube – just a vlog and dorm room tour requested by fiestyskies.
I must say that my dorm looked like an absolute PRISON CELL before lol, white walls, nothing on the bed, empty desk, everything was so drab, but I put a bit of roseanne’s touch on it, and now its at least tolerable :)
& the printer isn’t in the vid, cuz I just bought it today haha.
Here are some pictures.
Thanks for still being my readers even if I don’t have as much time as I used to have. I willl be doing a July fav. video soon as soon as I can at least.
Just wanted to thank everyone so much for all the best wishes. I’ve arrived safely, quite a while ago and was welcomed to slightly cold weather in my terms but I wish it was colder. I’m a very loving the cold person haha and I’ve gotten to know the place sort of well and I love it here. In terms of beauty, its very similar to the US in that it carries many brands and serves it to consumers in a similar manner. Like the states, there are huge department stores, even target, but what they have here is BIG W, woolworths, and their grocery stores also carry american brands. But they aren’t as cheap as the states.
A few brands that avail here:
- BLOOM (which I’m not sure you’ve heard of but that I love, check out their shadow liner in charcoal gray that I ran out of long ago but something that I just bought today at a perfumery)
- Covergirl (including lashblast and all the cosmetics)
- Maybelline (is avail in sing but it has american mascaras known on youtube, and all the dream matte powder stuff, and mascaras that are only available in the US)
- Revlon (which I know is avail in singapore, but it has a lot more because its 3 or 4 times larger in a grocery store
- Smashbox (at select perfumeries)
- NARS @ Mecca Cosmetics
- Rimmel (avail in sing, but bigger) but no rimmel perfect prep and prime :(
- Max Factor
- egyptian magic
and more..they have everything thats avail in singapore..even some korean brands in chinatown haha. The Body Shop is HUGE, much much bigger than the singapore stores.
Lots! BUT the downside is that it is crazy expensive, well as expensive as singapore I think because the price range is like $17 and up up for everything and even NARS is like 70 to 80 dollars! My shadow liner from Bloom was $24.00. I don’t think I will be expanding my collection even with so much to be tempted by because I should control my money hehe. :) No everyday minerals here though.
BUT I was so upset the day I left because I spotted Everyday Minerals at Causeway Point METRO in sing and they were selling ONE full size container for $42.80 each!! How could they do that? Everyday Minerals is supposed to be affordable for everyone, a great make up for everyone. Like Charles and Keith – great products not for an exorbitant price. It makes me curiously enraged.
And the people are so friendly here, so so friendly! Australians are amazing, theyre very kind and helpful people from what I know right now. :)
Some Pictures for you:
The university is really beautiful, but really old, built in 1853 haha
My dorm/residential hall, had to go through crazy requirements including interviews to stay here! It was built in 1887 lol
Well just here to update! I’m having orientation soon on Monday so wish me luck :)
Missing all of you,
I’m leaving tonight, going to the airport at 6:30 and packing my laptop way before so I won’t be able to do a vid for quite a while, until everything is a-okay and settled in melbourne :) i’m really scared/excited and super nervous and I’m going to miss my friends, family and my doggie :( and of course all the beauty bloggers I got to know and love.
Here’s my last vid in singapore before i go to Melbourne – tea tree oil product haul :)
